From the beginning of both jobs Alex and his crew were friendly and personable. Very easy to work with. They listened to what we wanted, helped us make the appropriate decisions. They communicated everything, if there would be any delays, when certain things would happen, what time of day they would be there and who would be there. He introduced us to all the crew members. Alex checked on the progress frequently. If we had any questions or concerns they were answered and dealt with. All aspects of the job were done flawlessly. The tile work is beyond beautiful. We have plans for more remodeling and we will be calling Alex.
Description of Work: Total Bathroom and Kitchen Remodel: Both rooms gutted down to studs. Went very well. No delays, staff and subs were always on time and cleaned up before they left. All were great to work with. All of the workmanship was first rate.
Description of Work: Alex completely remodeled our upstairs bath, excluding the shower which had been done two years previously. Alex and his crew replaced the vinly flooring with ceramic tile, the bathroom vanity with two pedestal sinks, installed two new doors, replaced Sheetrock and insulation on one wall, installed two inset framed medicine cabinets, installed new toilet and fan. They did a beautiful job, on time and on budget. The price quoted in this review was for the work that Alex did. I purchased all fixtures, doors, tile, etc separately and like having a remodel done this way, i.e. not having the cost of fixtures, etc. bundled into the contractor price. They did such a great job that I had Alex and his crew do a slightly less expansive remodel of our downstairs guest bath this past July, which involved replacing vinyl floor with tile, installation of new light fixture, fan, and toilet. They did a great job. When it comes time for my kitchen remodel, I will be calling Alex. I strongly recommend his company!

This was the best experience I've had with a contractor in 22 years of home ownership. Scott Rogers, project manager for Alex Freddi, listened well from the estimate visit through the final punchlist items. He made thoughtful suggestions and checked back throughout the process to make sure we were aligned on what was wanted in the job. We communicated regularly about our expectations on progress and the timing of activities throughout the job. Scott kept everything well coordinated and responded very effectively when there were minor 'bumps' in the schedule. Scott always got back to me promptly when I had a question. Sean, the site lead on the job, was always pleasant in responding to questions, and never seemed to mind when I was able to watch the crew work. Sean's trim work was impeccable. He projected the kind of concern for quality on the job that made you feel like he was working on his own house. He was here promptly every morning, and kept an astonishingly tidy work area, certainly more than I ever have. I spent many years as a commercial cabinetmaker, and have had many people reporting to me in manufacturing roles. I've seen a broad range of performance. Somehow, Alex Freddi attracts top notch construction talent. If you want the best, you should call these guys.
Description of Work: We had a leak from the shower in our master bath, which I discovered in the garage below the bathroom. I had been anticipating remodeling this shower, and the leak 'forced my hand'. Alex Freddi construction took the existing tile shower enclosure down to the studs, did mildew abatement on framing that had gotten damp, and moved the drain to accommodate a newer style 'hair-trap' drain. They reduced the doorway perimeter for the shower entrance, lowering the threshold, raising the header, and reducing the jambs at the sides, to give the shower enclosure a more 'open' look and feel. To get this bathroom more useable space, I had AF open up the interior wall and install a pocket door to replace the conventional swinging door. Shower walls were replaced with Hardibacker, then the walls were glass tiled to a custom design that my wife worked out with Suzanne at Pro Design. AF seems to work closely with her on many jobs, and it was a great asset to have that relationship. Frameless glass door came from DT Glass, also a well established AF supplier.

From the very first meeting I could tell that Alex and Mike were going to work out. I had met with a couple of other contractors and was not impressed. Alex walked all around my house checking plumbing and electric so he had a clear idea of what he would be dealing with in order to give me what I wanted. He warned me up front about a couple of things that might end up costing me a lot more money than another solution. I really appreciated his honesty. He was always prompt about getting me the bid and paperwork when we moved forward. Mike was the project manager and was also very professional and was a great communicator. He always called/texted me back quickly when I had a question. They addressed all concerns we had along the way and I couldn't have been happier working with them.
Description of Work: Alex and Mike totally remodeled my master bedroom suite, moving walls and doors and constructing my gorgeous new bathroom. They also took care of lots of other repairs that needed to be completed before we moved into our new house. They were incredibly professional and respectful. The price was fair and didn't change at payment time. I would and will be hiring them again in the future.

