 + -1 moreAnctil's re-pipe crew was prompt, efficient and professional. They replaced all water pipes, from the street to the house and within the house. They worked hard and were considerate, informing us in advance when the water would be turned off. They left us each evening with a functioning kitchen and one bathroom and cleaned up after their work each day. Also installed a new kitchen sink and faucet. We had a bathroom remodeled at the same time and they worked well with the carpenter to accomplish the task. We can recommend them and would use in the future.

 + -1 moreGreat service! Arranged a day and time by telephone. Bill, who answered the telephone was pleasant, interested and efficient. Plumber called one half hour before he arrived, to provide a specific time of arrival. He arrived on time, was, clean, friendly, efficient and knowledgeable about the repairs. Patiently explained what he was doing and answered all my questions. Came prepared with all the parts he would need. When we turned on the water, discovered a leak in a bathroom faucet. The plumber, without a fuss or bother, fixed the leak in about five minutes. Again, he had the necessary parts on the truck. He cleaned up after himself, better than he found when he arrived. He asked us if we had the foundation plugs in, and the hoses disconnected from the outside faucets, and the faucet covers on the outside faucets. These were things that he did not have to ask, except for his concern for us avoiding future problems. Anctil is a great outfit. I called them because my next door neighbor had them do the plumbing work for a major bathroom update. He could not say enough positives about Anctil, and when I inspected the work, the work was excellent. I also checked Angie's List, and was impressed with Anctil's history. I also checked the internet, and found nothing negative. Some of the businesses that show up well on Angie's List, are not so hot when you did into their backgrounds. I would recommend Anctil to anyone, and assure you that I will use them again, anytime I have a plumbing problem, and when we update our bathrooms.
Description of Work: Replaced two shut off valves under the kitchen sink, and one washer/spring faucet control in the bathroom.

He said he would call back to schedule an appt. No one called. Last Thursday, we decided to give them a 2nd try on another, simpler project at a rental property I own - same treatment!

Since he needed to come back to finish, I added on some other plumbing issues that needed to be taken care of. All fixed as of trip #2. I Brian was pleasant, experienced, a good problem solver, and got the job done as explained.
Description of Work: Initial problem clogged kitchen sink but expanded to slow running toilet and leaky faucets. All fixed !

 + -1 moreI have to admit up front, I went with Anctil Plumbing because the good neighbor of my mother works with them. He came to my house and examined the issues that I had with a broken down shower stall and recommended I have the work done to repair now, before repairs became too expensive to do! Anctil initially was involved in installing a neo angle shower insert in my laundry room as the initial stage of a full renovation of the main and master baths in my home. This shower insert not only helped improve the home, but it gave us somewhere to clean up when the heavy work was being done on the other bathrooms. The installation of the shower went as planned and the crew was great. After that was complete, Anctil was the main plumbing contractor working on the re-pipe of our house and the reconfiguration of plumbing in our newly renovated bathrooms. The re-pipe hit a snag when working close to our main supply line...the crew discovered that at some stage the original pipe had been replaced incorrectly. The pipe wasn't installed deep enough to avoid freezing and the wrong type of pipe was used, so if it did freeze, that pipe would burst. The is added approx $2K to the job to relay the service pipe...but it was well worth it. All other work was done on time and passed inspection with ease. Although I have all this new plumbing in my house and would probably not have to use them again...I would if I needed them.

 + -1 morePlumber repaired dishwasher line replaced valve and checked for other leaks. I also asked that he replace valves under two toilets with 1/4 turn handles and new mesh flexible lines . Also asked him to replace inflow towers and flappers in those toilets. He went under the house(crawlspace) to check all lines for cracks and leaks and made some suggestions for insulation and rerouting the water turn off valve from outside in front of the house to under the crawlspace (easy to access in an emergency).I will certainly call them to make these adjustments. I was very happy with the work. The plumber was on time and completed everything in two hours.

 + -1 moreThey installed full plumbing for kitchen sink and repaired old sink in a bathroom. On second visit they installed upstairs sink and toilet, replaced rusting water line for toilet. They also inspected our tub, which was leaking very slowly and showed me the problem with the valve itself (30 years old and no longer made) and gave me some options for how to repair it. What I appreciated was that Brian explained how things worked simply and to the point. This is a person who understands his craft. I was really happy with the quality of the work. I also appreciated that I was able to email some photos of the plumbing to Bill before the job and find out what items I should buy ahead of time and what they would be bringing. This can save extra visits. It also gave him a scope of the project and how much time to allow. I would not contend that Anctil necessarily costs less than other competitors per hour but that you will get a good quality job and good value for the money.
Description of Work: Hired Anctil Plumbing last summer and then again this spring. Repair work performed: Plumbing of kitchen; Plumbing for a bathroom; repair work. My dollar amount is an approximate for the two visits.

