Description of Work: My husband and I commissioned William Olsen Designs to build us original, one of a kind fine furniture for our home.

Description of Work: We would like to acknowledge the outstanding job the owner of William Olsen Designs did designing, constructing, and installing kitchen cabinetry in our new vacation home. We are extremely pleased and delighted with the high quality product and outcome achieved, which exceeded our expectations. We continue to be amazed that Mr. Olsen was so successful in designing and constructing the cabinetry based on discussions of our wishes and sketches and measurements made by our contractor/builder, without having been in the house until he installed the cabinetry. His business is located in the Rogue Valley in Ashland, OR and our new house was being built about 175 miles away on the central Oregon coast. Everything fit perfectly and is in harmony with the rest of the house. This is a high tribute that likely reflects the excellent training Mr. Olsen received at the Australian School of Fine Furniture, coupled with his extensive experience and craftsmanship in fine woodworking. In addition, Mr. Olsen’s attention to detail and scheduling, as well as his organizational and practical skills, resulted in the project being completed on time and on budget.

Description of Work: We completely remodeled our kitchen and master bath. The kitchen was opened up for direct views into the dining and living rooms, which made it very important to have cabinetry that complemented the existing woodwork in those rooms. William made and installed European-style custom cherry base and wall cabinets, and a large pantry cabinet. All cabinetry was made from 3/4" solid cherry and the cabinet boxes and were made from 3/4" maple plywood with soft close hinges. Drawers were made of qaulity 1/2" Baltic birch/maple plywood with tongue and groove joinery and full-extension, soft close runners. To complete the kitchen and transition into the other rooms, William made a beautiful L-shaped 2" thick solid cherry/walnut upper counter top that measures 5' x 11' and the base is completely wrapped in cherry including the baseboard. The master bath has similarly designed solid cherry cabinets and includes an 80"w x 30"h custom medicine cabinet with mirrored doors that are frameless between the mirror panes.
