On the phone, Mike suggested we have the vermiculite tested to see if it really needed to be removed. He came out and collected a sample and had it tested ($50). It contains less than the measurable amount, so doesn't need removal. Mike was prompt, friendly, and informative. He could have charged us a few $1000 to remove the vermiculite, but he wanted to make sure the project really needed to be done.

They were on time and completed the job according to schedule. The cleanup was very good. Now I can begin the remodeling knowing that I don't have to worry about asbestos. I would definitely hire Wally and crew again. As we got into the work, we discovered some additional work to do. They were able to get it tested quickly and gave a reasonable price for this extra work.

Very well. The complete procedure was explained clearly prior to the contract being signed. On the day of the work, the crew showed up on time, worked quickly and efficiently, and were done within about an hour of the time they said (although it took a bit longer than they expected). The project included all the permits, work logs and air monitoring required by Oregon DEQ. A summary booklet of the work was submitted to me after completion, as a legal record of all that was done and all the asbestos in the ceiling had been completely abated.
