I would not hire them again. The cabinet installers and guys who did the refacing overall were good, but working with Julia when a problem occurred was a disaster. The quartz countertop we had installed by their sub-contractor cracked within a year of use. We contacted Julia and she did nothing but string us along and lie to us for more than two years, saying "she was working on a solution." After going back and forth for years, she finally came back and said she wasn't going to do anything to help fix the issue after all, even admitting it was either an installation or product problem. During that time we were passed back and forth between Julia, the countertop installer and the quartz manufacturer. No one was willing to accept responsibility for something that was not our fault. After more than three years and a lot of stress later, we still have an ugly 12" long crack in our quartz countertop that we paid good money for and trusted that Cabinet Cures would make right. Please don't use this company, they don't stand behind their word.

I really wanted to give Cabinet Cures a good review, but the project was not without its issues. Before the work began, we specifically asked the crew NOT to put any painter’s tape of any kind on the hardwood floors. They had put blue painter’s tape down on protective paper and revamped by replacing it with “sensitive” tape even though they were asked not to use any tape at all. We were told the sensitive tape would not damage the floor and that the paper had to be taped down for safety reasons. Needless to say, when the paper was pulled up, the floor was damaged in several spots where the tape removed the finish. They told us they are not responsible for floor damage and that due to the age of the finish, the result was unavoidable. Unavoidable? How about no tape…no damage. We were given a timeframe of 5-10 days for project completion and it was nearly three weeks, mainly because the hardware (handles) for the cupboards and drawers were on back order. Perhaps this should have been known before starting? Only half were installed in a timely manner. We were also advised not to disturb the crew while they were working as the work is precise, but my husband just happened to notice that they were refacing our island in white and it was supposed to be in walnut. My husband caught that early. The first night after they left, I went to use the microwave and someone from the crew had left a cup of coffee in it. This is during COVID and they had not asked to use the microwave. Second day my husband heard “dinging” sounds from the kitchen and they were again trying to use the microwave to heat coffee but were actually using controls for the lower oven. I just thought this was disrespectful to the homeowner during a pandemic. So, do I like my new refaced cabinets, yes. Do I like strangers using my appliances without permission…nope. Do I like my damaged floors…not so much. Beware and read the fine print in the contract and maybe think twice about using this company.

Our project started off on time, but it became apparent very quickly that they were not going to finish in 5 days. Day 1: 1 guy to prep and do the refacing. He worked very diligently, but I’m pretty sure he was new. Day 2: started with 1 guy, then another showed up later in the day. Day 3: Cancelled because something wasn’t ready. Day 4: I think 2-3 guys today. I could definitely tell this wasn’t going to be done Friday. Day 5: we must have had 6+ people trying to get the work done. It was chaotic. They stayed after 8pm before admitting the work would need to be finished later. At this point they packed everything up (including the cabinet knobs that were going to be reused). Over the next 2 weeks, the work was finished, with the exception of the pull out garbage can. The pull out garbage was not what we were expecting. We wanted a top mounted version and it ended up being a bottom mounted. Julia offered to get us the correct version at no cost to us. Unfortunately it was back ordered and she would reach out when it was shipped. 5 months later Julia called to let me know the insert was in and she could schedule someone to come out and install. I replied that any day but Friday would work... never heard back from her. The irritating thing about this was I ordered the same version of the "back ordered" garbage can insert from Home Depot back in August. It arrived in a few days, so I really felt like I was being lied to. In the end I suppose it worked out. We still owed $900 due upon completion of the project, but since the project was never completed, we never paid and have not heard from Cabinet Cures about it. I really wish things would have ended better as I would have liked to have had the same company reface our bathroom cabinets as well.

I did not use them after paying a $5000 non refundable deposit, but had to do this to just get on their Calender. I ordered nothing and they did no work at my house, kitchen.
Description of Work: I got an estimate for refacing our kitchen cabinets, drawers, island, and refrigerator and dishwasher. To get on Cabinet Cures calendar I had to pay a deposit, $5,000, almost 1/3 of our estimate. I did this and it was a non-refundable deposit which I accept. BEWARE OF THIS FINE PRINT. I was going to use them but after reading more reviews online and not giving me any referrals I requested of who have used them., I changed my mind to not use them. They were at my house 3 times for: *a bid, *looking at my counters that were removed by someone else, *and for a review bid. I also got paint sample of 2 colors I was considering. I requested a more detailed written bid (since original so vague, and they did that.) They did NO work for me in the kitchen and I ordered nothing to move forward. I found someone else to use for this project who gave me referrals of their jobs and I got more comfort to use for the same work. I requested a partial refund of my $5000 from Cabinet Cures, although a sentence in writing on their contract signed said non-refundable, but they responded with nothing even though I ordered nothing and they did NO work at my house. I had a bad feeling about this. I thought some refund would leave a good feeling with Cabinet Cures and me a customer. Beware of your non-refundable deposit! I think their product is quality but I have to have a comfort with who I am working with. I did not feel what I listed above was worth $5000. My review is honest and sincere for your information.

