They are excellent and I really like them. They are timely and professional. Their price is fine and it’s what everyone else charges.

We were buying a house and our home inspector found mold growing in the attic, probably due to inadequate ventilation. We asked the sellers to get it cleaned up as a sale contingency. So they were the ones who hired Alpha, not us. After a week or so they presented us with a 2-page report, written by Alpha, detailing the work they did. When I read it, it sounded like boiler-plate "we are not responsible" wording, which, along with the only (very negative) review here on Angie's List, indicated I should have our inspector come back out to check the work. Although their report said they had cleaned and sprayed a 15-square foot area, our inspector found that only a very small section, about 2x2 feet had been cleaned and primed. There were many other untreated areas of mold visible just from the attic access door, and there were no other footprints in the attic insulation indicating they had gone elsewhere around to even check for other hidden areas. He took pictures and we forwarded them to the sellers. The sellers had him come back out, after which we received another report, shorter this time, basically saying, "ok we're really all done now". By this point our sale was going to close in a few days, and we decided that whether or not they had actually fixed it, we would just go through with it, and fix it ourselves if it was still lacking. So that's where we are now, we just moved in a week ago and haven't yet been up there to inspect the finished product. I will add notes to this review when we have checked it. If it still needs work, we will hire a different company.

It went fine. They were efficient, knowledgeable and I would recommend them. I would use them again.

Alpha Environmental Services has excellent customer service skills and very personable people that work for them. However, if you are going to get any work done through them I strongly suggest you get a third party to test their work. I did - and I am very happy that I did. The situation in our case was as follows: 1) Wood Floor Company detected mold in our home as we were installing floors. They reccomended Alpha. 2) Alpha came to our home - evaluated the sitation and determined a price to remidiate all the mold and create a healthy living space. 3) Alpha did come to our home - spent approximately one day doing mold remidiation. 4) Approximately 2 weeks later, I asked a third party inspector to provide me with a lab report stating that all the mold had been removed. (Just in case we were to sell the house, I wanted to have on record that the house now had a clean bill of health) 5) Inspector evaluted the space and determined that significant mold existed in the area that was supposed to be remidiated. 6) Called Phil to inform of the situation. He was dissapointed and told me that he guesses that he did not inspect the entire area and proceeded to tell me how expensive the inspection company was. 7) Phil very kindly agreed to come out and inspect the situation and determine the problem. 8) As it turns out our home had a engineering problem - which was or was not detected at the time of inspection. I heard multiple versions of this story. 9) Phil agreed to come out fix the mold and reccomended John's Waterproofing to fix the engineering problem. 10) A few days prior to Alpha remidiating the mold for the second time - I received a call from the office manager. She asked me who they should bill for the fix up work. I was a little suprised - I was not sure why I should be financially reponsible for this oversight. 11) I talked to Phil and told him that I was not going to pay for them to fix the work. Phil said that he understood - but he was going to give me a discount. 12) After much discussion, Phil agreed to fix the work at no charge. If Alpha was aware of the engineering problem from the on-set and did not inform me of it. I would be disapointed. That failure in communication cost me several hundred dollars in inspection fees - and think what could have happened if I did not hire the third party inspector. We would still be living with mold - after we assumed that they had done their job correctly. If you do go with Alpha - I think that you will find their people kind, knowledgeable and courteous. However, for sitations such as this - I highly reccomend you get an inspector to evaluate their work.

Overal, the project went smooth. It was much bette than I had anticipated.

They are the best oil-tank locating & radon remediation company in the state of Oregon. I’m a real estate agent and I’ve worked with 150-200 buyers over the past ten years. Almost every one of them has worked with this company and they've done exceptional work! They’re responsive, always available, and are more thorough than any other company that I’ve worked with.

Great - they were fast, responsive. Bit pricier than others, but were able to do the work without permits because of their techniques. House has tested low for radon, so their system is working!