When I first called, I was told it would take 2 weeks to come out for an estimate. Then they called and pushed that out another week. He seemed overwhelmed by the project and called back two hours later just giving me an hourly rate for T&M.

Response from ALEX FREDDI CONSTRUCTION LLC
After spending over an hour walking through the partially finished/partially unfinished basement with the owner, it was obvious that the scope of work had not yet been clearly defined.
The space was very large and included many different add-ons done throughout the years. It was almost certain that the scope of work would have changed once we started the job. We tried to explain this, and the affect that it would have on the price, to the owner.
Given the circumstances, it would have been virtually impossible and unprofessional to provide a specific price for the project. Instead we suggested that the most reasonable way to do the work would be on a “time and material” basis. We also offered our time and support to work with the owner, step by step, to get a more defined solution to the numerous issues associated with the project.
In regards to the timeline, we strive to provide accurate and free estimates for our clients. To do so in a timely manner, we respond to all requests in the order in which they are received. In all honesty, we find this review to be very harsh, given our efforts to provide a realistic view of the situation, and given the time we invested in walking through the project, offering creative suggestions and honest solutions. We did all of this at no cost to the homeowner. Thank you for taking the time to hear our side of the story.

Alex and his two assistants Kyle and Mike did a great job. They gave us a bid for the work and never deviated from that cost unless there was something that could definitely be considered an "extra". They were timely, and did not take a few days off during the job, as many contractors seem to do. They had a few subcontractors they brought in for for plumbing and tile work that also did a great job. Alex is very easy to work with and is a very good communicator. We basicaly had nightly calls or emails updating the progress of the work and he promptly answered any concerns that I had. We had quite a bit more dry rot than anticipated and Alex was more than fair with his extra cost for the dry rot repair. We will be remodeling our other upstairs bathroom next year and will definitely use Alex for that project.
Description of Work: Master bathroom remodel included tear down, subfloor repalcement with some dry rot repair including Hardibacker and vapor barrier on floor and shower surround, new shower pan and curb including mortar bed and waterproofing membrane, drain fixture and shower head installation including plumbing, tub fixture and drain instalation, new tile on floor, shower and tub surround, vanity backsplash, new toilet installation and plumbing, vanity light outlets, wiring and installation, new drywall in bathroom and behind vanity, flush-mounted mirror installation, tile baseboard installation.

Scott was very professional, understood exactly what I wanted and got back to me promptly with a bid as well as a revised bid after I changed one aspect of the job. I felt his price was very fair though I ultimately decided to go with another contractor primarily because his company doesn't include materials in their bids, and I didn't want to take the time to shop and do the buying myself. Based on my experience with him, however, I would definitely recommend him to others for him getting materials yourself isn't a problem. (They do provide a list of suppliers if you want to do that.)
Description of Work: Removal of one basement-to-garage door, close in that space and open up another door in order to create space to rebuild widers and less steep basement stairs. Would have required movement of gas water heater and gas and electrical lines.

From our first contact with Alex Freddi when he came to take a look at the project to the completion of our punchlist approximately 3 months later, our experience was positive. Despite the fact that their bid was not the lowest one of the contractors who submitted quotes, we decided on Alex Freddi Construction because of their professionalism. And we are very glad we did. Scott, our Project Manager, Saun and Mike were not only hardworking, concientious and professional - they are nice folks as well. All of their sub-contractors (electrician; plumber; flooring, and tilers were not only skilled but very professional as well). All our questions, concerns and requests during the renovation process were promptly addressed, and their insights and recommendations were helpful. And a bonus -- we were able to move into our new place on the date that we had planned on. A positive experience with Alex Freddi Construction all around.
Description of Work: We engaged Alex Freddi Construction to do the following renovations in our home: Remove wall-to-wall carpeting and install floating wood flooring; remove popcorn ceilings and paint all ceilings & walls; extend kitchen and master bathroom; replace all kitchen cabinets, countertops, backsplash and appliances; replace floor & wall tiles in bathrooms; replace electrical panels and all electrical fixtures; add laundry room.