Response from Cabinet Cures of Pdx
Hello Mrs [Member Name Removed], You signed a contract with Cabinet Cures on 9/18/2020 that stated very clearly in two separate places that the deposit is non refundable. This is not fine print, as we make a point to show in large bold letters that it is not refundable. We also have written clearly on the contract that the deposit goes towards administrative costs associated with designing and scheduling your project. At the time of signing, I once again state that the deposit is not refundable. You were provided, at that time, a copy (which you signed) of the Oregon Contractors Board Consumer Protection Notices that advise you to carefully read any contract before signing because they are binding. We do not offer high pressure sales, and you willingly entered into this contract with us. We are more than willing to work with customers on a partial refund of their deposit if they change their minds within a week or two of contract signing. You came to my showroom after numerous attempts to meet with you for final project details, on 11/13/2020. At this appointment you stated you would like to cancel the project, after being contracted with us for 56 days and a mere 4 weeks before the project was scheduled to start. We hope this has brought some clarity to the matter and wish you the best in your future endeavors.

The cabinets were not done in the 5 days it was supposed to be done. We had delays, and from start to finish it took 1 month. Mostly done in 1 week, but delays in finish work. We used the recommend quartz company and there was delays and miss communication with them as well. The tile installer did a nice job, but seemed hungover

I highly recommend Cabinet Cures Oregon for their craftsmanship, quality of products, and customer care. Our kitchen has been completely transformed, and because they use 1/4 inch wood skins, rather than glued on veneer, you would never guess that they weren't new cabinets. Our kitchen was looking very dated and tired, varnished oak cabinets and doors, so we looked into the best way to have them updated. As we had granite countertops which didn't need replacing, we looked at several companies for a bid who specialize in cabinet refacing. We researched Cabinet Cures, they have several helpful videos on Youtube, their attention to detail and quality of in-house finishing of their products demonstrated to us that these guys know their stuff, and gave us the confidence to let them handle the job. Although theirs was not necessarily the cheapest bid we received, the big decider was the solid wood skins they use (no veneer), and the quality of finish of their products. We felt it was well worth paying just a little more investing in the best quality finish we could find. We were not disappointed, the maple espresso finish we decided on for our kitchen is a high quality look. The 1/4 inch maple wood skins which cover all outside surfaces look naturally grained, and match the maple doors and drawer fronts beautifully, and the espresso finish has a satin look (not shiny) clear coat for protection, which seems to be a tough hard wearing finish and easily cleanable with a sponge and water, no wood treatment or special cleaner needed. On the insides of the door openings, edge-banding is used with the same wood finish, which completes the illusion that the cabinet fronts are solid pieces of wood. None of the other companies we approached offered such a complete refacing product, which I think this makes Cabinet Cures stand out from the crowd in this industry. Our fitters were Jessie and Emilio, who did an outstanding job with the installation. Everything lined up beautifully, and the cuts and joints were clean and tight, I am a perfectionist in this regard but they fully met my expectations. Any visible joints or brad pins are carefully finished with putty and matched wood stain, so an "invisible" installation. We converted 2 lower cupboards from doors to 3 drawers for, which is a very useful and cost effective conversion to do whilst the cabinets are being updated. We also had 4 fixed shelves in the pantry cupboard converted to 4 pull out shelves. These simple conversions brought our storage into the 21st century and I would really recommend considering having these done, it has increased our available storage significantly, whilst at the same time saving our backs, no more stooping and reaching to the back of cupboards for heavy pots/pans, access is so much easier now. Throughout the job, Jessie and Emilio were friendly and polite, and happy to answer any questions or requests, really nice guys. Jessie I believe has been with the company from the beginnings of the company, and his craftsmanship in the detail of moulding and light valance work is plain to see. All in all, we couldn't be happier with the service we got from Cabinet Cures Portland, and do not hesitate to highly recommend them if you are in the market for refacing of your tired cabinets. They are the best!

