I initially called Robison to see if I can meet with someone to get a general quote and discuss tile placement for the where the door would need to be installed. This was brand new shower and I was installing the tile myself. I wanted to make sure I had tile where the door was to be installed and I explained this to the receptionist. Her response was that they don't come out until the shower is ready to be measured for glass, meaning all tile was installed. I explained again that I wanted to consult with them where the best location of the for the glass walls and door is to insure I had tile where needed especially for the ceiling. She explained that it wasn't necessary because they can install on either tile or drywall/backer board.... With this info I proceeded to tile where I believed logical. When finished I called again to schedule the appointment and about a week later I met with Clark Robison, the owner. Clark pointed out a specific area on my ceiling that was going to be problematic for installation. At this point I explained my frustration since one of their agents insisted that tile placement wouldn't be a problem. Clark admitted that his office should of never said that, and in fact they prefer to come out ahead of time to avoid such problem. Clark went on to apologize several time. He did give me an option that he said would work, but it would require longer, more noticeable installation clips to install. I agreed to go with his suggestion. Clark spent another 20 or so minutes discussing door options and taking measurements of the shower surrounding, even checking if each wall was plum and adjusting his measurements were necessary. Following our first meeting, I paid the 1/2 down deposit or just over $1,000. Two weeks later I received a call from the company saying they received my glass, but they broke it as they were unloading. I understood, accidents do happen after all. They said they would rush manufacturing of a new panel and call me as soon as they had it in... Two weeks later I called to check on the status of the glass since I had not heard back from them. Their response was that it came in a week ago and they were waiting for me to schedule a installation date. This was slightly frustrating because how am I suppose to know to schedule an installation date if no one lets me know my glass is ready. I wasn't going to lose too much sleep over it though. I was just glad to know it was finally ready as my wife had I had been waiting for a month now. They scheduled me for late the following week. Finally, installation date came. The installers were two nice guys, both very friendly. Shortly after starting they the pointed out a problem with the same area of the ceiling that Clark noticed on our original meeting. They eventually called Clark out to look at the problem. We came to the conclusion that the ceiling tile needed to come out about another inch.... This doesn't seem like much of a problem, but it would require me to remove the bull nose and the first row of tile from the ceiling. This becomes a serious problem because you risk damaging the backer board underneath the tile when removing. An air chisel is required to break off the tile which could shoot fragments of tile any direction, towards the brand new tub, the brand new counter tops, the brand new cabinetry or the brand new tile just below. Not to mention all the dust that would surely cover the freshly painted walls, trim, and cabinets. So needless to say I was not happy, but it had to be done. I expressed my frustration with Clark and told him this was handled very poorly. First, the wrong direction given by his office agent. Second, it seems as if Clark didn't accurately measure the space and account for any imperfections. If I were told I needed to push the ceiling out at the initial appointment it would still of been frustrating, but I wouldn't of had to jeopardized damaging other components of the brand new bathroom. I suggested that some kind of compensation to the price of the glass is appropriate. He asked what I wanted him to do, I explained that the bad info I received from his office and him would end up costing me days of labor and probably over $100 in supplies to get it done. Since I was loosing money because of the companies negligence, I suggested it wouldn't be right for him to make any money off me and suggested that the door be installed at cost. This set Clark off and there was an obvious demeanor change. He said he wouldn't do that, but instead he would get all the glass out, clean up, and leave so I could find someone else to do the job. He didn't attempt to negotiate or meet me in the middle. I was taken by total surprise. All I wanted was some sort of effort to make things right. It didn't need to be giving me the glass at cost, but some sort of discount would of gone a long way to making me feel better about the poor service I had received to that point. Like I said, I was shocked, I mean to just leave a job after several costly mistakes (that Clark admitted to), all over a customer request, not a demand. A request that is totally called for in my opinion. So here I am, over a month later starting all over again with holes in my tile from the attempted install. To be fair, Clark did agree to send me compensation for drill hole damage, but I still felt far from satisfied, quite frankly I feel screwed over. Not only do I have days of labor to fix a problem that could of been avoided twice, but I'm at best 2-4 weeks from having a shower door. My best advice is use this company at your own risk. They were recommended to me so they must of done good work somewhere. Maybe I caught Clark on a bad day, but I surely will not recommended this company to anyone I know.