They were extremely professional and attentive throughout the bidding and construction process. The ultimate repair was not as extensive as I feared as they were able to creatively use a knee brace. The end result has been a pleasure to look at and has added value to the bedroom that opens up on it. The view from the kitchen is unimpeded. I appreciate their human touch and hassle free approach as well as their competence in designing and executing on a project ten feet in the air! I would use them again, no hesitation.
Description of Work: We had Alex Freddi replace a second floor wooden balcony/deck which had been improperly flashed and rotted out. There was uncertainty about the extent of the damage to the supporting beams and siding, and how much the final cost would be, and what the design should look like given that the kitchen was located below and we wanted to keep the view unobstructed by the balcony. The supporting beams ran into the interior of the house and presented a possibly large scale project depending on the extent of the rot.

No remodeling job is without it's suprises! But what I like about working with Alex Freddi is that the surprises never come from the crew! Windows had to be custom ordered which slowed things down by about a week. The framing which was already in was in pretty good shape, but we decided to tear it all out so that the concrete walls could be dry-locked really well. The electrical wire was literally melted through in one spot and so more of that had to be dealt with than we'd originally intended. And the foundation walls started crumbling when the original window frames were removed. But aside from these, pretty normal, hitches, everything worked smoothly. The workers showed up on time, kept the living areas clean and the floors protected, worked hard and cleaned up after themselves. Anytime a decision had to be made, I was consulted. Advice was given when it was asked for and sometimes when I didn't know to ask for it.The finished product is beautiful. Simple, but beautiful. This is the third job Alex Freddi has done for me and I'll call him when I've saved up enough money for the next one!
Description of Work: I had a partially (and badly) finished room in my basement which I wished to have finished properly. Alex's crew removed the partial finishing, the really bad fake walnut paneling, framing raised floor, dry-locked the concrete walls (two exterior walls), reframed the four walls of the room rewired all the electrical including new lights and placed junction boxes where none had been(!), insulated, dry-walled, mudded, sanded, and painted. I forgot the windows. There are two windows in the room. While we thought the frames could be salvaged, they were dry-rotted and had to be torn out. When they were removed, the foundation wall around the windows started crumbling away. But Alex's crew framed them up nicely and put in new windows. No more leaking as the recent weather has amply proven!

