Description of Work: Installed saferoom in garage floor. Called the day prior to installation (a Sunday, no less) and verified time they would be there Monday (7am) and they were there at 7am. Took about 4 hours. Cleaned up very well. Removed all dirt and debris, although you have option to keep the dirt if you wish. Very efficient and professional. Office personnel were great too!

Description of Work: They were on time and did a good job. I am not happy with the come-a-long that came with the shelter. It seems to be missing a lever or button to make it easier to use. You should not have to hold your thumb down on the ratcheting device to make it taught.

+ -1 moreThese guys are pros. Everything went like clockwork and the whole job (including cleanup) was completed within 4 hours. Got a high quality shelter and expert installation. Couldn't be happier with this experience. You can find cheaper shelters but be sure you check their history for complaints, etc. Flatsafe is the best.

+ -1 moreI could not have asked for a more professional job...all the way from the showroom to the hard working installation crew. The work was completed in about three hours. All in all, it was value for the money spent.
Description of Work: I just had FlatSafe install an in-garage tornado shelter and I am favorably impressed with the quality of the product and just as impressed with the work crew. They gave me an estimated time of arrival and they showed up fifteen minutes early ready to go to work. When they were finished with the installation they cleaned the garage and left it in better condition than it was before they started. In addition, they performed a thorough checklist and made sure that I was properly instructed on the function of the various safety measures. Would I recommend them? My answer is a resounding yes!

+ -1 moreFollowing the devastating tornados in Oklahoma I consulted Angie's List and made contact with three top-rated shelter contractors asking for specifications and a price list. The only one to respond was FlatSafe and they did so by return mail. It was apparent to me that they not only warranted my business but they deserved my business. I have contracted with them for an installation in September. Obviously, I will withhold my final evaluation until after the installation is complete.
Description of Work: Answered my request in a timely manner and as a consequence received a contract to do the job.

+ -1 moreMy husband and I were pleased with the results of the shelter installation. It took about an hour longer than estimated, to get our old shelter out of the ground. The workers never stopped moving and were polite, patient, and professional. They were thorough in every aspect of the manual labor, and explained all the paperwork to me.
Description of Work: Our existing tornado shelter, only 8 years old, had rusted through the bottom and water had leaked in, filling the underground shelter. We went to visit the showroom of Flatsafe to see first hand what their products looked like, operated, and materials used to manufacture their shelters. The sales rep spent a lot of time going through their product(s) and demonstrating the use of. We had Flatsafe cut out, remove the defective shelter, and replace with one of their products. They didn't charge us for taking out the old one. The two young men who handled the job were contractors who work exclusively for Flatsafe. They arrived on time, completely prepared with all the tools and bobcat needed to remove the old and insert the new. The Dolese concrete truck arrived in a timely manner for the guys to pour and pack the premixed concrete around the new shelter. They did a fabulous job cleaning up and also hauled the old shelter away.

+ -1 moreFlatSafe installed a 4x7x5 (WxLxH) storm shelter in my home in about 4 hours. They were supposed to come early in the morning, but unfortunately they got in a pretty serious car accident. They rescheduled another crew to come out that afternoon and install the shelter. They provided me with a quick walk-through of the shelter, explained the warranty to me, and cleaned my garage and the surrounding area cleaner than what it was. Very professional, prompt, and did exactly what they said they would -- hard to ask for much more. Both the office personnel and crew did a good job of corresponding with me.

They diamond cut the hole, pulled the concrete up, then went in with a backhoe in to get out all the dirt, and then they dropped a stainless steel coated box into the hole. They then pressed it down into the bottom and poured concrete around the edges and smoothed it all out. They did all the little details. It looks real nice.

+ -1 moreFinished in approx 4 hours (crew of 2). Did a thorough job of cleaning up. A latch on the shelter didn't work as well as they thought it should. Another employee brought a new latch out that same day and switched it out. The concrete garage floor was cutout in a perfect rectangle; i.e., no chipped concrete around the cuts. Concrete filler around the sides was evened and smoothed out in perfect alignment with the cuts in the garage floor and the top sides of the shelter. Gave easy to understand instructions on the use of the door and the opening and latching mechanisms.

+ -1 moreI contacted Flat-Safe in May 2011 for information regarding installation and pricing and promptly received the information by e-mail. I also visited the showroom in Yukon to see the installed product. There were 3 models installed in their showroom to help me make a decision which one would work for me. I waited until November to install since there was a long waiting list for installation during spring tornado season. I was called by the installer the day before installation to confirm the time the crew would arrive. He called me again after the crew finished up the prior job to let me know they were on their way. They arrived when he said they would and they got to work. It took about 4 hours from start to finish. They cleaned up the mess and hauled away the dirt. I'm pleased so far. I hope I never have to use it but I have peace of mind knowing it's there if I do need it.
