Joe S came and provided an estimate in a very timely fashion. Joe followed up in a professional manner each time we communicated. The Team, led by by Don, arrived each day as scheduled and left the worksite clean and organized each day. They all worked full days. Don did an excellent job by giving regular updates and making recommendations on how to fix different areas where previous work was done poorly. Don recommended clear coat in certain areas and did incredible work on our blistering front doors. They provided many extra services and barely charged us anything. I would recommend Summit, especially Don, anytime!!

FOREST HEIGHTS NEIGHBORS DO NOT USE SUMMIT PAINTING! My consumer experience was a complete disaster, from scheduling mistakes / errors and lack of follow through to poor quality work. The work actually resulted in damange to the interior of my home and left me with a gutter that clogged for the first time in 9 years (when my home was built) upon the first rain following their gutter cleaning service (about 4 days prior). HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE - I strongly recommend that you don't EVER consider their services. I was having the exterior or my house replaced (siding, etc.) and painted so decided I should have the roof and gutters cleaned before I had a new exterior and paint job to avoid dirty water run-off etc. from staining my new paint. I described that I had a very important timeline and needed the work done in the next two weeks prior to my construction project starting, to which they absolutely confimed they would do. Then after not getting the proper coordination or communication, I had to leave follow up calls reminding them I needed the work to be done prior to my construction problem. After having to do the reminding for them, they coordinated a day to perform the work just prior to my construction project....wheewww! Coming home after the day of their committed work, my roof had all the moss on it and nothing was completed. I then had to call again and ask why it wasn't done and remind them of my very important timeline, their committment and scheduled time and the fact that absoultely nothing had been completed. They told me (after having multiple people call me) that my roof didn't have anchors or something for their ropes, etc. (a very nice and normal house in Forest Heights built in 2003)? I told them that my construction project started the next day and all of this didn't meet my need as now it would be performed after siding was removed from my house. During the roof cleaning I noticed water all over the hardwoods in my house (with the moss treatment solution) and horrific water damage to the hard woods. I told the crew of this issue and they seemed demur and indicated there was quite a bit of moss around a skylight so they spent a lot of time with heavy water pressure spraying this area? Really, could they not have been a bit more cautious or used some hand removal vs. heavy water pressure on a seem or seal which goes straight into the house. So now my home has interior damage. It rains a lot in Portland and we have never even seen a drip from this skylight. No offer to correct it or provide a credit or anything - just gave me the bill. Roof cleaning quality - poor. They indicated they would clean the entire roof removing the moss. The most important area aesthetically for me was the back side where some large windows look out and you can see part of the roof. Since they stated they would clean the entire roof, I didn't discuss the importance of this area on the back....I didn't need to, they would clean it all. They cleaned the front of the home reasonably well (where they thought their work was visible) but didn't remove the moss on the back, not knowing I had visibility from signature windows out of my house. So, the most important area for moss removal wasn't even accomplished. Gutter cleaning - my house doesn't have any trees near gutters and the gutters had minimal debris. However, the house is 9 years old and the gutters had never been cleaned so clearly a good maintenance step. A few days after they departed upon the first rain, the gutters were clogged and overflowing - the first time this had happened in the 9 year existence of my home. Good work - the minute they clean them, they clog and overflow. The problem was in the exact location where the main pressure washing of the roof occurred and where they sprayed all of the moss chunks off the roof, into the gutter and probably clogged the downspout. Again, left in worse shape after service provided than with no service at all. Follow up - after calling and letting Summit know of our clogged gutter due to their service, they were not responsive and tried to explain it must have occured after their service from other causes. Hmmmm....never clogged in 9 years then clogs upon the first rain after their service in the exact location they blew tons of debris off the roof.....sound reasonable? Needless to say, I didn't accept this and had to make multiple calls to them explaining how disappointed I was with their service from start to finish. I finally got them to accept responsibility and they indicated they would fix it. I didn't need a date, didn't need to schedule anything but just wanted my clogged gutter fixed. Then I would get calls from others indicating how they wanted to fix it and they were sorry and that they would have others call me. I indicated I don't want any more calls and don't want to discuss it with others just want it fixed. My wife even marked the clogged gutter with blue tape to help them get right to the problem. Of course, a fix wasn't imminent but another call came - again, indicaitng they were sorry and would fix it. This is about a month after my initial call asking for it to be un-clogged. They claim it will be done soon but the fix is still unconfirmed as I write this review. To top of this horrendous experience, I got an advertisement in the mail bragging that Summit Painting won the 2011 Angie's List Super Award or some other title during the time I was trying to get them to come back and un-clog my gutter. After the experience I had, I think you can imagine this was the final straw: - Missed the timeline needed, which was made very apparent and stressed in the bid process;- Destroyed my hardwoods in the house;- Didn't clean my roof well and my key view windwo still looks out over moss chunks- Clogged my gutters and were very hesitant to unclog them;- DIdn't clean up their mess well;- Stil billed me in full and cashed the check.- As of now, a gutter is clogged and water just pours down against my foundation and an electricity outlet being used my a water feature pump so every time it rains my breaker kicks off from the outlet getting wet As such, I called Angie's List immediately, paid for a full year's membership solely to write this single review and rate the performance of Summit Painting to save my community and neighbors from making a big mistake (please, no dantions needed). JUST DO NOT USE SUMMIT PAINTING.......EVER!!!t

