Jim does quality work, cleans up the work area, and ensures everything meets your expectations. He has a great variety of skills and did just what we needed him to do and I would definitely recommend him to others. He may not be the rock bottom cheapest guy in town in terms of prices, but for the work he is definitely very competitive.

I don't like having to use the letter grades - they don't tell the whole story, so here's the details: We had a piece of exterior trim going soft and of the contractors who came to look at the job, Jim had the most thorough estimate. His cost was middle-of-the-road, but we valued his quality more. Once we accepted the bid, he had another job to finish so he started the week following. Once he removed some trim and found dry rot, we decided to look under the rest of the trim and fix the lack of flashing. Our insurance agent wanted to see everything at once so Jim put up tarps over the exposed areas. Jim worked well with the insurance agent and the two communicated directly at times. He also documented the damage with his own camera. Unfortunately, the weather turned nasty and the water found a way in above the area that the tarps covered. When we told Jim that water had gotten in the house, he came out and put up extra tarps - but once the wind picked up at night the water still leaked in! So, Jim was out there, nearly three stories off the ground in a dark and stormy night trying to fix that leak - and he did! His "Responsiveness" grade should be A++. As a one-man shop, he can't be in two places at once - like a big business with hired hands can do - but he goes out of his way to be helpful. After that, finishing up the job went smoothly. In general, Jim is very organized, pays attention to detail, takes time to explain things and he's very easy to talk to. We'll be calling him again every year to recheck the caulking on the whole house and for any other repair or remodel job that fits his skills. P.S. After submitting this report, we noticed several places where the window screens were damaged during his other repairs. We contacted him again and he has since come by, picked up the screens and returned them as good as new. Thanks, Jim!

He did a great job. There was a problem with the shower pan; it was not leveled. He was wonderful to come right back and fix it. He made sure that I was satisfied. I spent $1,000 on the job. He saw things through. When I had a problem, he was so quick come back and resolve the issue. You can count on him to make sure that you are completely satisfied with the job. I cannot comment on the price since my husband had handled all the bids. I would use his services again in the future.

He seems to be flexible and willing to work and come up with a revised estimate. I would consider getting a quote from them in the future.

I called Jim, he responded very fast and came over quickly to give me an estimate for helping me finish the job. I was worried because workers usually don't like finishing someone else's work. However, he was very understanding and offered to finish it in a reasonable amount of time at a reasonable price. It was such a relief!He was cheerful and had good advice. I would definitely use him again and from the start of my project next time!

Jim was one of two Angie's list contacts I called to get estimates to repair a section of wood siding. The siding under the downspout near the 2nd story roof was badly warped, and I noticed what appeared to be mushrooms starting to grow a few feet away. Jim came out at the agreed time, discussed the job and wrote up and emailed me a bid. We could not know what he would find once he removed the siding -- would the insulation be covered with mold? would there be dry rot in the studs? -- so he wrote a basic estimate with some added detail to help me figure out how much the work might cost if bigger problems were hidden under the skin. We scheduled the work for 2 days when I would be able to be at home. The first day he took off the siding, and I was happy to find that there was no mold or additional dry rot (than what was visible near the drain pipe). He cut and replaced the pre-primed siding and trim. He returned two days later -- as planned -- to paint the new siding and to replace the drain pipe. I was anxious about paint splattering on my new patio pavers, but Jim and his assistant took great care to cover the area where they worked. And everything was cleaned up when they finished. Big Jim made the whole experience seem easy, and he even went the extra mile by installing a plastic trap for me at the top of the down spout.

It is a husband and wife, who came out initially. They were very friendly and nice. The business comprises of brothers who do the job. They did a good job and I will continue to use the same in future.

He did a bid and took some pictures of the job. He did the job in a timely manner and did a great job. He did the work for what he bid and did not ask for any more money.

It was kind of grunt work. He showed up when he was supposed to and did what he was supposed to do.

Jim came, gave me an estimate of what needed to be done and what he would do. Left long enough to go get materials, came back and finished up the job that day. Did a great job. Cleaned up well after himself.
