Just the fact that they took their time and explain what the parts were what did what and what we needed to look for in case there is a problem, just the basic kinds of things.

Well the people that come out that do the work number their very clean and neat their not greasy and grouchy they put on their little in house booties to come through the house, their meticulous about cleanliness, if they make a mess in the garage they clean it up, their just really really and they pleasant to deal with and if they find a problem they will show you what it is and explain it to you.

Let me start at the beginning: It was a Monday at 8:00 am I first called a company which has provided heating services in Salem for 50+ years thinking that there should be no problem with good service. The person who answered said that there was no one available to talk to me right then and I would get a call back in a short time. By 9:30 I had not heard back, not even to say, "sorry about the delay...". So I told her to skip the request and called Loren's. This was a very pleasant experience. The person I spoke with listened attentively to my problem and asked if the next day (Tuesday) was acceptable. Of course, it was as I had not expected someone to come so quickly, with fall services and furnace checks in October. Shortly after this call Loren's called back and asked if on the same day between 1:00 and 3:00 was o.k. I was delighted! David was professional, efficient, and very pleasant. Loren's is the company I recommend highly based on this experience. When the heater gives up its ghost which may happen in the foreseeable future, Loren's will get my business. Sadly, I have had now bad experiences with 2 local companies which have served this area for decades: the one I called for this job and the one who installed the current furnace; the latter installed a noisy used fan motor and would not make good on it! Loren's Heating and Air, while they may be located in Albany do have a shop in Salem on Hyacinth NE off Portland Road.

I was very happy with the services I received.

They have been out here several times. Since I bought this house, it seems like every time the seasons change something might have gone wrong with the system. I liked their responsiveness, their knowledge and professionalism.

They've always been great, and do excellent work. We had an ancient furnace, and they had an employee who actually understood it, though it did have to go eventually. I didn't compare prices, so I can't comment on their prices.

It went well overall. They had the part on the truck with them when they arrived and it took approximately fifteen minutes for them to install it. I liked the fact that they were honest. They were direct and told me exactly as to how much it would cost me. There were no surprises. They were very polite and very professional. I have also received an estimate from them for installing a new air conditioning unit that they would be installing on the 4th of January 2011.

I called Loren's based on the reviews here, and I wasn't disappointed. My oil furnace wasn't turning on, and they came out the same day to take a look. Turns out it only needed cleaning and annual maintenance, which cost $140.00. They worked hard to squeeze me in the same day, which was excellent because it was rather chilly without heat in December. I would highly recommend this company to anyone.

Number one, they showed up right when they said they would which is always a plus. It took them all afternoon to get it fixed but he stayed right on the job. It was a leak in the lines and he was very persistent to finish the job. I was very happy with the service and I'm happy with the way its working now. I had to have it fixed a couple of years ago and I would have called them to have them come back and fix it but I couldn't find their contact information. The cost seemed high.

Extremely well! The furnace had been quitting occasionally for quite a while. At first I had a different company in to service it, and though they made it work better, the problem was still there. When I called that first company to ask them to come back, they said they would just replace more parts, so I decided to take my business elsewhere...So the next time it died, I called Loren's (just found them in the phone book)-they were the only ones who could make it on the same day. Don their technician quickly diagnosed that the heat exchanger was dirty and full of ash (previous company had not mentioned this), he told me to get it cleaned and gave me the name of a company to do it. He also told me that after cleaning he would need to come back to do further diagnosis. Don did not charge for this first visit. After I had the furnace cleaned out, Don came back and did further diagnosis, and found that the transformer spark was very weak. He replaced the transformer. He also explained that the oil from my old oil tank was dirty (and showed it to me- ck!) and said there was probably nothing to do about it except keep up with regular furnace maintenance. He did replace the oil filter. Don is EXTREMELY knowledgeable and informative. I would recommend him without hesitation to anyone who needs heating/AC repair. Loren's phone receptionist was also helpful and friendly. I am planning to have Loren's come every year to maintain my furnace.
