Description of Work: They refurbished a set of four dining room chairs. The work included some very delicate repairs, refinishing and replacing the cushioned seat on the chairs. The chairs are a part of an older, very well made set, including the table. Quality Furniture did an outstanding job and treated us more like family than customers. We would recommend Quality Furniture very highly and wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

I contacted them a month ago as I had found them on line. Their site offers a free estimate. I wanted a re-upholtery quote. His email was short and sweet. Send pictures and dimensions. (I did as told) I called him explaining that the sectional was ruined by another company in a move. That there "may be " a lawsuit involved, but we need a quote to see if the damage that was done could be fixed. I later got off the phone with the company that was helping us resolve this issue and they told me, to get an estimate from this company and they would use him instead of the company that ruined it. That we could go forward with no issues. My husband called him right away to let him know. We sent a ton of pictures, and dimensions of sectional. The comapny stated HE HAD TO COME OUT FOR THE ESTIMATE! That it was $120 to come out and that this does indeed not come off the top of the repair. We found this VERY HIGH!!!! His response was: "You called me... You are asking me to come to your house, inspect your furniture and take pictures, return to my shop, decide the best course of action, price out the repairs, do a quote, surely you don't expect that for free?" Funny thing, is we did half his work, we took 8 pictures, of all areas, far and close up, we explained what material was used on the furniture that ruined it. We gave him all dimensions of the sectional. HIS WEBSITE STATES FREE ESTIMATES. So it's $120 to just come out and look at our sectional??? We emailed him back asking again for this free estimate they offer online and he refused our business!!!! Very unprofessional. I spoke with several other shops, they charge fee's to come out, but nothing even close to $120. They stated (along with many people we know in the tulsa area) to go elsewhere that this guy is taking advantage of us and the situation. I plan to do just that! I HIGHLY discourage you from using this company. Chris Tittel, is the most unprofessional person I have dealt with via email and phone. Vendor did not come to our home, as we wanted the FREE estimate he offers online. We wanted it up-holstered after getting new from another vendor that it couldn't be repaired, when we told his this, he refused the estimate and business! He states there are laws against slander. I owned a catering business for many years, I am very aware of laws in owning a business. My review is the truth, it is not slander. It is the course of action this company used. I stated his email came off rude, instead of being professional he then just decided our business was not worth his time. What did we do wrong as a customer? We did all the work! We explained that that what he wanted to come out seemed overly high!!! THIS review is not slander!!! Thank you

Response from Quality Furniture Repair
The customer initially called asking for a repair estimate, and report, to be given to her moving company, and for use in a possible lawsuit. I explained that we charge for that type of an estimate and formal report. She said she would call back. Her husband then called back wanting to send pictures, I explained that I would probably need to see the furniture personally, but to send pictures if he wanted. After viewing the pictures I again told them I would need to see the furniture, and explained why we charge for that service. He absolutely did not want to pay for a repair estimate. No problem, services offered, services declined, normal business goes on. The customer decided to continue to persuade us to do the inspection for free by saying they had been burned before, and basically did not trust us to give them the estimate after paying for it. At that point I tried to gently end the the conversation. But, he then paid another company to come out for an estimate, and afterword again demanded we give him a free estimate. I am submitting the following e-mails starting with my attempt to end the discussion. I have removed any links to the customer's e-mail address. On Sep 26, 2014, at 8:36 PM, Chris Tittel wrote: [member name remove] mentioned a possible lawsuit. We are not talking million dollar jobs here. I do not add to the price of the work to cover estimates or commissions, so I have to charge for my time. If I did not care about and want the work, I would not try so hard to take care of my customers to get and keep the quality reputation we have. Very rarely, we find a customer that we can't seem to mesh with, I think we are there. I wish you good luck in the frustrating situation you are dealing with, I think we could have helped you. Chris Tittel Oct 3 at 8:27 AM To [member name remove] I am truthfully sorry that we could not seem to get on the same page. You initially wanted a repair estimate for your moving company, and a possible lawsuit. I gave you a price for that work, you declined, along with grouping us in with dishonest people you have dealt with in the past, and denigrating us for expecting to get paid for our time. You did not want to pay for an estimate, yet, you did pay for an estimate from someone else, just not as much. Two e-mails ago, I acknowledged that we were at a point that we should not do business together. Then you still asked for our services for free. Post reviews as you deem necessary. Make sure you are truthful about our conversations. I get a chance to respond to any reviews, and I have all of the e-mails to back me up. Remember, there are laws about slander also. Very rarely, we find someone we just can't seem to please. In this case we found out before any business was done. People in Oklahoma are the same as people every where, they respond to the attitude presented to them. Let's both count our blessings and move forward. Chris Tittel Comcast Oct 3 at 8:35 AM To Chris Tittel Sorry I have no interest in reading your email. It has been deleted. I don't like dealing with lairs and unprofessional people. Reviews will be left and I ask that you not contact us again! Thank you!! ...................................................................................................................................................................... Please judge for yourselves. We offer free upholstery estimates to the customer. For formal reports for insurance, moving damages, and legal issues, we charge for the inspection and report. We try extremely hard to make every customer happy, and many times we do more that we agreed to do. Somehow we failed to connect with this potential customer. But, at this point, it's probably for the best. Chris Tittel Quality Furniture Repair 5044 E Admiral Pl. Tulsa OK 74115 918-834-0190