I would not recommend hiring this business. The kitchen turned out great but they're 2 week time frame turned into a month or more. Things were scheduled to start and then they said they could start the work sooner. Julia is the person who writes the contracts, orders supplies and schedules/coordinates the cabinets, counter tops, back splash, sink installation, etc. So the cabinets started on time but they were late arriving everyday. My husband works graveyard shift and I'm on call so he would stay up each morning to wait for them. Then Julia told us the counter tops would have to wait a couple of weeks due to scheduling mix up so we went an extra week with no kitchen and no use of our sinks, water was turned off. 2 weeks later they put in counter tops, they put a golf ball sized hole in our wall under the counter upstairs. They had me pay them and rushed out the door, at first I thought they were just busy but they did not even tell me what happened. The back splash installation was delayed another 2 weeks because they did not order it. They also forgot to order some of the droor handles. It turned out great but the process was maddening. They are one of those businesses that will say it's not my fault, so and so forgot to do this or I didn't know or I wasn't aware. Their job is not hard, measure, order, install, that's it. I would not recommend or use their services again.

Cabinet Cures did a superb job. They helped us at the front end of the process in making good decisions on cabinet materials, colors, backsplashes, etc. Their work was done professionally with the installers arriving on time and completing the job exactly as committed. We had a small issue with a couple of trim pieces becoming dislodged and they followed up quickly and reinstalled the the trim. A pleasure to work with and highly recommended.

Julia Koch was our contact and she was very professional and helpful. Eric was the main person doing the work although there were two other men that helped out. The quality of the work was excellent and Eric was very professional and highly skilled. The results exceeded our expectations. We went from dingy old oak cabinets to brand new looking natural maple cabinets. Very impressive.

This project went very well! The designer met with us and made some suggestions and provided a quote. We made our decision to go with them for a couple of reasons, the installation (excluded measuring and fabrication of the new doors, drawer faces and cupboard faces) would take only 1 week and they provide a 5 year guarantee for their work. They also are able to coordinate other work such as countertops and tile backsplashes if you need or want that service (the coordination is free). We already had our own providers for countertop and tile work so didn't use that service. The designer was there for us whenever we had a question; the measuring for fabrication took about 2 hours. The installation date was as agreed upon and they finished in one week. There were a few adjustments here and there but they were very willing to take care of those. Overall we are extremely happy with our new kitchen. The cabinets are amazing. You cannot tell that we didn't put in new cabinets unless you look very closely on the inside of the boxes. One other thing we really like is that all drawers that were being refaced were re built with solid wood boxes with tongue and grove construction. We have heard stories from others on less than pleasant experiences with refacing and the time to get the job done taking months but that is not the case with Cabinet Cures. They totally delivered on all promises.

Julia was helpful in picking out surfaces. When they installed the kitchen, we were told that the cutting board that matched our kitchen was on back order and would be delivered when they had it in stock. That was 3 months ago. We have now called Julia 5 times. She stated she would check into it and we're still waiting.

Extremely well. Working with Julia of Cabinet Cures, we selected a door style, color, quartz counter top, and glass and aluminum back splash. Julia recommended, and scheduled service providers Cabinet Cures works with to install the non-cabinet products. We decided to work with these service providers and we are glad we did. They included Quartz and Granite Countertops Inc., and Neilson Construction for the back splash installation. Julia worked with us to schedule the work required to do the job and all of the service providers adhered to the schedule despite each one of them being a separate entity on their own. This only demonstrated to us the strong relationship each of the providers have with one another. Cabinet Cures' installer, Rob, was extremely good at what he does. He was thorough in preparing for his work ensuring he had all the materials needed to complete the re-facing project before he began. Rob was very pleasant, customer centric, very knowledgeable, a keen eye and great carpenter skills needed to make sure all re-facing materials were cut to fit the first time. Coordinating between several contractors is never pleasant and rarely runs smooth, but this job was the exception. The relationship between these service providers, beginning with Julia of Cabinet Cures, made this job the least stressful of any my wife and I have experienced. I highly recommend Cabinet Cures if you are looking to re-face or paint your cabinets.

The experience was terrible. The designer arrived in an attitude of frustration, sat her bag on the counter and audibly sighed. Seemed to have no enthusiasm for the project. Did not offer ideas and when I pulled up my Pinterest board of ideas she exclaimed more than once in utter annoyance 'I hate Pinterest'. Without even asking my budget she said "these are the cabinets in your budget" -- I wanted someone excited and ready to bounce ideas around to ℅-create an awesome kitchen. On top of that the quote was outrageous for non custom cabinets and no new cabinets.

