House Of Color Painting

This was the WORST experience I have ever had with house renovation/repair. House of Color was hired to paint the interior of our house while we were out of town. Upon returning from our trip, we were furious with what we found. "Flashing" was evident all over the house, which was very noticeable with the eggshell finish on the walls. The paint on the door trims and baseboards began coming off within a week, as it was not initially sanded and/or primed. THEY USED MY TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT (that I had naively not locked up) from my other various projects. Overall, $1,800 worth of MY tools and equipment were used and destroyed, which they did not replace or subtract from my total payment. They DID NOT COVER the windows, fan blades, floors, counters, or white painted trim (which had to be RE-PAINTED). There was PAINT SPLATTER EVERYWHERE, that had to be expensively removed by professional cleaners, using various tools and chemicals. The sinks and bathtub were also filthy from where they washed their equipment. The owner of the company did say the mistakes were due to a negligent employee (who was subsequently fired) and tried to fix the mistakes (which was a poor excuse considering the extent of the mistakes and negligence). However, my used/destroyed equipment was never replaced or paid for, and their touch-ups of all mistakes were poorly done as well. I WILL NEVER use this company again, and I have since switched contractors.

House of Color owner Cliff was prompt in bidding on the project and gave me a fair price, which was as not the lowest by any means. However, I have never seen a better paint job anywhere - in particular their cut-in work. We have 20-foot walls in one room, which were handles expertly and safely. The owners did most of the work, bringing in a helper for one day; everyone was professional and personable. They kept a neat worksite and were respectful of our home. I can recommend that you use this company!

Cliff and his team did an outstanding job transforming our condo. So many major and minor repairs had to be done before the painting could even begin and at no extra cost to us. And, when finished, it was perfection. Our condo is now a showcase, greatly in part to Cliff.

Cliff and two of his personnel cleaned every thing thoroughly and stained the ramp, deck, and landscaping logs! They were punctual and efficient. Cliff is professional and easy to deal with! I have contracted him to paint our house in June!

I called Cliff solely based on the reviews I read on Angie’s List. I was set on obtaining 3 quotes, and Cliff was my first phone call. He was free to meet me the following morning, and his quote was so reasonable that I hired him on the spot and forgot about getting more quotes. His crew showed up on time and finished the job in one long day. They did a great job and I would definitely use him again. Is everything 100% perfect? No. We found a couple places where paint dripped. But nothing in life is perfect and we were happy and satisfied with Cliff, his crew, and the work.

Cliff was prompt to come over and give me an estimate. I found it to be reasonable and I hired him. He and his crew were very pleasant too work with and professional. They moved the heavy pieces of furniture and replaced it when done. Their work was very well done and looked great when finished. I was very pleased with the whole experience. I would without any doubts recommend Cliff and his guys.

They did a great job. Worked efficiently got the job done in the estimated time& quoted price. They were also great with are dogs. We will use them again in the future.

He did excellent work. He even honored our deal a few months after it was expired because we had just found out we were pregnant and didn't know what color we wanted the room to be.

We purchased the Angie's Deal for $99.00 for one room of painting. The whole process went smoothly, from scheduling the appointment to the completion of the paint job. He was very professional and courteous. The entire job took about 3 1/2 hours to prep, paint and clean up. We would definitely use him again.

Cliff did a fantastic job with both and what quite professional in his interactions and work. I appreciated the fact that he wanted the result to be the best possible -- repairing some minor wall issues to ensure it looked great! He did a few extra things for me -- as I did not want to get on a high ladder, myself. I truly appreciated the professional work, his painstaking attention to detail, and fast response to return for minor fixes. I would definitely hire him again to work at my house!

They arrived when they said they would arrive.

They did a good job. There were a few places that needed a touch up and Cliff came by the next day and took care of them.

HOC was responsive to my preference to have a few dry days for curing after painting was completed, which made it more difficult for them to schedule the work. HOC performed the work in a timely manner. HOC's bid was more affordable than bids of two other contractors. There were minor cleanup issues after completion that I have or will handle myself. Concerns that I expressed were addressed verbally, in person, a couple of days after the job's completion.

They were excellent. It could not have been better. He just made it look fresher and cleaner, which is wonderful. He was a miracle worker. I have gotten other bids and his was the best. I'm going to use him again, I've got three more rooms to do.

Everything went well, very timely, very professional and helpful.

The was the best experience of having my home painted I could ask for. The cost was just as he had quoted. Would for sure use Cliff Lamb again and again. Highly recommend

Upon receiving our inquiry the owner (Cliff) was very prompt to meet with us and provided us with an estimate. Work was initiated just a few days later. The painter arrived shortly after the scheduled time on Monday to begin the project. Due to problems with his vehicle on Tuesday he did not return until Wednesday and completed the job by late afternoon. The owner arrived later that evening to assess the work that had been done. He assisted us with moving our larger furniture items back into place. He seemed genuinely concerned about our satisfaction. Although we were pleased overall with the work that was done clean-up was less than expected. We found white paint splattered on our our slate gray kitchen sink and surrounding areas for several days following completion of the job. Unfortunately we didn't realize the clean-up issues until after Cliff had left that day. Overall we were pleased with the work that was done and would consider House of Color Painting for future projects.

Come on time for both estimate and each day for the work. Cleaned up, we're professional and all work done in a timely manner. Price was more than fair. Very happy with the job and would use them again.

Cliff with House of Color painted the interior of my house and did an excellent job. The job was done in the time he said it would be and they did a very good job. He called me to follow-up on doing any touch-up that might be needed after the interior doors were installed. Cliff was always responsive to my (many) phone calls and had infinite patience with all my questions. I would definitely use him again.

The owner was prompt in his appointment for providing the estimate. He was able to schedule us within a couple of weeks. He explained the scope of work and method of application (roll on instead of spray due to high winds and avoiding overspraying neighbors). Due to these factors, which we determined were reasonable, the job would take longer and therefore cost more, but we believed it to be worth it. The estimate included a discussion on scale of work to be done, materials to be used, proper preparation of the various surfaces, etc. Which is why we ultimately chose him to paint our house. The workers arrived promptly on the promised day, worked all day every day, left the work areas tidy each evening, finished on time, and the price was as promised. The owner inspected the work progress periodically over the week. I was particularly concerned about not getting paint drops on the front porch and back flagstone patio. There was not a drop of paint there. Upon completion, he said to call him if we noticed anything. We visually inspected the area as well and noticed nothing at the time. A couple of weeks later, we noticed the area under an eave was unpainted, and neither we nor he had noticed it. We called the owner and he promptly came out and painted that part himself, He reinspected and again stated that if we noticed anything at all to call him and he would take care of it. We have been extremely pleased with the painting work House of Color did did for us.