First things first: Go with Alex Freddi and have peace of mind knowing you made the best choice! Initial phone call and estimate in person were perfect. Alex is very "hands on" and was always the person I spoke with. Alex is extremely courteous and professional, but not "stuffy"---very likeable and a great personality. He was super quick w/ providing my estimate, and extremely fair and detail oriented. When speaking w/him, it is obvious that he is really listening to you, and that his number one goal is for his customers to be happy throughout the whole process and with the end result. I am very indecisive, and Alex helped me out w/decision making and never made me feel like I was a bother, when I had a hundred questions or concerns. He introduced me to others that would be doing the work, so that I was comfortable w/who would be in the house. If I emailed Alex, I received a very quick response---same w/phone calls being returned. During the work, no one was inconvenienced and it was a pleasure having Alex and employees around. Alex maintained contact w/me throughout the entire job. They beautifully repaired the walls, added new trim, painted rooms, installed cabinetry and flooring to the basement level, which was water damaged. Everyone was happy with the results! This was a positive experience on all levels. Thank you so much Alex Freddi Construction for all of your hard work. I would and will recommend you to anyone and everyone who needs help w/their home. We bought a small mid-century modern house that badly needed some updates, and we had some definite ideas about what we wanted to do, but my talents, time, and tools are limited. The kitchen was first on the list, but we had a lot of ideas about other areas of the house, too. We knew we needed professional help, but we wanted to find someone that could help us translate our ideas into reality under our limited budget. From my first call to Alex Freddi Construction, I was pretty sure we had found our professional. Alex came to the house promptly and walked through it with me as I explained my ideas for the kitchen and everything else. He patiently listened to everything I said, and made helpful comments that were clearly based on experience when I talked about removing walls, adding recessed lights, and installing new windows. All of my ideas were met with a "can do" response, but tempered with comments about the reality of doing so. For example, I mentioned that we were considering a "wet room" concept for one of the bathrooms i.e. where the entire floor would be sloped to a central drain. Alex said that this would certainly be possible, and then described in detail what structural changes would have to be made to implement this idea. His comments were non-judgmental, but they helped me decide to nix this idea. Within a day after the tour, Alex provided me with a detailed estimate of the work we discussed. He also assured me that they would work with me if I wanted to do some of the work such as deconstruction or anything else. Alex and Mike S. showed up promptly on the day we were to begin. Mike was along on some previous visits while we were estimating, and would be the person doing most of the actual work. Great progress happened the first day, and it continued throughout the project. Mike was a great communicator, and we addressed issues as they came up. Some of our ideas required some clever workarounds, and Mike was very good at implementing them. For example, we needed to hide our small sized washer and dryer inside cabinets that looked like the rest of the kitchen cabinets (laundry is in the kitchen area). IKEA does not make cabinets for this purpose, and Mike had to figure out everything from positioning the water inlets to how to make the units accessible for maintenance while still hiding them inside the cabinets. This hidden laundry area was one of the great successes of the project. Mike also never forgot our decisions, and if any issue arose, Mike was quick to call and explain the options so that I could make a decision on how to proceed. When the old kitchen wall insulation was revealed, Mike let me decide whether or not to replace it (we did!). We wanted to run the new floor completely under the cabinets (separate contractor), and Mike was helpful in coordinating the cabinet installation with the floor installation. There were no surprises on the final bill. All of the work was performed at the agreed upon price, and the additional work I requested was clearly identified. I pointed out a discrepancy about a window that we decided not to replace during the project, and Alex was quick to make the adjustment. Overall, the project concluded well, and the quality of Mike's work was outstanding.
Description of Work: Install IKEA kitchen cabinets and appliances after extensive site preparation, remove soffits, update the related plumbing and electrical, install 3 new windows, install range vent, move a doorway, and all of the other little things that go along with a project like this.

The whole process was a pleasure, from set-up to take-down. They were always careful and considerate about leaving our space clean when work was done for the day. Kyle was friendly and easygoing, and if he had questions about how I wanted something done, he made sure to check in with me. He did a beautiful job!
Description of Work: We had the pleasure of working with Alex last year, when he did a wonderful (albeit modest) bathroom remodel for us. This time, Alex and Kyle installed a laminate flooring in our guest room. I really cannot praise them highly enough-- no matter how small the job, they always take the utmost care and consideration every step of the way. Alex and Kyle are both friendly, professional, reliable, honest, and total perfectionists-- they always do an incredibly thorough job, when many other contractors would take shortcuts or hurry through a project. We are first-time homeowners, and Alex has been amazingly patient with all of our "newbie" questions, taking the time to explain details to us, never in a condescending way. Truly, we can't wait to save up for another project, and when we do, we will definitely be calling Alex again. Highest recommendation!

Alex met with my husband and discussed our vision for the bathroom. I was pregnant at the time and had envisioned laboring at home, with the aid of a more comfortable tub that actually allowed for soaking and had jets. Alex knew we had a time crunch as I was in my last 6 weeks of pregnancy. He gave us a list of vendors to visit for ideas, options and pricing. He also helped to iron out our ideas into something affordable and elegant. He also squeezed us into his schedule because of my pregnancy and labor plans. The subcontractors were all really nice, efficient, and pleasant to have in my home. This was especially a big plus because I was so far along and uncomfortable. Being uncomfortable in my own home would have been unbearable. The only delay in the work was due to the bathtub being chipped. This had nothing to do with Alex and his guys!! They inspected the tub and immediately let us know there was a problem. They even tried to help us have the tub replaced expeditiously. We would definitely hire Alex and his team again.