I took the foot stool into Quality Furniture Repair and Chris took a look at the stool and told me what he could do to make it look brand new. I had purchased the Ethan Allen piece at an estate auction. Chris stated he could re-tan the leather and put new silver tabs on the stool, also taking out any ripples that were on the side of the stool. In a few weeks, Chris called and stated the foot stool was ready. I couldn't believe my eyes. It looked absolutely brand new and the leather looked amazing.

The process was not quick, but it was well done with work that acknowledged the age of the various pieces rather than attempting to make it look new or perfect. I'm quite happy with the results.

Chris and his staff came and picked up the furniture. They began stripping the cabinets and worked diligently on the project. There were some structural issues that they repaired and also added permanent shelving in the old english school house cabinets. The cabinets are approximately 8' high. The rocker was stripped, reglued and stablized. The coat rack was a challenge as it was from the 1920's and had been stained with a dark tar stain. This had to be stripped off and some of the piece had to be glued. One of the pegs on the coat rack had to be had made as it was missing. The last piece was one I purchased from Quality Furniture and Repair which was a very unique piece. They completed the redesign of the piece and stained the piece to match all the others. I stopped by the shop several times to watch the progress of the work and was so pleased with the transformation. The work was amazing....and I mean amazing. This furniture turned into beautiful, gorgeous pieces for our home. I have highly recommended Quality Furniture and Repair in the past for re-upholstry, but the woodwork and re-finishing is also of the highest quality. I have sent another piece for refinishing and also have four chairs currently being re-upholstered. Most professional, kind staff and the best service ever.
Description of Work: I asked if they could refinish an old english school house cabinet and another antique cabinet and stain them dark to match my other furniture. Also, asked if they could refinish an antique coat rack, and my great grandmother's rocker all in the same dark stain.

They stripped the table down to the wood, rebuilt the broken legs to restore it to original condition. We were asked to pick out the color finish. The job has taken several weeks to complete due to the backlog of other work, but the work has been exceptional, bringing my grandmother's dining room table back to complete restoration. The table and chairs will continue to be passed along to family for generations. At completion we have now received a fully restored Duncan Phyfe dining table that belonged to my grandmother. The legs were broken in several pieces, requiring complete restoration. The table was sanded and refinished beautifully. Three 24" leaves were built with a beautiful laminate finish that allows us to seat over 12 easily and with enough chairs possibly more. Quality Repair has been of the highest professional quality, making sure that we have received an exceptional product. The price was considerably more than I would have liked, however, given the damage to the table and the additional expense of producing leaves we could not have done this for less. I recommend this company for their workmanship. They are not fast paced, due to the nature of their work, but the completed product is high quality.

These chairs were my grandparents and parents chairs. They had been re-upholstered once and they were outdated. Chris Hittle made a trip to my house for pickup service and took all three chairs at one time. He has had the chairs for a while now, but due to income tax payment, I had to put off having them worked on. They met my timeline requirements and made every attempt to satisfy me as a returning customer. Chris Hittle and his staff are so polite and service oriented. I would definitely send any and all my furniture repairs to his shop. They do amazing quality work. I am very lucky to have found them on Angie's List when I moved to Tulsa.
Description of Work: I had three chairs re-upholstered. All three were quality pieces of furniture from the 60's and 70's. I did a wing back chair with a linen fabric with tacks put around the chaiir. It turned out gorgeous and looks so much like it came from Pottery Barn. Gorgeous. I also had two cushions for another chair done in a camel color. Also beautiful. The final chair was a chair that was part of a sofa group. So it was a very traditional type of chair. I had it re-upholsterd in white linen. GORGEOUS!

