The Floor Guy

The floor could not be more beautiful. Tom and his crew were skillful, professional, and efficient.

Well from the beginning it went great. I called and he asked that I text my address to him and he would get back to me. He called me very quickly that same day and we set up a day and time for him to come look at the project. Granted - it is an extremely small project but still something I needed done. He told me he would get back to me by Friday with some ideas and a quote and I never heard from him again. That was a month ago. I have sense purchased the materials and plan to do it on my own.

The crew was punctual and professional and did a great job. This was for a house that I was preparing for sale. They communicated well and after preparing the floors put down some sample stains so I could make the best selection of stain colors. The results are beautiful and I received compliments from everyone who saw them. The house sold in two days! I am happy to recommend Tom and his crew and would definitely use again if / when the need arises.

I was very pleased with the response time and Tom in general. He got me an estimate by email within the time frame he said he would. We ended up going with another contractor, however we would go back to Tom for anything else we needed done. My only remark is that the bid could have been itemized or described better on what exactly it entailed. Would hire in the future, just didn't work out for this particular job.

Tom's big on doing the job right, and I fully believe that the value of our home easily went up as much as the cost of this job. We had no idea the original floor could be matched, and figured there would be a division, but Tom's crew laced in new boards, refinished the original room to the color of the new floor, and his crew worked long hours in an attempt to finish as quickly as possible. I know there's sanding and staining smells and its tough to live with any floor install, but they did their very best to knock out a quality job in as little time as possible. They even hand cut each individual board to work around the natural rocks in my fireplace, rather than doing it some cheap and easy way. They left me a batch of stained color samples on the floor after install and before finishing so we could see what we liked best. We are thrilled with the final product.

Tom and his crew were professional, punctual, and very easy to work with. They did what they said they would do and did a great job. The floors turned out beautiful, and they performed the very few punch list items efficiently and to our satisfaction. I would highly recommend Tom to any of my friends. Just a great guy all around, and we would definitely call him again for other work.

Tom's team was excellent to work with - incredibly punctual, thorough, professional, and talented. We let them know that we were under a harsh deadline to get the floors finished in time for our move. They completed everything ahead of schedule for less than what the other guys quoted us. Our job was not the easiest, as we had a cracked slab so they had to float the base and work around some mason work (stone hearth). They actually cut the wood around each piece of stone so it looks like the floor had already been there and the rock was laid on top of it. Beautiful floors, solid craftsmanship, timely, and reasonably priced. Thoroughly pleased with this experience.

The job went off without a hitch, but the sanding ended up being the entire entry hall (6' x 11'). It was stained, refinished and blended with the remaining refinished surfaces beautifully! Superb job overall. They even came back the following day to move the furniture back onto the refinished surfaces (2 big bookshelves and a cabinet). You couldn't ask for nicer, more professional and caring people to have in your home!

All the work was done by one employee, a polite young man named Manuel. Manuel arrived about ten in the morning and never looked up until eight that night. We had to beg him to stop long enough to eat a sandwich. He finished the job the next day, but ran out of grout (not his fault) with three tiles left. Tom, the owner, came out the next morning and finished the job himself. I was quite happy with the quality of work and the look of the floor.

The services were good. We did not have any issues with the price, it was good as well. We get an estimate, have to run a little bit, and he came out to be reasonable. They came in exactly when they were supposed to. It is very timely. They gave us the estimate how long it was going to take and they took care of it.

GREAT experience. I have done two major remodels, worked w/architects, floor people, structural engineers, you name it. Tom knows floors, he was wonderful to work with. I highly recommend him! He told me the real deal on my floors, resolved several issues I had with worn areas, fixed those, and refinished my floors with a dark stain that is PERFECT. Everyone thinks my floors are new ones now. I could not be happier. This was a large job, about half my downstairs area, and continuous through formals, entry, kitchen, breakfast areas. This included high traffic areas. The floors look GORGEOUS. They look brand new. He worked with us on a tough timeline as well, and his people actually worked longer than estimated to get the floors just right, and did not increase the price, they kept to the estimate.. He also showed us how to properly reinstall the refrigerator so we would not have any marred areas when done. There was not a lot of dust, and cleanup was quick. I could not be happier!!! Tom really knows the scoop on flooring, and if we do other flooring, he is my guy now. Would not hesitate to recommend Tom. In fact, will call him if I need other advice on projects.