We contacted several local glass companies to quote our tub surround. Robinson seemed to be the only company interested in this small job. They sent a tech out in a couple days to measure and discuss what we wanted. Other companies wanted to give us a quote over the phone. We ended up with 2 quotes; Robinson was a little higher than the other company. When we ordered the surround, they set an appointment date to install it, showed up on time, and finished the job in about half a day. However upon inspecting the work that evening, I noticed one of the sliding doors was not plumb. We called them the following day, and within a couple days the tech was back out and fixed it, and apologized for leaving it that way. He was clearly embarrassed to make such an error. Overall the job was well done.

I called Robinson Glass this Monday and asked for a verbal estimate to replace a window pane. I emailed a picture of the broken window and got a verbal ball-park estimate. I called them back and scheduled the repair for the next day. Around 5 PM the next day I received a voicemail saying they didn't have any cancellations and couldn't get to me. They said i was still flagged for service and they would try to work me in. First, I didn't know my service call was on a cancellation basis because I was told they had room the next day. Never did they say they were booked for the next day which I should have been told Second, and most important, I am STILL WAITING for a call to have the broken window pane replaced! It's been 5 days since I called them. In the meantime, I found another glass company who saved me $60.00 over the verbal quote I got from Robinson Glass. I haven't had service this bad in a long, long time from anyone. I'll add one last note. As I was completing this review, I am asked where was the service performed but I only had two option my home or the provider's location. The service was to be performed at a rental property location which I could not add.
Description of Work: It's what they didn't do that's relevant here.

Response from Robinson Glass Co
[Member Name Removed], I am so sorry that you didn't receive the service that you expected. I don't know where the break down in communication occured. I have reviewed the communication sheet attached to the order and the CSR that was supposed to be helping you noted that she was going to work the job in as soon as possible. She also noted that she left a voice mail for you on the 21st indicating that we still did not have an opening. She also noted that she left a voice mail today about repairing the window tomorrow. I am glad that you were able to get the window repaired. I am sorry that we weren't able to respond in a more timely manner. We have worked hard since 1978 to build a good reputation in the Tulsa area. We usually do a much better job meeting our customer's needs. I am sorry that your experience was not to the standard that you expected or that I would want. In addition, I hope that we will have an opportunity in the future to serve you and will be able to prove to you that we really do provide excellent service to our customers. If I can be of assistance, please do not hesitate to call me. Best Wishes, Clark Robinson

I called Robinson Glass, got a helpful rep, was told i could bring the car right in, which I did. A tech looked at the chip, said they could fix it and took the car in while I did paperwork. I had hardly got settled in the waiting area before the rep told me the car was ready. It might have taken 30-45 minutes overall. Very impressive.

The gasket surrounding the front upper bunk window on my Country Squire class C RV was shrinking and pulling away from the window channel. I provided a sample of the needed gasket material to Robinson, and they promptly ordered in the quantity required. They then scheduled an appointment for me to install it. I arrived on time, and Robinson removed the old gasket and installed the new one to my satisfaction. A very good experience overall. I would highly recommend them.

They came out to install glass for my sliding glass door, but the glass they brought out was not the right size. The service Tech took measurements, and wrote down glass numbers. Roberson then call we with a price for special size glass with tint. I gave then the OK to order it. a month later the Tech came back out an installed it. It looks great

I needed a new windshield in my car. I called to get a quote. The employee I talked with was personable, I made the appointment at a convenient time for me. The price was comparable to others that I received quotes from. I will definitely use them again and refer others to them.