Alex Freddi Construction did a 700 sq ft addition to our 900 sq ft ranch-style home. We wanted more space for our growing family, including a more open and modernized floor plan. The team from Alex Freddi Construction did a wonderful job. They were friendly, easy to work with and helped us to stay within our budget as well as keeping us updated with how the progress was going. Most importantly, they completed the job within the specified time limit, which was a good thing because we had our second baby on the way.Since our project began in February, the crew faced some of the muddiest, rainiest days of the year. Despite the initial environmental setbacks, they pushed through with a positive outlook and were always professional, polite, and happy to answer our questions. After hearing so many stories of wildly spiraling, over budget additions we were nervous to take the leap, but thankfully, our experience was better than we had even hoped for.We now have an open, light-filled great room, plus a new master bedroom and bathroom. It has made a monumental difference in how we use and feel about our home. We are so thankful for the experience and professionalism from the Alex Freddi Construction team, and would recommend them to anyone looking to do an addition or a remodeling project of any kind.

I contacted Alex Freddi for a bid to remodel a bathroom. The experience was positive, living up to Angie's List reviews. He was the only contractor who pointed out that the toilet flange did not need to be moved, it was at the correct rough-in location. It was the toilet tank that was the issue. It was fatter than average; the tank rested against the wall. We could not even get a piece of paper between tank and wall. This would not be the case with a new toilet. However, my husband and I did not hire Alex Freddi because he provided a bid for labor only and it was too difficult for us to determine what the final project would cost nor were we able to compare his bid to other bids. To be fair, he did tell me this when he arrived for the bid interview but we didn't realize that "labor only" meant that all materials, including drywall, etc, would be excluded. If we'd had the time to do the research to obtain costs for all materials - tile, toilet, tub, lighting, construction materials, etc - it may not have been an issue but we don't have that luxury. We need to put that bathroom back together asap. I explained this to Alex when I called to let him know that we had chosen another contractor. He was understanding and wished us well with our project. If there was a "maybe" choice for "Would you use this company/individual again in the future?", I would have selected it. Under the right circumstances, we would contact him again to bid on another project.

We went with Alex Freddi for our kitchen remodel because of his high ratings on Angie?s List, and we were not disappointed. Alex truly is a dream contractor: He knows his stuff, he listens and communicates well, he has the respect of his crew and subcontractors, and he is a wonderful human being with a great deal of personal integrity. From our first exploratory meeting with Alex, it was clear that he would be easy to communicate with. We had a productive discussion, he listened to us, he thought things through, and he made some insightful recommendations. He demonstrated a perfect balance of being able and willing to offer suggestions and explain the pros and cons, but then always leaving the decision up to the client. These qualities continued throughout the job. Pretty much everything went smoothly in this project ? which is saying something, because it was fairly complicated: a full kitchen remodel in a small space (in an old house) that posed some constraints and did not allow much room for error. Most of the day-to-day work was done by assistants Mike and Kyle, who were both terrific ? good carpenters and very friendly, professional, and easy to work with. Alex came by frequently, was always available by phone or email, and did not hesitate to get his hands dirty and go to work on something himself when it was needed. Midway through our project Alex suffered a soccer injury that normally confines most people to home for many weeks. Yet he managed a speedy recovery and soon was driving himself to our place and would hobble up to the door on crutches to check in, when we and his crew fully expected he should have been back home in bed! His commitment to his work and his clients really shined through during this time. One aspect of Alex?s policy that many people will appreciate is that he is willing to leave much of the purchasing of materials up to the client. This means you are not paying him a contractor?s markup on these items. In addition, you save still more money because he allows you to use his contractor?s discount when you purchase the materials. Between these two policies, the client can save many hundreds, or even thousands, of dollars. And this actually does NOT mean more time investment for the client. In our previous remodel of other areas of our house, we bought many materials through the contractor for that job, paying a markup, but still had to invest all our time up front to research and select items ? AND then had to deal with the fallout when that contractor made mistakes in ordering. In contrast, with Alex?s approach, you invest little or no extra time, but save much money and gain the peace of mind that you?ll get exactly the items that you want. With our kitchen project, we had elected at the outset to have the cabinets and countertop installed by a cabinet company. Alex responded very professionally, telling us that this would complicate things slightly and that he would feel better about being responsible for the installation himself, but letting us make the decision and saying that he was open to coordinating with any other contractor. Well, the one aspect of the job where we departed from working with Alex was the one aspect where things went awry. We experienced a number of problems with the cabinet company (covered in a separate Angie?s List report), and this meant that we had to ask Alex for some flexibility as certain stages of his work had to wait for the cabinets and countertop to be completed. Speaking of flexibility, I?ll say one more thing in praise of Alex and his crew. They were very flexible and accommodating as new things came up during the project. We modified some of our requests, and they made a few discoveries during demo and construction, and in all instances we discussed things and worked out a solution. They were happy to install a beadboard ceiling in the room adjacent to the kitchen, for instance ? something that had not been in the original plan. In sum, we are very happy with our new kitchen, and we?d give Alex Freddi the highest recommendation possible.
Description of Work: Full Kitchen Remodel: Demo and reconstruction of soffits and an arched entryway, new floors, new appliances, tile installation, electric, plumbing, ductwork, drywall installation, painting. Also new ceiling and trim in adjacent room.

