We had a remodel done on our home through Progressive Contractor Solutions and Mike Devine Plumbing was the plumber the general contractor used. The short version of the story is that almost everything they installed or touched was done incorrectly and had to be redone. (not an exaggeration.) Now the long version: First, 3 of the sinks leaked at the plumbing connections. Mike Devine tried to explain that the fixtures were faulty, this of course was determined by later plumbers to be completely false. They were installed incorrectly. Then one of the toilets leaked, which Mike tried to have his crew fix, but the second attempt ended in failure as well. A subsequent plumber fixed that issue too. They installed a new jacuzzi tub, sealed it, and ran the plumbing without getting the electrical put in causing the $3,000 tub to have to be ripped out and replaced by another plumber once the electrical was installed properly. Another issue regarding that tub was that they didn't have enough room to put in the new fixtures because the marble installer hadn't extended the surround wide enough. Instead of asking the homeowner about what to do Mike Devine Plumbing took it upon themselves to cut wholes in the side of the brand new tub and install the fixtures to the tub from the side, which looked terrible and ruined the tub. When confronted Mike and the general contractor played the blame game. Next, they installed two vessel sinks, but couldn't figure out the overflow drain alignment so they left the sinks leaking on the floor and told my wife and I that the marble was bored out incorrectly and that was why it wouldn't seal. This too was false and a more competent plumber later discovered the problem and fixed it. (it had nothing to do with the marble). Then Mike Devine Plumbing installed our new shower with corresponding wand incorrectly. The diverter was installed wrong so the wand did not work properly. They stated it was a faulty fixture. Again another plumber discovered it was installed incorrectly and fixed the wand. (after tearing out new drywall). On our kitchen faucet Mike Devine Plumbing installed the hot and cold connections incorrectly. (not a big problem, but shows the lack of quality control.) They installed a beautiful new clawfoot tub incorrectly in the second bathroom also, which left the PVC connection showing above the floor instead of ending with the chrome fixture touching the floor. Clearly, a miscalculation on the measurements, but again like clockwork it was a fixture problem. Lastly, Mike Devine Plumbing installed a new filtration system to catch sediment from our drinking water. When our garage flooded we determined from a subsequent and more competent plumber that they had installed it backwards, with filter 4 times too small, and didn't anchor it appropriately to the wall causing the connection to come loose and flood the garage. They also delayed the entire job by not being available, completed items on their 'to do list' halfway causing further delays, and lost brand new fixture parts due to complete disorganization. All the while always blaming someone else on the job. Based on this I think the reason for the low grading is clear.
Description of Work: Plumbing remodel in 3 bathrooms, a bar area, and a kitchen, which included 6 sinks installed, 2 tubs installed, 3 toilets installed, one shower installed, one garbage disposal installed, a Culligan water filtration system installed and a general carbon filtration installed.

He came out and gave us an estimate of $1500, which wasn't that bad until he didn't do the job right. They used the cheapest grade material possible on the planet. There were positions where they cut by mistake and just added couplings to their mistakes instead of actually redoing it. Mike sent his son instead of him, who was apparently just learning. He sent out another tradesman, who was teaching the son how to do things. When we started telling him that we think this wasn't done correctly, he stopped answering our phone calls. They hooked up the humidifier wrong and wouldn't come back to fix that. The drywall guy couldn't put drywall over the shower because the shower device wasn't out far enough, but they wouldn't come back to fix the shower. We had to have another guy come out and fix the shower. However, the tradesman that he had working for him really tried to fix things and do the things we asked him to, but he had to do it through his boss, so he couldn't spend more money on the equipment even though he had it in the truck because his boss said no. I grade them a C only because his one employee really tried to what we asked him to do.
