Summit Painting

Ours is a very large, steep roof and we also have a guest / pool house. They did it all, using a pre cleaning solution and careful power washing. This resulted in exceptional cleaning of the roof tiles which now appear as when they were new 12 years ago. They also applied moss preventative at no extra charge. They were punctual and did an excellent job of cleaning up after themselves. The cost was much lower than our previous service.

I did not have to put the lights on so they did a good job. I would see if I can call them next year but if I cannot call them then I may have to do it myself. They kind of whined a little bit but they were professional. I would use them again in the future but they have to come down with their price.

It took us several tries to set up the date for the inspection. When they did come, they were an hour late, but called to let us know. We had not read the fine print of the deal closely enough so the amount of the additional cost was a surprise.

Estimator very pleasant. This service was going to cost more than we anticipated so we decided not to do it.

The house was painted for the tenants renting out my home. They were very satisfied with the price and the end result.

There was no problem with the vendor. In the estimate process, it was determined that there would be an additional $200 due to size and pitch of roof. The possibility of additional costs was disclosed in fine print but this was more than I wanted to pay for the project. No work was done on the project.

The big deal was purchased on 9/30 and within a couple of days were contacted by the service provider. The service provider came to the house to evaluate the job. The service provider contacted us for additional details and he indicated that to perform the service it would cost an additional $325 (almost double what the big deal cost). We don't mind paying a little extra for services unique to our situation, we have done this in the past on big deals. However, we are unable to pay this much extra to have the service performed on our roof.

I was looking to get my home painted, so I did some comparrison estimates, a friend of mine had Danny and his team paint his home and reccommended Summit painting to me. So, I had Danny come over and give me an estimate...Danny and Summit painting was by far the most competative in cost. So, I hired Danny and Summit Painting to paint my home. They put up paint swatches on my walls to make sure the shades were right. However the paint supplier mixed the wrong colors after my swatch approval, so my home was halfway painted in the wrong color. I called Danny, he looked into what happened and discovered the paint codes from my swatch to actual paint was mixed up. He quickly replaced all the paint with the correct color and the job was completed on time. They even came back to do some touch ups on a few area to make sure everything was to my liking and satisfaction. Danny and Summit Painting did an outstanding job and I have reccomened them to many people I know looking for a quality painting company!

everything went well. they showed up on time, things were left clean each day,the helpers were very friendly and knew what they were doing, there was a problem on one side of the house that was,nt their fault but they offered to make good on it immediatly. we will ask them to bid the inside this fall.

I got a discount from them to do the job. It’s just like over a month to get an appointment with them because they had so many coupon and I have to call them a lot. They were on time and they stayed extra time. They did a great job.

Danny Bailo, the owner of summit painting came to my residence, and took a look at want I wanted done, he said that he would have his guys call me for an appointment. they were prompt on getting back in touch with me, they were patient with me as i was deciding on a new color for my living room.The next day they had arrived promptley as discussed, they were very carefull to tape, and / or cover any remaining furniture that was left. It took them about a half a day to finish the job, which was in my opinion pretty quick,lol. They were covering old paint that was a dark purple, and turned into a beautiful beige tone. I am very pleased with their work, and they cleaned up all their mess afterwards. I would recommend Summit painting for hire again in the furture. Thanks Danny!!! Stacie Logreco

Original post: How did it go? Terrible. Never on time. Started weeks after they said they would. Didn't work a full day. Workmanship was terrible. They obviously don't know how to fix dry rot and therefore should not have said they could do the job. We had to get someone else to redo what they had started and fix the dry rot properly. Update 4/30/13: I wanted to respond to Mr Schacher?s response to my review because he is blatantly lying when he said ?? you did not deal with Summit Painting. Andy Mahaffy is the person you dealt with. Andy misrepresented himself as Summit Painting.? Danny Bailo, the owner of Summit Painting, admits that he cashed a check I wrote as a downpayment for a project; the check I gave to Andy MaHaffy in person. Some background: I found Summit Painting through my Angie?s List membership. I saw how highly it was recommended and therefore went to the www.summitpdx.com website to find a contact number to get a quote to paint the outside of 10 townhouses. I called the number from the website and Andy showed up as the Sales Representative ? he?s even pictured in the ?2011 Team? photo on the Summit Painting website (which I have copied to Angie?s List). Andy gave me a formal quote on Summit Painting letterhead and I gave him a check as a downpayment made out to Summit Painting. As I say, Danny Bailo, the owner of Summit Painting, admits that he cashed the check I wrote. If Andy misrepresented himself as Summit Painting, then how can Summit Painting cash my check?! I signed a contract with Summit Painting to do a painting job, but there was some dry rot that needed to be dealt with first, which Andy (representing Summit in my opinion) said they could fix. They started work weeks after they said they would and never put in a full day?s work. The craftsmanship was appalling. I tried several times to get Andy to correct the woodwork but he just kept making it worse. I then called Danny Bailo who said I needed to discuss the issues with Andy. I then consulted a lawyer to get out of the contract. Danny Bailo, the owner of Summit Painting, called me a couple of times regarding the project they had on their books to paint our townhouses; he wanted to know what the progress was on the dry rot. I referred him to my lawyer. If Andy didn?t work for Summit Painting, how did Danny have my project on his books?! If Danny Bailo, the owner, was interested in restoring his reputation, he wouldn?t have his General Manager publicly deny knowledge of an employee; he should accept responsibility for his mistake in hiring such a person and compensate me for all the money I have lost. Two units paid Andy for work that was not completed (money paid thinking we were dealing with Summit Painting), I paid a lawyer (and we all know how expensive they are), and as I said I paid Summit Painting a downpayment. I believe Summit Painting?s actions regarding an ex-employee and the suffering of its customers is inexcusable and I wanted to let people know that instead of rectifying the situation, he is disowning the problem.