Alex helped us through the process of a partial kitchen remodel. He initially provided an estimate for a full kitchen remodel but we decided to keep the old cabinets and flooring. He directed us to several different places where we could look at granite and quartz and gave us some suggestions on the different types of windows. Several times throughout the process there were some "little" things that we thought we could complete ourselves. It turns out we aren't very handy. Alex was always considerate and willing to come back and finish the project himself. He tore out the old countertop and was very careful not to damage the cabinets since we kept them. He had to remove some lath and plaster from the walls before he could install hardie backer for the tile backsplash. He also installed a custom built cabinet that we had made and screwed it into the floor. It seems nothing was quite level anymore so Alex had to take extra time to make everything look right. He built a new window trim for our new window and it looks great. One of my favorite things about Alex is that he is so easy to get a hold of. He answers emails and texts almost immediately (and I had plenty of questions) and was very easy to work with. He was also flexible with his schedule and always seemed to make his schedule fit with ours. I would highly recommend Alex for any project.
Description of Work: Alex helped us do a partial remodel of our kitchen. We had granite countertops, a tile backsplash, and a new window installed. Since our house is 85 years old it took a little bit of extra TLC.

The complete experience from Planning, Demolition, Reconstruction, Finish work was just exceptional. Not only was all the work completed with exceptional craftsmanship, the communication process was impecable.Alex, Kyle, and Mike were all great people to work with.Alex, made a number of great suggestions to both streamline the project and provided value-added suggestions for improving the overall look. He suggested installing a couple of tube skylights, which "made" the remodel in our Main Bathroom. While his team was here, I kept adding on other projects, mostly because I was so pleased with everything else they were doing. Had them install a whole house fan, which kept our home cool during the entire Summer. They will be the first company we will look to for future projects. We had them demolish our main bathroom and completely remodel; bathtub, tile flooring, tile tub surround, custom vanity, granite top, inset mirrors, sound insulated walls, skylights, all new electrical, plumping, towel fixtures. We had them finish our Master bath, Tile surround, tile flooring, new electrical.