A site visit produced an estimate of $1345 for mold remediation in 2 areas. The estimate stated that the project would require 2 days and the use of an air scrubber for 24 hours following completion of the mold remediation. The technicians arrived promptly, were professional and courteous, but the job was completed in 3 hours 10 minutes, including unloading equipment, setup and clean up. They said it was very simple and they found no live mold. Therefore, they felt that the use of an air scrubber was unnecessary. Alpha Environmental revised the bill for a 2 day job and 24 hour air scrubber from $1345 to $975 for a 3 hour job. Upon questioning, they stated that the labor cost alone for the 3 hour job was $780. They stated they had to include labor time for the initial "free" estimate, time to write up the estimate, travel time, all of which is reasonable, but when asked how that could add up to $780, they said they had to include their other business costs such as "advertising, telephone, painted advertisements on their trucks..." They were not willing to make any further adjustments. It was a very unsatisfactory transaction.

Price was better than competition, work done in good time frame altho did not arrive "first thing" as promised, requiring a call to the office to see if they forgot the appt. Did their work and covered it back up, no mess, no fuss.

Very high quality work and extremely professional. They did quote a faster installation date when we received the quote, but when it came to scheduling it was about 2 weeks longer than expected. However, they were able to accomplish the work and still make the house sale date. The installer was extremely knowledgeble (almost to a fault), but it was clear from the beginning they knew their radon mitigation. The installer actually brought a binder and had lots of good pictures of previous installs. for every question he had a document or picture. Increased my confidence.

They were great. The owner and members of his team were responsive, prompt and professional.

I live in one of four attached townhouses. One owner discovered radon. The owners decided to get bids and receive presentations from three contractors. While Alpha did not have the best salesman nor the lowest price, we were unanimous in Alpha's favor. We were concerned about quality and appearance. Richard, the project manager, gave us confidence in his approach to solving the problem in the most efficient way. He took it step by step. No scare tactics. The ducting to the interior units was minimized and not obtrusive. The exhaust fans blend well with the building. We got feedback every step of the way. It took almost a week and then several site visits to tweak the systems. Professional and focused.

They had to test to ensure that it was not black mold, which is a specific strain. The results showed that there was no black mold, and then they did a cleaning with some kind of a sanitizing solution. They removed all the debris and treated the wood surface. The quality of work was very good and I was very happy with it. They were less expensive than most of the people I talked to. They were punctual, very responsive and answered all my questions.

Doug was very professional and responsive. Although we ultimately chose another company, I appreciated his thorough estimate and help in understanding the remediation process.

In the process of buying a house we found that the underground oil tank had been leaking. In our agreement to purchase the house, it was agreed that the seller would hire someone to clean up the contamination, decommission the tank, and install a new tank. They hired Alpha Environmental. Alpha performed soil testing, decommissioned the tank, and installed a new tank in the basement of our house. We were very concerned about the oil leak and clean-up process. The people at Alpha were fantastic about answering our questions at length and going over the process with us. They spent a significant amount of time making sure we felt comfortable with what was happening. Doug and Richard at Alpha were really great. Richard installed the tank and did a great job. He was very open to feedback about where the vents/fill would be placed, and took the time to go over all my options as well as explain to me different issues involved with the tank and tank placement. My only concern is that when I had the new tank filled, I got a note from the oil company that the fill pipe was too short. I'm not sure how much of a problem this is, or how legitimate it is since they were able to fill the tank, and Alpha seemed very concerned about doing everything to code.

It went very well overall. Alpha Environmental took the time to understand my concerns, and I felt like they were working in my best interest the whole time. They were punctual and efficient. They completed the work in less time than they estimated.

Wayne and his assistant were good to deal with for estimating and showed up on time. However, from there the project did not go as planned. I told them at least twice that we intended to keep the tub and also to remove another small wall if there was mold in it. They didn't seem to be very tidy or careful in general. They tracked debris from our upstairs bathroom down the hall and stairs and out the door. And they chipped our tub in at least two large places. I'm pretty sure we could have done a better job ourselves. After seeing the chipped tub I got quotes on refinishing the tub and that would cost about $400, so I asked them to deduct that from the estimate. Any respectable company would have done that. Instead Wayne agreed to deduct two-thirds of that because they made two chips and we already had one in the tub. We ended up removing that other small wall ourselves because it still had mold in it. Overall we were really disappointed in this company and their service.

Alpha Environmental Services tested the tank and the grounds around it and decommissioned the oil tank. They were very responsive and got the work done in the time frame we required. They provided a well-written report that satisfied the State and our purchaser. And they kept the area neat with as little disturbance as possible.