Extremely good interaction from start to finish. Joe provided a detailed estimate up front, and we agreed on services, price, and schedule. The weather cooperated, and the job was finished quickly with superb quality at the price we agreed. My house went from the worst house on the block to the best -- and now several of my neighbors are repainting (using Summit too). I would recommend Summit painting without hesitation. The experience of working with them was great from start to finish!

Joe Schacher, our salesperson, was very professional and followed through on everything. While giving me the estimate, he clearly explained everything that they were going to do and what products they would be using. During the project, he often came by to check on progress and to see if I had any questions. Given the Portland weather, the project was completed in a timely manner and met my overall completion goal. I used my designer to pick the exterior paint colors, but they also provide that service. Due to the size of the project, he recommended a very high quality paint and with Summit Painting standing behind their work, I feel confident that my home will look beautiful for years to come.

Our home was in bad shape with tons of dry rot that had to be repaired and horribly faded uneven paint. Summit had given us a quote two years ago but we were unable to have the service then so we called them again because we remembered them as being very well priced as well as courteous and professional. They promptly came out and gave us a quote and were able to begin work fairly quickly considering they were very busy. The home was very carefully handled at each stage and they were very Professional when we did interact. I felt like our home was painted in a very reasonable amount of time but i could also tell that they took their time to do everything right. And when they were all done, they cleaned up and it was like no one had ever been there. Perfect service and amazing quality. Already several friends have noticed and said how great our home looks. I will definitely use summit painting again!

Summit representatives arrived at our home first thing every morning and worked full days. They were polite and professional. They confirmed the paint colors with samples applied to the siding prior to starting finish application. They completed the project on time. (we had a target date established because of a large party to be held at our home). They asked us to check their work and wanted to confirm our complete satisfaction prior to final payment. Their attention to detail was far above average.

Pressure wash and seal the driveway and front/back patios: - this was never done on my 8 yr old house, and the results were amazing. Danny recommended a sealant to extend the life of the concrete, so I had that done as well. The concrete looks practically new, and you can't even tell a seal is on it, until it rains and the water just beads and rolls off the driveway. De-moss / pressure wash the roof: - there was some moss on the roof, this was all taken care of. Clean / repaint the trim and molding on the front side of the house, which gets the brunt of all the harsh weather conditions: - the paint was peeling/faded on all windows and the pillars near the front door. all this was pressure washed and cleaned, and repainted. They did a very clean and thorough job of this. Overall, a quality job, and professional staff; I would definitely recommend for future projects.

Since it was part of bigger renovations it was an intricate project ,it is difficult to seperate the painting from the rest.

I live in a three story, 5200 square foot home that needed much work on the exterior. Summit painting had the job of cleaning up a bad paint experience from a painter of 4 years ago. Summit spent a full week scraping off the bad paint and treating the siding on my house. The new paint turned out better than I expected. The crew was respectful of work hours and the fact that my family was running around in pajamas while they were painting at our windows. I cannot say enough about how satisfied I am with the work Don and his crew at Summit painting did for our house.