 + -1 moreIt went very well. They were real problem solvers. The other companies (3 of them) said they could do the job with 2 men working for 2 days. From the beginning Anctil said it would be at least 4 days with 3 men. Having seen the work and the end result, I can not imagine the other companies being able to deliver on their work schedule for the prices they bid (which means that they may have come back looking for even more money). Anctil held to their estimate (the lowest) , did clean and high quality work, finished on time, and recommended an equally high quality company to restore the walls and ceilings to their original condition. The city inspector said it was a beautiful and high quality job. A big thank you to Anctil Plumbing.
Description of Work: As a result of two leaks in 1920's galvanized pipes ($675 by another company to fix the first leak that resulted in a second leak - bid at another $675 for repair), we decided to re-plumb the whole house. We did not automatically select the lowest bid (Anctil Plumbing), but we ended up doing so as they were highly recommended by our neighbors that knew them and used them for re-plumbing their home. Anctil Plumbing was the lowest bid and provided 2 plumbers and an apprentice each day for 4 days of nonstop hard work. They did a beautiful job and looked for ways to reduce the damage to floors, ceilings, and walls. They opened necessary walls, ceilings, and floors with clean - easy to repair openings, removed most of the old galvanized pipes and replaced it with PEX piping, added a shower head for a tub, added a water line for a refrigerator, installed a new pressure regulator valve for the house and balance valves for all 3 showers. They masked off all appropriate areas to minimize dust and dirt in the rest of the house and cleaned up and removed all debris. Cliff, Bryan, Duke, and Daniel all worked hard with little to no breaks during very hot weather (and with the air conditioner turned off).

 + -1 morei called Anctil plumbing Tuesday (1/31) to arrange to have a faucet replaced in my kitchen sink. They promised to consult their dispatcher to find an available time and said they would call back. I received no further communication from them so I used another, more highly graded service provider form Angie's List. This is not the first time I did not receive a follow up call from Anctil. In the past I have called them again to secure an appointment but decided not to continue to compensate for their poor communication.

 + 0 moreOver several years we have been trying to use Anctil to service and help with the system they installed. Now that I planned to get help elsewhere I feel that I can tell the community that they should avoid this company when it comes to in floor heating systems.
Description of Work: They installed the in-floor heating in our house. Our biggest issue with the system is control. When the room temperature drops the system is slow to respond. This is a given for radiant floor heating, but I have learned that there are techniques to improve that Anctil did not use and seemed unaware how to implement once I told them about it. First was an outside temperature probe that adjusts the boiler temperature up as the weather is cooler. This was demonstrated at a local home show and when informed Anctil did not know about it, nor were they willing to try and install it. When asked about different controllers they said that there were no others. Again at the home show other companies seemed to have solutions. We are going to try some smart controllers that know time of day and can turn on the system early and turn off at night. The installation of the tubing in the floor did not take into account the large windows in the home. Maybe this should have been specified by the architect or the general contractors might have known better, but surely Anctil should take into account that the heat from large windows needs compensation. The room has a clear temperature gradient and it actually feels like a draft. When there is a strong wind coming against those windows the system cannot keep up to keep the room above 64 degrees. Recently we have had one zone control fail. Four times I have been promised a call back for scheduling. There seems to be some issue at the company, but they are not forthcoming to tell people to go elsewhere.

 + 0 moreOur toilet was leaking. We contact Anctil and they were able to come the following day. The plumber QUICKLY removed the toilet. (about 3 minutes--I was so impressed!) He didn't find any problems, so he decided to replace the inside toilet parts. The job was finished by reinstalling the toilet and cleaning up. There was no mess. Nothing to clean up. AND it was all done within one hour! The only thing I wasn't expecting was the extra charge for the parts. I would like to have known what the cost of the toilet parts were before they were installed; however, it was minimal and the job was done so quickly I was more thankful for the time saved!

They do the best job and even pro-rate their time. They are pleasant, courteous and prompt and know what they are doing. If they can save me some money, they will. I have called them lots of times, and they have helped me over the phone, thereby saving me the service call charges. They usually try and send me the same technician, so I can have a rapport. It has been very nice working with them over the years. I cannot say enough good things about them. They are the best on the planet. I would rate them highly and would continue to use them in the future.

They did a good job of getting back to me in a timely manner. Their price was reasonable and I think that they did a great job.  + -1 moreAnctil provided the same genetleman who services my area and has come in the past. I was so emabarrassed when the first thing he did was unscrew the faucet and exposed the clogged little filter which worked great when it was washed out. Also, our neighborhood is frought with drainage problems and I also thought I might have a leak in the pipe leading to an outdoor faucet. He crawled down my dark and dank 30 year old crawl space, thoroughly checked it out and returned to tell me everything was in working order and copper piped - though I could use some new visquine! Anyway, it wasn't as bad as I thought. At some time in the future I plan to remodel one or both bathrooms and I won't call anyone else for a bid. Just an honest, professional plumbing company from start to finish.
Description of Work: My needs to address were 1) a clogged bathroom faucet, and 2) examine crawlspace for any leakage in preparation for a home appraisal. The price I've shown is from memory and is really more of a guess. But the only thing I paid for was the basic service call fee whatever it is.
