Description of Work: Repaired three appliances. Replaced the coupling in a KitchenAid Washer; replaced a belt and roller in a Maytag dryer, and diagnosed the source of a leak and replaced the drain hose in an Amana Dishwasher made by Fisher and Paykel.

The staff at the office was great in asking the questions and getting information of the machine, so he could antitipate the repair and bring parts for the Maytag. The price was as expected for this kind of repair. I was very pleased with the outcome and greatful not to have to spend $900 on a new machine.

+ -1 moreMike, the repairman, was 5 minutes early! He was friendly but professional and answered all of my questions. He seemed honest, experienced, and knowledgeable. He was clean and well-groomed, and upon completion of the job, was conscientious about not getting his dirty fingerprints on anything. I would recommend A&P to anyone looking for a reliable appliance repair service. The cost of repair seemed reasonable, though I have nothing with which to compare it. I was happy NOT to have to buy a new washing machine!
Description of Work: They replaced my washing machine's belt and did appropriate lubrication on 06/21/06.

+ -1 moreIf you don't care how much you pay for a repair, then this company is great. The service man showed up promptly, quickly diagnosed the problem, and replaced the plastic blower fan, all within 1/2 hour. Well and fine, unless you think that a highly marked-up piece of plastic priced at $44 and an easy replacement job charged at $99 labor is fair. I disagree, and based on that would shop around next time.
Description of Work: Replaced blower fan wheel on a Maytag dryer based on our complaint of unusual noise.

+ -1 more"Mike" was on time, friendly, professional, honest and great to work with. I thought the week long wait for an appointment was too long, but was willing to wait for a good company (and it was worth it, as they came out two days later). "Mike" was able to explain the problem in great detail, as well as fix our dishwasher. He explained the problems we might encounter with our other appliances (oven, clothes washer). The $89.50 was only the diagnostic fee, but was worth having an honest opinion about what to do with the refrigerator. Unfortunately, we now need a new refrigerator.
Description of Work: Our 7-year-old Amana bottom-freezer refrigerator wasn't getting cold enough in the freezer, and had stopped making ice. When I called, they said the fridge repair person wasn't available for a week, but gave me another company's name and number. I made an appointment with A&P anyway, as it wasn't an emergency. A&P called two days later when a time opened up. "Mike" came and diagnosed a leak from the tubes in 10 minutes, and recommended NOT repairing, as it would cost too much, and might not fix the problem all the way. He also disassembled our dishwasher wash-arm assembly and removed some plastic parts that were making noises.

They were on time, friendly, and personable. The amount we paid was for 1 hr of work and no parts were needed. We appreciated the fast and courteous service and will use them again.
Description of Work: My washing machine all of a sudden stopped working. We have a 5 person family and a lot of laundry so I needed a repair person ASAP (before the weekend) to troubleshoot and fix the problem.

+ -1 moreHe was on time, very professional, and he explained that the seal on the dishwasher door was damaged and so the dishwasher was leaking (kind of makes you feel stupid you didn't even look close enough to fix it yourself). He had the parts with him, fixed the problem, and stayed long enough to make sure the dishwasher was working properly. It was a little bit on the higher side on price but a safe bet. I would call them again if needed.

+ -1 moreThe appointment was easily set-up,very timely within our schedule. The appointment had to be rescheduled because of an ill repairman, and this also was done with our satisfaction in mind! ALL persons, 1 scheduling person, and 2 separate repair people were very professional and easy to work with! I regret I do not remember their names exactly. The repair person assessing our problem on first visit worked with me to determine if the part was still warranted after 3 years. It was, and we saved money! This was totally unexpected!

We were asked for the model numbers of both appliances so that parts would be on hand if needed. The repairman arrived on time, immediately diagnosed the problems with both our appliances, and quickly made the necessary repairs to our refrigerator. He was extremely cordial, professional and helpful. We considered the price very reasonable.
Description of Work: 1)Assessed condition of our never satisfactory 14 year-old Admiral washer (it was now making very unhealthy sounds during agitation). We learned from the serviceman that this particular model has been problematic (how did we luck out?) and ours would soon expire (he was surprised that there were still any of this model around) - an inevitable, though not messy, demise. We asked for his recommendations on a new purchase and he was very helpful. 2) diagnosed problem with refrigerator compressor and replaced it.

+ -1 moreAfter three visits (two by the first repairman) and one by a senior repairman, they fixed the washing machine perfectly. It is a good thing I am not working so it was convenient for them to make that many trips. Both repairman were very personable.
Description of Work: They had to fix a hinge on the dishwasher door as well as figure out why the washing machine was moving across the laundry room floor, as well as sounding like a truck was hitting the house.

IT TURNED OUT THE REFRIGERATOR WAS WITHIN EXPECTED LIMITS, AND NO ACTUAL WORK WAS DONE, BUT THE EXPERIENCE WAS ENTIRELY POSITIVE.