Cabinet Cures is a custom refacing company. The quote provided to you was for a large 50+ face kitchen with drawer modifications, replacement of shelves in all cabinets, two bathrooms as well as new cabinets and modifications to a desk area to create a coffee bar. In home estimates are always priced at our standard door tier as customers have not had a chance to look over our large selection of door options and chosen which one works best for them. This is never a reflection on what "budget" we think you have, it is simply a way to provide an initial estimate. I'm sorry your bid did not meet your expectations and that you felt like our designer could not meet your needs. This is why we have multiple designers in our company in order to provide everyone with excellent service. If you would like to continue with one of our other designers please feel free to contact us or stop by our showroom.

They did a good job and they were all very pleasant to work with -- nice people.
Description of Work: They refaced all our kitchen cabinets and also did crown above all cabinets. The stain came out a bit darker than I had anticipated and I had thought we had chosen a somewhat lighter glaze. Since they had already finished the work when I noticed it, I did not mention it to them. I doubt they could have done anything at that point.

We are very, very pleased with the results having our 20 year old cabinets refinished! They look brand new. And by adding hardware and the wider crown molding it really dressed the kitchen up! When I called at the end of February to get an estimate I was able to get an appointment the next week. Kelly Koch, the owner of Cabinet Cures came out to give me the estimate at the end of February. In addition to the refinishing I wanted to know if a couple of cabinets could be replaced with drawers. He said sure that they could do that. They would make the cabinets at their shop. He talked about the quiet glides on the drawers. I also asked about replacing hinges - my old ones made a popping noise when they closed. Kelly said yes that was doable. He also suggested replacing the narrow crown molding that was currently on the cabinets with something wider. I thought was a great idea! There was a shelf between the top of the cabinets and ceiling that I didn't really like....not high enough to display bigger things...small things didn't really show up. We talked about hardware for the cabinets, currently we did not have any. He said that would also help update the kitchen. I had been looking but had not found just what I wanted Kelly said they carried hardware and to come take a look at their shop. They had a great selection and I found exactly what I wanted! The reason I chose Cabinet Cures to refinish the kitchen was Kelly offered ideas how to take what we had and enhance it - like the crown molding idea and new cabinet hinges. The other companies I got bid from were only suggesting to replace the few hinges that were making noise. I also felt more comfortable that they would build the new drawer boxes at their shop. There was one bit of miscommunication - and that was my understanding we would replace all the existing drawers with the quiet close glides. It wasn't until they were doing the re-install that I understood the older drawers are made differently and you can't retrofit the new glides. At the visit for the estimate Kelly took basic measurements for the bid. After we signed the contract another worker came to take exact measurements for the new drawers. The work began on April 7 which fit our schedule beautifully. That gave me time to empty all the cabinets. One thing I wished Cabinet Cures had done was give me a check list how to best prepare for the workers. It did not occur to me they would need space to put the drawer boxes while they refinished the outside of the cabinets. I could have made more room in the area where I had put all the boxed up kitchen stuff. The two workers did not arrive until 11:00 am on Monday. There was also another day they were later than they said. A call from the office saying the workers were delayed would have been nice. This is why I gave a "B" on promptness. The workers were very efficient getting the job done. Monday they removed the doors and drawers and moldings. Then they put protective paper on the flat surfaces. Tuesday they sealed the doorways to the kitchen. Placed a huge exhaust hose from the kitchen to the outside then sanded and refinished the outside of the cabinets. That needed to "cure" for a day. There was not one bit of smell or dust in the house from this process. Wednesday they worked at the shop on the doors so I did not see the workers. On Thursday they put the cabinet doors and drawer fronts back on, re-installed the door and floor moldings, put up the new crown molding and installed the new deep drawers. Originally we had planned to replace two cabinets. However, when it came time to install one of the sets of drawers the workman noted that the drawer might hit the gas line going to the cook top. He suggested it safer to go with a shorter drawer. By going shorter I would loose 7 inches of storage space. I decided to not to install that set of drawers and go back to the original cabinet. Not a problem! With this change meant different hardware which they took care of ordering. They guys were cleaned up and done on Thursday. Friday I was unpacking and putting things back. The work, which is the most important part and is excellent, deserves an A!

First they are incredibly responsive to emails, phone calls, etc. Jamie, the designer is terrific. My wife has difficulty making decisions and Jamie really helped her come up with good options and simplified the process. They kept right on schedule and were able to accomplish the job even though we had to leave town suddenly for my mom's funeral. The end product looks very professional and greatly enhances the look of our kitchen without replacing our high end appliances and granite. There were a few minor imperfections and they have attended to them very quickly. I can most highly recommend them