Estimator came out to the house to make a bid. He walked around the house and made some comments about what his company could do. He then took a call on his cell phone and after several minutes said he would e-mail me a proposal. Never heard from him again! I guess because all we need was the trim painted and deck restained, he felt it wasn't worth Summit's time. Very unprofessional and I would not call this contractor again in the future.

Everything was cool. They even gave me the leftover paint to keep. They came to check it out a few times after completion.

Joe with Summit arranged to meet me at the house to give an estimate. He was prompt, professional and obviously knowledgeable. He recommended that I use Dick's Paint in Beaverton and we scheduled the appointment for the following Saturday. I met with the fine folks at Dick's who helped me pick the perfect colors and then put the color information on file for Summit. As an added bonus, their designer helped me narrow down my paint choice and the end result was beautiful and somewhat unexpected, something I would never have been able to accomplish without assistance. Mauricio and his assistant from Summit arrived exactly on time for the appointment and worked quickly and efficiently, finishing the job in about 5 hours. They were pleasant and polite, and best of all, did an amazing job. I would highly recommend Summit for all your painting needs, and based on their level of professionalism, I would absolutely be willing to use them for any other service they offer.

Quick response on quote request. Took awhile to begin project and had trouble getting ahold of someone for scheduling initially. Paint crew was on time and very polite and professional. Cleaned up after themselves. Decent price. Gutters had streaks after initial painting. (It rained). Very responsive to feedback. Came right back out and touched it up. Painting looks great now!!! Followed up 2 more times to make sure we were satisfied. By email and in person. Will use again!!!

Summit Painting did a very nice job on our house. The house is over 100 years old. Summit was able to handle the size of the job and several unique aspects of the construction. The crew was very cooperative and friendly. The supervisor on the job, Joe Schacher, was very repsonsive to our needs. Overall, we are very pleased with the level of service and the finished product.

We were impressed with Summit Painting's professionalism and attention to detail throughout the entire project. One reason we chose them over other painting services was because of their excellent comments on Angie's List, and are happy to say that they exceeded our expectations. We felt confident right from the start with the experience, professionalism, and advice from their Sales Coordinator, Joe, who walked us through the process from beginning to end. He explained thoroughly how and when they would complete the project, and what we could expect. He was willing to meet us on our schedule, and made the process easy and stress free. He even advised us on paint colors and placement and left samples with us. We were also impressed that he made the time to return and paint large samples of paint on the house after we'd made our selection to ensure we were happy with the color choices on a large scale. The crew that did the painting was extremely efficient, talented, and reliable. They made every effort to complete the process in a timely manner, despite weather delays. They were outstanding in communication with us to ensure we were happy with the outcome. We found they had a high attention to detail, and their many years of experience in painting was evident throughout the process. The company has set high expectations for itself, which was reflected in the work they performed. We consider it money well spent, and will certainly recommend Summit Painting to our family and friends.

We had a great experience with Summit. They were very knowledgable about how to safely deal with the lead paint on our 1926 home. This was a particular concer for us since we have a small child. They were always professional, responsive and came back out right away to touch-up an area when I requested it. They did a great job!

Summit Painting completed the work ahead of schedule, priced as quoted and without any surprises. The workers cleaned after themselves and around the house every day and at the end of the job. Summit was very receptive to any suggestions or to any changes to color selection. Workers were very cordial and punctual. Supervisors were always available before, during and after the painting job.

Summit painting did an excellent job on my son's house. Joe was very helpful through the whole process and prompt with getting answers my son needed. There was some confusion on the gutter paint as Summit received the wrong color. They had already painted the gutters when my son noticed it was not the correct color. Summit completely redid the gutters with no hassle, true professionals. The house turned out beautifully and i would recommend Summit painting to my friends and family.

Summit Painting took my deposit and did not do any work on my job. On multiple occasions, I demaded a return of my deposit and nothing happened until the police became involved. Then I received a deposit refund check but I was still out a substantial cost. More detail: I had a simple structure that needed an easy exterior paint job. I told Summit that the job had to be done by a certain date so that two things could happen: 1) the painting job would be easy because the new construction would not have been installed, therefore the new construction would not need masking, and 2) the painting would have to be done before the new construction could proceed. As the due date approached, multiple calls from me to Summit produced nothing from Summit. Eventually, the painting was preventing the construction from happening and I had to proceed without painting. Summit did not return phone calls or my deposit, even after I had demanded it. I was forced to have the construction done because the project could not wait. Now, I have to spend more money on painting because the new construction needs masking which involves a lot of fine detail work. Eventually, Summit produced a check for my deposit (not including consequential losses) after the police became involved.

Don Washburn was our journeyman during the entire project. He did an excellent job! His painting expertise was VERY valuable and helped guide us in making good choices both in products used and in the sequence of the jobs done on our home. He did everything with a smile and put our needs first. Our house looks beautiful! Thanks Summit!