Given the fact that we did a major remodel, the job went very well. Alex's bid came in very close to accurate (within about $500), and although the job ended up taking two weeks longer than the 2-3 weeks estimated, it was clear that the delays were beyond anyone's control (dry wall didn't dry as quickly as anticipated, the tub I order was a left drain rather than a right drain although it said right drain on the box and also was as flimsy as a piece of cardboard which had to be returned. Alex's truck got stolen from another job, so I had trash in my drive way longer than expected, but Alex's workers were SO careful about stacking stuff up so that it was unobtrusive that it was simply not a problem. We had to order a few more tiles because Alex and I had not taken into account things like framing the window as nicely as the tiler ended up doing and of course we figured that out after 5pm just before the 4th of July weekend!) But from the outset, Alex encouraged me to do the job right - to get all new fixtures rather than just a new shower head. To get good tiles rather than the cheap ones from Home Depot I was restricting myself to. When he went to pick up the tub and found out how flimsy it was, he called my attention to it and advised me to get one that would last longer. I am so happy that I listened to every word he said! My bathroom is gorgeous now. In addition to the craftsmanship, all of Alex's employees were wonderful to work with and around. Polite, friendly, honest, straightforward. They kept in good contact with me either directly or through Alex. I never felt the slightest bit odd about having strangers in my house. And when the job was finished, I hardly had any clean-up to do. Alex's team left the house sparkling. They hauled away all the debris that had collected and a few extra bits as well. It was a 100%, fine, old-school job. Alex is the only contractor I will ever call to do work on my home.
Description of Work: I hired Alex's team to completely remodel my bathroom. It's the only one in the house, so it's a pretty important room. Alex did a smaller finishing job for me a few years ago and he so impressed me then that he was the only person I called. He came over, discussed with me what I wanted to have done, talked pros and cons with me (tile floor vs vinyl vs cork; full tub tile surround vs partial tile surround; keeping the tub vs getting rid of it to gain space and just having a shower). And as I was choosing tile and flooring and paint, he was happy to consult with me and referred me to great people who had good advice too about a major remodel. Before any work was started, Alex's team put paper down from the mudroom (which Alex finished for me years ago, when he was just starting out) through the kitchen, dining room and hallway so that no floor damage would occur. They removed all the fixtures (including cabinets, toilet, sink, vanity, shower, tub) and took the bathroom down to the lathe and plaster where they found no dry rot and no water damage (thank goodness) but some pretty funky wiring. The wiring was replaced, new subfloor installed, walls prepped for tile, hardibacker installed in the floor and on the walls. The walls were mudded, and painted, new floor tiles installed, tub surround was beautifully and meticulously tiled, with so much attention to the aesthetic of how the tiles were placed I still can't get over it. Walls and ceiling were painted, new sink installed, new heat vent installed, new shower head and fixtures, new cubby in the shower, new light fixtures, new medicine cabinet, old toilet (new seat!) and an old cabinet reinstalled. I am sorely in need of remodeling the rest of the house to make up for my gorgeous new bathroom!

Everything listed above is complete and the workmanship is excellent. After the bathroom was complete my wife stood in the doorway and just smiled for ~5min. The tile grout-lines are tight and consistent. The shower and vanity are plumb and square. There was a minor error made by the plumber that required cutting a hole in the other side of the wall, but Alex covered the cost to patch, texture, and paint the repair. Alex and his crew were always on time and nearly almost always told us when work was going to be done. The one exception was when I came home and the floors had been insulated ahead of schedule. Alex and his subs did an excellent job keeping dust to a minimum thereby keeping the rest of the house livable.
Description of Work: Alex and his crew did a great job! We had a collection of dissimilar projects that we wanted one contractor to handle. A few contractors balked at the job list, but Alex made it happen. We has Alex quote a few projects, but chose to not do a few of them: Master Bath Renovation (completed) Crawl Space Insulation (completed) Crawl Space Trenching & Sump Pump Installation (completed) Ducting Insulation (completed) Front Door Replacement (completed) Electrical Upgrades (completed) Fireplace Renovation (quote only) Master Closet Renovation (quote only) The big projects were the master bathroom and the under-the-house stuff. They completely demolished the master bathroom to the studs (even removing some studs) and rebuilding. This included a tile floor, custom tile shower, inset medicine cabinet, and vanity installation. Under the house, his subs did an excellent and quick job removing our old vapor barrier (it was very poorly installed), digging trenches, making french drains, and installing a sump pump. Then another crew insulated our floors and ducting. Additionally, Alex did all the paper work to get us our Energy Trust of Oregon rebates.

We are very happy we went with Alex Freddi Construction! Alex and crew were able to completely tear down and rebuild our "fixer." Alex managed the project through tear down, framing, plumbing, electrical, insulation, drywall and finish. We now have a beautifully renovated home, and didn't break the bank. They are timely and worked with us to get the most for our money. Alex and his team communicate well, are extremely responsive and polite, clean, and most importantly, they gave us confidence to take on this big project with great success. We can't thank Alex Freddi Construction enough!

Both work and crews were amazing! All questions and minor changes (on my part) were handled with calm reassurance and efficient execution. Crews were on time, left site cleaned up each night, respectful. Would use again and again, absolutely!
Description of Work: Freddi's group remodeled and updated 3 bathrooms and front entrance - all tiles, new toilets, repositioned mirrors, new tiled floors, pulled and replaced bath and shower, tiled walls, inset soap and shampoo shelves.