Summit painting had a lot of contracts for painting in our neighborhood, a few good friends of ours and next door neighbor got their house painted by summit painting. It was evident that things were in good hands as I did not hear about any complaints from my friends and neighbor. I approached the painting crew and Danny set up an appointment for an estimate. They were very professional and provided deep discounts for grouping multiple work items. Their schedule was flexible and were ready to work on our timeline which is a very big plus. We wanted some things to be done fast paced whereas other items we wanted them to be spaced out and Summit accomodated all our requests. One of the days the painters showed up for painting but we told them that the weather conditions did not seem appropriate for painting that day, they agreed and came back on another day when weather conditions had improved. The quality of work is great, we did a walk through and did not find any issues with the quality of work. Everything was cleaned up and mess hauled away. We forgot to remove some of the fixtures but the painters removed them and re-installed them after completing the work. The front door took them a little longer to get done as the door was giving a problem with its original sealant. Summit folks work on it diligently until the door finish was of a top quality - it looks like a new door now. We are very pleased with the quality of work, the willingness to accomodate client requests and affordable prices. I would consider Summit again for their services when need arises.

We had a very good experience with Summit Painting. Danny came out to do our initial estimate and consultation; he took his time walking around the property and evaluating our situation, and spent time to walk through the entire process with us. The actual painting team came out a few weeks later, once weather permitted; they were very efficient, and courteous with my wife and kids. They did a high quality job, with minimal disruption to the plants and surrounding yard. They cleaned up the site when done. Overall, we are quite happy with the result, and would recommend them to anyone looking to paint their house.

They worked to fit us in right away and also helped us with our color choice. They used the top quality Miller Paint. The crew was professional from start to finish. They answered any questions we had and quickly responded to any requests that arose during the job. The Job site was left clean and we were very pleased with the end result. What a difference it made to home. We are the talk of the neighborhood.

These guys are very good at what they do. In three days they prepped and painted our 50's ranch home. They did a great job and I am a VERY picky person. They were prompt, professional and clean. This is how it should be and we are very happy clients.

They did an excellent job. I would highly recommend Summit Painting to my friends and family. In Portland we get a lot of rain and this year was one of the worst. As soon as we got a break in the weather, Summit was at my house and got it done in just a few days. All the employees were very kind and courteous. For the first 2 days they pressure washed, extensively caulked and prepped the house. After that I was surprised that it only took 3 days to completely paint my house and gutters. I'm a perfectionist myself and I couldn't have done it better myself. Great job gentlemen.

We got painting done from summit painting in May 2011. I must say I was really impressed by the customer service they have provided. Our HOA took forever to approve our application and even though it was their busiest time for them they stood by us and got painting started very next day. Their painters were extremely nice and they were very hard working. All together we had a great experience with summit painting and would highly recommend them to anyone.

He was on time. The owner came out to do the quote. They weren't the most expensive, they were in the middle. I real reason we did not go with them was how the material was presented to us. He was a very loud talker and rather pushy in his presentation.

Great communication and quality work from the team at Summit. Came out gave me the quote and explained their process. Once the weather cooperated they were out working. Spent a few days on prep work, pressure washing the house, deck, gutters, roof and concrete surfaces. Primed and caulked the areas that needed it. Then spent a couple days to painting the house. Crew was very polite. House looks better now then when I bought it new. Quality work all around. Highly recommend.

Overall, we had a good experience with Summit Painting. They were professional and responsive to our needs. We did have to ask them to repaint the front door, and they did so without complaint.

It went very well. They had great attention to detail, and were very eager to make sure that I was happy with the work.

The price was good, as well as the quality of materials and quality of workmanship. Our house had a few unusual issues, and Summit was more than willing to help. I really appreciated that. They were readily available to answer any questions. I was more than satisfied with their service, and I would definitely hire Summit Painting again in the future.

I like Summit Painting because they are willing to do both small and large jobs.

The initial subcontractor hired to replace portions of our siding did a poor job. Therefore, another subcontractor had to be hired out to fix the mistakes. This ended up costing us more money. Overall, Summit Painting did do a good job. Their crew was absolutely awesome! However, salesman said he would be there during the process and he wasn?t. This meant that we had to work with the foreman directly, which we weren?t expecting.

They did a really good job on the exterior painting. They took care of making sure that they scraped everything properly. They did not leave any unfinished job. They finished everything properly, but they are a little bit expensive. The workers were very friendly and very courteous. I would call them back. They did a really good job in painting. They were professional.
