 + 0 moreRobert and his crew were amazing. He did everything we agreed to on time and on budget. He was also a tremendous resource for other local services and provided recommendations on suppliers. Making the decision to buy land and build a home was very stressful considering I had never done it before. Learning the building process was overwhelming; however, Robert and his crew were a great resource and provided guidance and suggestions for preparing our land and moving through the construction process. Robert worked closely with us as we decided on everything from the location of the house to where a future shop would be built so he could trench well connections and our septic system accordingly. He has a great work ethic and helped us every step of the way. I highly recommend Robert and his team!

 + 0 moreMr. Martens told me he could do this end of June but that did not happen. I had to call him every month and he would tell me he was overloaded, then his truck was being fixed. I would have called someone else but he was considered the best around. I also knew that since the septic tank area was cramped it would be more difficult for him so I was patient. On my last call to him in August he said he would be there in a week which was the first week in sept. He was there on time with his crew. He was very pleasant and professional. I would still highly recommend him even though he put me off for 3 months.
Description of Work: I contacted Mr. Martens after finding out my septic tank could no longer be pumped around may 30, 2012. He came out to see the site and explained what he needed to do, that it would take 6 hrs,he asked if we wanted to black top it again or use gravel. He provided me with a quote $3500-4000. This was replacing a 1000 gal. steel septic tank that looked like swiss cheese. The area where my septic tank was located was between my deck and trees so it was a little cramped. He got all the permits. First they had to cut the black top to uncover the rest of the tank then they had to hand dig down to septic tank so Ed's septic service could pump it first. After that they carefully dug it out by hand to uncover both ends that needed to be disconnected. After that they could use the tractor with the machine shovel to pull it out. Since the new concrete septic is bigger they needed to dig the area bigger. There was a French drain that needed to be cut so the tank could go in. Once the space was correct and deep enough, Mr Marten checked this often with his gauge, they carefully swung, with a lift, off the back of a truck the tank into the hole. Mr. Marten made sure all was correct, reattached connections, repaired the French drain, and covered the area with all the soil/ sand that had been removed. After all this they came back with a load of gravel to cover the dirt and secure the lid. This all took 6 hours.
