Been in business since 2005 as Richard W.C. Balkins, Building Designer. In 2017, business name changed to Astoria Building Design. In 2018, Astoria Building Design name has changed to Astoria Building Design, LLC. BUILDING DESIGN SERVICES ( United States ) We offer residential and light commercial building design services in the United States, mainly in the states of Oregon & Washington. We offer other services as well. Services includes historic preservation, renovation, restoration, additions, sustainable design practices, landscape and interior design services, and other associated services. At this time, we do not do construction services. NOTE: All meetings during the COVID-19 pandemic are currently planned to be conducted over Zoom, Skype or other video or voice conferencing programs and email. In person meetings are not being done at this time. Contracts are still required to be written and signed. There maybe delays in handling & processing stuff mailed. ** During the COVID-19 situation, the following services are not actively offered or performed ** INTERNATIONAL ARCHITECTURAL SERVICES ( Outside the U.S.) For projects and stock building plans (including customization services) located in the countries of Finland, Sweden, Norway, and Demark -- we offer full architectural services. In those noted countries, there is no architectural licensing requirements to practice architecture or use of the title "Architect". INTERNATIONAL BUILDING DESIGN SERVICES In the UK & several provinces & territories, we offer comprehensive Building Design services that may exceed the scale or types of projects that maybe offered in the United States without a registered or licensed architect. NOTES REGARDING ARCHITECTURAL SERVICES IN THE UNITED STATES: In the United States, we may collaborate with Licensed/Registered Architects to provide and perform Architectural services within the legally accepted arrangements permitted under the governing laws/rules.