In the fall of 2012, we moved every stick of furniture out of our house and had Tom and his crew refinish our wood floors in the entire home. The results were amazing! We had no problems with any part of the process and were extremely happy with the finished product. We've gotten rave reviews! We then decided September 2013 to have the old kitchen floor removed and new hardwood (matching) installed and finished to match the 80 plus year old floors. Our first call was to Tom, The Floor Guy. Since we hadn't had it done at the same time we had the other floors refinished, we weren't able to blend the old floors seamlessly (without re-doing the entire dining room floor). Tom recommended we put a level transition strip between the floors stained the same color, which worked out beautifully. They worked very hard to make us happy, and we are. They were very conscientious and put plastic wrap over our cabinets and door to minimize the dust. They cleaned up every speck of the mess (and there was A LOT of mess when they pulled up the old ceramic floor) and carried it away. There were two layers of flooring with sub-floors in addition to the original wood, so it was not an easy job. It took an extra day that they hadn't counted on, but I never heard one complaint from them. His guys just kept working until it was finished. They quickly installed the new floors and finished them in short order. We have a dear friend who has been in construction for decades, and he was amazed at the quality of work when he saw the new floor. He thought it was about the best work he has seen. That's high praise, because he is a perfectionist. Tom is an honorable professional who arrives when he says he will, sends pleasant and efficient employees to complete the project, follows up when it's finished and honors his commitments. I will use him when we re-finish the floors at our rental property at its next vacancy and have highly recommended him to several friends already. The Floor Guy is the only call you really need to make. I'm that confident you'll be happy with the results..

Needed refinishing service done for a 12 x 12 bedroom. First called a reputable company who immediately came out and gave me an $800 estimate, The damage of my floor was great and fault chemical reaction of my own trying repairs.. Also the company said they couldn't match the floor with the rest of my wood flooring in my condo. Called the floor guy for a second opinion who gave a much better estimate and it was fixed in two days the color matched identical. So the fellas that did the service where very polite and could tell they really enjoy their job. Took I think four guys two hours and then came back the next day for an overcoat maybe 20 minutes. Tom the owner is a very nice honest man who is very easy to do business with. *most affordable *friendly *excellent job *close to home

They were great, and I have no complaints. They did everything they said they were going to do, and they got it done on time. They are a good group of people. They are actually less expensive than what the contractor was going to be giving. The quality of their work was superb. I would absolutely use them again in the future.

I was wanting to put wood flooring in my kitchen. The gentleman was very helpful in letting me know what would work best. I had other major issues that needed to be done in my kitchen before a new floor could be put down. He referred a company to come in to fix the water damages in my kitchen . Once my kitchen is complete I will go back to Caleb to have him do my living room, hallway and bedroom wood flooring by sanding and refinishing the floors. The service of helping me with the needs for the house was great and I look forward to seeing how well he does when he works on the flooring in the rest of the house.

From returning the estimate to finishing the job, both Tom, the owner who gave the estimate, and the installer, Gary, were always right on time and went above and beyond the call of duty. Not only did Gary do a great job with the installation, he offered advice on the design and accent tiles that saved us a bunch of money and made it look even better than what we had originally planned. Tom was having tile work done on his home at the same time but made arrangements to have my work done and he kept tabs and checked in when necessary. The hallway leads to all our bedrooms and both bathrooms and we originally thought we would have to get a hotel while the tile adhesive set up, but Gary worked out a plan, at his inconvenience, so that wasn't necessary. He even installed four transitions to adjoining rooms that weren't part of the bid, for no extra charge. And, not only does the floor look great, Gary finished the job ahead of the original schedule. All in all, a very pleasant experience.