TIt took quite a while because our job was small and done on a "space available" basis but they went beyond what we had bargained for and did a nice job of touching up most all of the damage. Excellent job on the veneer damage repair.
Description of Work: They repaired damage to a small side table with drawers - much of it to the veneer. The work was good and they did more than we agreed to which was a pleasant surprise.

Quality Furniture Repair - I found Quality Furniture Repair on Angie's list. I called them and they actually came and picked up three couches and three chairs. The couches were the first project. I went to their place of business and picked out my fabric and described how I wanted to give the couches a modern look. Quality Furniture Repair has TONS of fabric to choose from. Once the fabric was ordered, I described how I wanted the tacks to outliine the couches. Chris and his staff began work on the couches and after several weeks, called and told me they were ready. The couches were delivered today by Chris and staff. The transformation was incredible. I just love them. Could not be happier with the work they perfomed. I would never have dreamed the old couches I sent to them could turn into such great looking pieces of furniture. I am so proud of them and am very excited to see what they can do with the three chairs that I have also sent to them. The couches they recovered are now a charcoal grey with silver tacks outlining the features of the couches. I am thrilled to death with the results and would highly recommend Quality Furniture Repair to anyone needing furniture re-upholstery.
Description of Work: Quality Furniture Repair - Re-upholstered three 1960 style couches. The couches had been re-upholstered years ago and this was the second time they had been redone. They are quality pieces of furniture that were a formal living room style of couch. I had them re-upholstered to give a more updated look using tacks and did not put skirts on the bottom of the couches. These were my grandparents and parents couches and had sentimental value. They also were very good pieces of furniture and I knew the investment I was making was into the quality of furniture that they were and would continue to be. It was costly, but you cannot purchase good quality furniture now adays that will last a lifetime.

I took a small children's chair to Quality Furniture Repair; my son had used it from age 1 to (his then age) 15. This chair was fairly well made, and we all continued to use it as a gaming/tv chair. Unfortunately, it had also been used by a fairly large adult a few times, and the cushioned arms had begun to separate from the frame. The original fabric was not high quality, and was pretty awful after all those years! I wanted to restore the little chair for my son, with the idea that it might be used for HIS children someday. Quality Furniture Repair was really helpful explaining what needed to be done to fix the frame, and patiently stood by, and helped when needed, while I looked at the fabric choices (I'm pretty picky). I must say I was surprised at the cost! But as explained, although the fabric needed for a small chair is less than for a full-sized one, the workmanship that goes into the upholstery and repair is exactly the same........just on a smaller scale. Made sense, though as I said, cost double what I'd thought it might. The little chair turned out beautifully, and no doubt, better made than it had been when new! It was sturdier......that was obvious....and the fabric was worthy of generations to come. I was thrilled. I would say......is what you are restoring/reupholstering important? If it is, take it to this company. If budget is more important than quality, maybe not. But in the long run, I'd rather have something done right, done well, and not have to do it again......that's time AND money I've wasted! Highly recommend. Getting ready to use them again.

I dropped off my 2 very large and expensive speakers for repairing dog teeth marks on the corner & changing the stain color to match new wood finishes on other furniture. It does take a while because they are busy, but it was well worth the wait. They even prepared a sample of different variations for my viewing before starting the job. This is the second time I have used their services. The first time was for black bedroom furniture that I purchased for my step daughter. It was damaged from the retailer, but they could not fix it or even get the black stain to match.......so I took it to Quality Furniture Repair and now it looks like brand new. You would not even know it was damaged.

I met with Chris when I took the cushions into the shop. Together we looked at various leather and vinyl materials that could be used to repair the cushions. Chris was knowledgeable about the durability of the different materials, and he helped me select a color and type of leather that would match well with my sofa and the kind of use it gets in my home. I left the cushions on 7/21/09, and on 7/29/09, Cathey called to say the cushions were ready to be picked up. I am very pleased with the workmanship.
