YANKEE PAINTER

At first he was great, and I was excited to finally have a painter that was good and reliable. But that fizzled out a few weeks into the job. I'd check on the progress often and it never looked like he had done a single thing. I got tired of it and fired him. Painting is not rocket science. My kids did a better job than the 2 "pro's" I hired. They charge a small fortune to do unskilled, easy labor, very poorly. It is a shame!

Fran started out being very professional and punctual. My husband offered to do the prep work for him to help keep the job going (removing doors and hardware, masking off the floors, etc...). Fran started taking my husband's efforts for granted and began treating him like his hired help. We had a very specific contract that detailed when draws would be paid and how much each draw was to be. Fran began demanding more money ahead of what was agreed upon and started working less and less. When my husband confronted him about it, things did not go well and he was fired. The work he did do was of nice quality, but how he handles the money/business end of his business does not reflect quality. We ended up finishing the job ourselves.

He signed a contract for $6,000. After two rooms were painted, he demanded another $5,000 to finish the third room. My husband went toe to toe with him to finish that job at the original quote. My husband ended up paying $300 extra to get the job done. He takes forever to get the job done. He came in and only worked for a couple of hours at a time. It took him four months to finish three rooms. He also had the nerve to request a reference letter from us. He recently pulled the same crap on an employee of my husbands. He also tried to charge us $200 just to plaster a wall socket.

I AM SO GLAD THAT I CAN FINALLY DEPEND ON A COMPANY TO DO AN EXCELLENT JOB WITHOUT OVER CHARGING ME. HE CAME ON TIME AND PROVIDED HIGH-QUALITY SERVICE.
