Gary & Paris did an amazing job! Gary came out to inspect the roof, told us about some dry rot issues and outlined how he would replace it. The 2 story steep pitched barn had some of the original 100 yr old wood shingles covered over by ~50 yr old metal panels that were rusting and the nails were falling out. They tore it off in sections, removed all the old wood shingles (plus bird and bat nests and debris) & replaced with new galvanized sheet metal now screwed in. They replaced wood firing strips and joists where needed; worked in windy cold and sometimes rainy weather. They cleaned up the job site, were super pleasant to work with and clearly knew how to save our old barn. Gary told us he was going to enjoy this project and I wondered that when the weather got nasty. But they worked around the weather in December, finished in timely manner and came in close to bid, given the rot repairs. Our barn is good for another hundred years.! Would recommend Gary Sprauer for any roof!!

I called Gary because he put my parents' roof on, and they were very pleased. They did a lot of research to find a highly recommended roofer, and Gary was their top pick. He met me at the house and climbed onto the roof to look around. Then he told me that the roof needed immediate replacement - it had already been patched several times. The house is owned by Freddie Mac and we were negotiating with FM to get the roof replaced before closing. Gary wrote a letter for us about the condition of the roof that we could submit to the seller. He created an itemized estimate which included all the improvements recommended by the inspector. He and his son work together, and sometimes another professional roofer and a couple of college students. Therefore, it takes about four days. He told me that he could even roof in light rain. I really liked his demeanor. He was down-to-earth, friendly, kind, and professional. He knew what he was talking about, and he has a lot of experience. He re-wrote the estimate to make a couple of changes that we requested, and he called me to follow up. Gary's estimate was the most competitive of the three that we received. To my disappointment, Freddie Mac insisted on choosing their own roofers (and won't reveal the company to us). If we had our pick, we would have chosen Gary.
