Following a neighbor's tree falling on my house, Blackmon has repeatedly dropped the ball on getting the damage repaired to my roof and siding. On top of that, the last person they sent out (Jim) was either so lazy, or so incompetent, that he flat out refused to go into the attic, to inspect the damage that occurred, and low balled the repair estimate so much, that we are literally having to start the entire process over with another company. Also, getting either a GM or VP to contact us back has proven nigh impossible, even though each person we have talked to on the phone said "they respond very quickly". It's been over a month waiting on the repairs, and going on two weeks waiting to have a higher up contact us back.

We had an insurance claim to repair a damaged kitchen and wood floor due to an ice maker line break. Ultimately, We chose Blackmon Mooring as recommended by the insurance company. At the time, they seemed very professional and it sounded like the work would take no more than 2 weeks to a month to fix. In reality, they started in July and finished in October. Blackmon Mooring used no actual employees but sub-contactors. When the sub-contractors came to our house it was typically a few guys in pickup trucks. These men usually spoke no english or had one person that kind of spoke english and translated. In most instances, when they came to our house they had no idea what needed to be done. Every piece of the project had to be redone. The plumbing is a good example of the total ineptitude we experienced. In the process of seting the plumbing fixtures such as the toilet in the guest bathroom and the kitchen sink, the usual charaters came to perform the work. In the process of replacing the guest toilet, they set it and connected it only to discover that it had a leak. It took them approximately 2 hours of fiddling with the toilet before they told me there was a problem. So, they left because they did not know what to do. I'm not plumber, but I've installed toilets and looked at and found there was a large crack in the tank. Well, I don't know if these guys cracked it but that was irrelevent as the toilet was replaced by the contractor. The thing that really bothered be was that it took them so long to do this and after I removed the toilet, much to my surprise, they did not place a new wax ring between the toilet and floor. Again, not a plumber, but those rings are important. So, we waited and after a week or two, they finally brought a new toilet to be installed but did not install it quite yet. because they started on the kitchen sink. Again, it took one man at a minimum 4 hours to get it installed and realized after he was done, did not put any P-traps in. Again, not a plumber, but I believe those are necessary. I finally called the insurance company and requested they send an actual plumber. Not long after that, we were called that a plumber would be here the next day. The following day, the plumber arrived and, by himself, installed the new toilet and kitchen sink as well as redid the plumbing in about 2 hours. Everything was completed as expected. Ultimately, the job was finished but it took way too long and now that we've been living with the work for a couple of months, we are finding that the wood floors are starting to crack and separate. Of course, now that I've signed off on the work I'm afraid that there is not much I can do about it. In a nutshell, DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE. If you need any work done to your house, they will screw it up and take way longer than expected. Yes, I should have done some research and in the future I will but regardless, don't make the mistake I did and use Blackmon Mooring.
Description of Work: This was an insurance claim due water damage from a broken ice maker line. Most of the damage was to the wood floor in the kitchen and hallway. About 80% of the wood floor had to be replaced and refinished. In the process, the kitchen cabinets had to be removed and reset.

They have been great. They always come when I call so there is not a tremendous wait. They do the job and they do it effectively. I have been using them for years. Their demeanor is fine.

Overall, the experience of the fire and subsequent repairs went very well. The house has new ceilings and walls and new paint and carpet. All those things were needed even before the fire. I felt Blackmon-Mooring had all the needs in mind and covered them very well. Their representative was always checking to see if we were satisfied with each of the services they provided.
Description of Work: At 1 am on Sept 3, 2011 our house caught fire. I started on the outside wall of the back porch, went up the wall into the attic. The Tulsa Fire Department had it out in due time and also treated me for smoke inhallation at the scene. At 10AM the same day, a representative of Blackmon-Mooring knocked on our door and asked about the fire and if we needed help. Our homeowners insurance is with Farmers Insurance Group and is for replacement cost, not actual cash value. Replacement cost is the only way to go in my opinion. Within the hour, Blackmon-Mooring had all of our smoky clothes and drapes on their way to being cleaned. A supply was returned the next day looking and smelling like brand new. I am very pleased with the treatment of the clothing and upholstered furniture. Blackmon-Mooring crews boxed everything in the house and moved it to storage while the repairs to the house were made. Their crews took out the smoked insulation, cleaned all the air ducts, washed soot off the woodwork in the house and ran equipment inside in order to get the smoke smell out so people could work on the interior. They hired Sage Construction to rebuild the rafters and roof, put new sheetrock on the ceilings and walls, repaint several rooms and lay new wall to wall carpet. I am pleased with the work that was done by everyone concerned. The moving and cleaning crews had a lot of heavy work and they accomplished it in swift order. The house is better in every way than it was before the fire.
