I had lost power to a 1/4 of my house the other day and came to Angie's List and found a coupon for R.W.E. I had called them and scheduled an appointment. The service tech was on time and went strait to work. I told him what happened and he checked an outlet and found a couple switches that was broken and changed those out and I was back in business!!!

The team arrived promptly, put on foot booties and proceeded to price out what I asked for. I requested a fan installed in a cathedral ceiling without an existing fixture. Also had two other fans installed in place of existing fixtures. I also needed 5 electrical outlets added in the garage. They began with the fans and found they could not finish the job in one day. They requested a new date the following week to get the rest of the work done. They arrived promptly for the second appointment and completed the job. In both instances they cleaned up any debris and took away the boxes for the fans. They were both very professional and I would recommend them to everyone!

When I called they walked me through possible ways to fix the problem over the phone. He spent 15-20 minutes with me, but we were not able to fix the problem over the phone. They sent someone out and he fixed the problem in 5 minutes and did not even charge me. They were outstanding and I would highly recommend.

I used Rite Way because my usual electrical company was swamped and unable to do the work to my schedule. I was on a tight deadline for a renovation and needed the work done quickly, so had Rite Way do the work, based off the good reviews they had on Angie's List. The electrician showed up as promised, looked at the work and then quoted a price. It seemed the higher end of reasonable so I agreed and he then went back into Corvallis to get the parts to do the job. When he returned a short time later, he cut the holes in the wall where I had requested and then looked at my cables. He took some convincing to pull them as he did not seem to recognize their rating for in-wall use and made calls to the manufacturer/vendor I got them from to ascertain they were to code. Once he agreed with me, he took them down into the crawl space and pulled them between to spot where the TV was going to be installed and the spot where an entertainment center would be installed later. He had some difficulties but ultimately completed the job. He did complain about how dirty it was under the house but otherwise, was professional and did a great job, exactly as I had specified. He said he would be back in a day or two to drop off the brush plates needed to seal up the holes where the cables emerged but then I never heard back. I eventually called Rite Way and asked about it, mainly just to ensure they hadn't bought anything as I knew I could just get the parts myself. I later got one of the parts at Home Depot and the other through Amazon and fitted them myself without any problem. It was a very minor issue and not something that bothered me. All in all a good experience with Rite Way.
Description of Work: Installed recessed power outlet and cable outlet for flat screen TV. Pulled two customer supplied HDMI cables beneath house, through crawl space.

When the technician started to replace the fixture he discovered that the ceiling box had a stripped socket, and the old fixture had been held in place by only one screw. He then replaced the ceiling box and then put up the new light fixture. I had been tempted to replace the fixture myself and now am really glad I did not try. He also showed me a better way to hold the globe in place than what is usually done. I went to another fixture in the house and did the same to it. .Overall, very helpful, friendly, and extremely knowledgeable. Whenever we have an electrical issue we will call Rite Way, without hesitation.
Description of Work: We have used Rite Way Electric several times and have always been extremely satisfied. This last time we needed a light fixture replaced. We called one day and they came the next.

The bid was on par with two others, and the work was completed on schedule and at the initial budget estimate. The technician recognized the need for a permit, which was arranged. He was very knowledgeable, worked quickly, and made on-the-fly improvements to the initial design. I would use this firm again without hesitation.
Description of Work: As part of a minor kitchen remodel, a new dedicated microwave circuit was run from our panel in the garage up to the ceiling and down into the kitchen. Two other wall outlets were moved and undercounter lighting was installed. A two-way hall lighting switch was repaired, and a circuit in the downstairs bathroom was extended to provide additional wall sconce lighting..

The electricians performed the services exactly as described in the original bid. They were on time, worked very efficiently and cleaned up after themselves. The old service panels were not UL approved and, according to Rite-Way ( and the internet), the panels were a fire hazard. The installers were very careful working around any trim or board and left the work site looking very good even though the new panels were a different size than the old ones. Our place is very difficult to work on and I was very pleased with the results. I highly recommend Rite-Way electric.
Description of Work: Had old service panels replaced plus two receptacles and two switches added. Also had some outdoor lighting added.

