Description of Work: The house we bought was a 3 story A-Frame on the coast the was needing remodeling, had carpet thru out house except for the kitchen area and guest bathroom. We removed the carpet and had James (owner of J&J flooring) give us an estimate for hardwood flooring only with no baseboards.. He helped guide us thru wood choices that would be best suited for our area since we live next to the river. We decided to do red oak upstairs approx 700sqft. The existing wood flooring downstairs was white oak that needed to be refinished, so James also estimated for refininishing and laying white oak for main floor approx. 985 sqft. James explained approx how long it would take to finish. The stacked wood needed to be placed in the house to acclimate with our temp/humidity for at least 2-3 weeks before being laid. James and his helper preped the subfloor removing sheetrock mud, texture, etc. and sanding to level floor. The top floor was done in 3days including sealing the wood. James blended the floor with the existing wood railing and trim making it look flawless. The main existing floor was sanded and he blended the existing flooring with the new white oak ( living room& 2 bedrooms) then he sealed the floor making it look like all had been laid at the same time approx 4 days. He explained what he recommended for maintance on the floors. We were extremely happy with J&J flooring, they cleaned up all the areas after working each day, very polite. James even helped order the baseboards in white oak for our general contractor. |

+ -1 moreShowed up the same day I called, too measurements and was in contact the next day with bid and timeline. Explained about special ordering product, etc, and how woods need to rest in the house for a week plus to acclimate to the house. Came on the day sceduled, worked for 2 days, came back after the wk end to finish up.
Description of Work: We had our floors redone; these guys removed the old carpet and disposed of it, did not leave a mess, came when they said they would, stuck to their bid, made reasonable suggestions and had it done on time. They even let our dogs watch them while they worked. Very professional, very nice work. After removing the carpet, they installed two different types of floors, one to match an existing wood, and the other a similar product but a complete hardwood. They also did the stair case including risers, and the result is gorgeous.