They have a list of prices for whatever work needs to be done. There is a flat price for jobs. If the job you want done is listed under a certain category that is the price you pay. They have about eight or ten categories. It does not matter how long the job takes you just pay the rate under that category. You know ahead of time what you are going to pay. They do not come in and do sloppy work, or take their time and charge you for extra work. The first three heaters that they put in made noise and each time they came out and fixed it. They did some research and discovered that there was a problem with the brand that the company had not told them about. They replaced the heater with another brand and did not charge us anything. They were very apologetic about it even though it was not their fault.
Description of Work: They installed a heater.

we have an electric plug not working in the kitchen and in the front yard, I actually joined Angie's list to obtain top reviewed local companies for our quote, left message with 5-6 of the companies, and Rite Way Electric called back the fastest, the person asked me for my problems and scheduled an electrician to visit the same day, gave me an approximate interval of arrival and the electrician arrived toward the later part of the interval. He was well identified with the company car, promptly introduced himself and wore a shoe protector to walk into our kitchen, Tim was polite and knowledgeable, he reviewed the circuit and found the source of the problem was actually not in the plug but in another one after some DIY from a prior resident, additionally he discovered a wiring in extremely poor condition in our cooktop as we asked him to check for additional damages from the DIY, it was a fire hazard, he cut and properly reconnect and reinsulate the cooktop and potentially saving us from a sure house fire in the future if the defect was not discovered. He checked on the plug in the front yard, the breaker panel and the connections to the breakers to make sure things were well and he discovered that actually the front yard plug was activated by the same switch of garage light and only when it is on, it works, furthermore, given the state of the plug, he advised us to disconnect it and provided a water proved box to house the cut and properly insulated wires. As impressed we were with his work, we asked him to check on a third non working plug, this one in the front yard as well, he traced the cord, back to a loose connection that I always thought it belonged to the furnace, he explained how that plug was unsafe and not up to the code, we have no problem to remove it. For close to 1 hour of visit and work. We accomplished the repaired we needed and much more. He asked me if $110 was OK including the work and the component he used (which he detailed the price of each), I thought it was reasonable. I got a bill 2 weeks after and paid with my credit card information. It was a great experience overall, therefore, I am giving the company and particularly to this specific service call by Tim an "A"

Both of us have 1940s-era houses. My wiring was original and I wanted to use oil-filled radiators. They installed four-plexes for me in two rooms, wired to handle that load. I believe they also replaced the 220 wire to what is now a gas stove with more appropriately sized wire. It took a couple of visits solely because I provided the sconces and had to order them. My boyfriend's house took two and a half days because it was a larger job; they had two guys working all the time. I was there doing other work on the house when they did the estimate and while they wired, which is the reason I feel comfortable referring to his job on my review. I was impressed with their dedication and professionalism and would definitely use them again. As a matter of fact I logged on to doublecheck my last review... which I can't find...
Description of Work: RiteWay did a partial rewire of my home in the summer of 2009, I believe, installing sconces, adding a bathroom fan, a dedicated circuit for electronics and grounded outlets throughout. In early 2010 they did a more extensive rewire of my boyfriend's house: wired fire detectors, replaced a bathroom fan, fixed a three-way wiring issue, added grounding throughout and a full-house ground-fault protection. (if the wording there isn't right it's my memory, not their explanation). They also removed some old wiring, moved an outlet and rewired a dryer circuit, and added a dedicated electronics circuit. In both cases they were professional, courteous, focused, and thorough. They took the time to explain options and did not waste any time doing the work. I thought I had written a review for them last year but I can't find it on the site. My memory of the jobs was mine was around $1,100 and his was around $1,500 -- both *slightly* higher than elsewhere but competitively priced and in my view worth every penny.

Our old air handler that is connected to our heat pump needed to be replaced. We hired a company to install a new one; they subcontracted and scheduled Rite Way to do the electrical the same day as the installation. We knew we needed a little electrical work to accommodate our new air handler, but the job turned out to be more involved. We thought we could basically update the existing wiring, but since code has changed since the early 1980's, it turned out we needed a new circuit panel. Also, the condensate pump is now of the plug-in variety instead of the wired-in, so we needed an outlet installed as well, hence a circuit was extended. The job cost about 2x what we had expected (we did not get an estimate since the air handler installer just scheduled Rite Way to come). Actually, the original bill we received in the mail was $940, but was not itemized. When we called to inquire, the office manager worked with us and discovered an error, which lowered the bill. The electrician was professional and courteous.
Description of Work: Rite Way upgraded wiring to our new air handler to bring it up to code. The electrician installed a new circuit panel and extended a circuit.
