They were excellent but it did take some time for them to come and get the job finished. They do the job right and I had the time to wait so I used them. They remodeled a 1929 garage for me and built a beautiful environment. The carpenter is very creative and perfectionist.
Description of Work: trim carpentry, electrical work, built a cabinet, tongue and groove valuted ceiling, laid a carpet, installed cabinet hardware, installed very large ceiling light. They also removed garage sliding doors and installed an Alder and six staineed glass window paneled door which is lovely.

I have used him two times. They do great work and are very through. He was able to find a problem from the previous installer of the fan it was installed improper and could have fallen.

A repairman came to give us a quote right away after my initial call to the company. Within a few minutes I had a prepared quote and he was able to start on the job in a few days. The repairman was on time and was pleasant. He did a good job and was willing to work around my crazy schedule for the day the work was completed. I would use this company again without any reservations.
Description of Work: We had a piece of rotten wood on our homes exterior replaced. The wood around two windows was sanded, primed and painted. Our front door trim was repaired, primed and painted as well.

Their quote was too high. They were punctual. They came in at the time when they said they would come. They looked at the fence and gave me the estimate. The estimate was free. I would probably not use their services again in the future.
Description of Work: I got an estimate from Andy on Call for my fence work. I did not use their services. They came out in August 2010 and gave me a quote for my fence repairs.

Yes, we did come out to this customers home and spent our time to give them a FREE estimate for fence repairs. We did this almost a year ago (June 11th 2010). Why they would even bother to post this as a complaint almost a year later is beyond me. Especially since we did exactly what we were asked to do, when we said we would do it!!!

First appointment: he did not show up. Called him- said he meant to call us but he got busy and we "fell through the cracks". Rescheduled; second appointment, did not show up. We called him one hour after scheduled appointment- said he was running late. After that we told him we were canceling the job-- response was "Okay" and he hung up on us. This is professional? In my opinion, companies who operate this way cannot be trusted to complete a job. Trust begins to be built when the worker, first, shows up, and second, shows up at least close to on time.
Description of Work: Made appointments to get minor repairs done to siding on back of house and to caulk windows.

This customer is right. Our Craftsman did not take care of them as well as he should have! Sometimes personal struggles get in the way of proper performance of responsibilities and that was the case in this situation. Our Craftsman called the customer about 10 minutes after he was scheduled to be there to start their job to let them know he was running late but that he was on his way. The customer told him not to bother to come so our Craftsman did not argue the point with him. Although it is always our intention to be professional in every business relationship we have, we do not always succeed at it.

Andy on Call was able to send a handyman out with 2 hours. He arrived early and provided a detailed quote. I asked if he could start the work right away and he completed the job within 3 hours. Cleaned work area and sorted trash for disposal. Honored my coupons as well. Will call again. Very pleased.

Poor aside from carpenter service which was good and first electrician. I will probably not use this company again.
Description of Work: Got my cabinet doors painted and new glass put in. The carpenter is amazing and professional. This is the only service I can truly say I might use from this company if this carpenter continues with them. First electrician was great and fixed my fans. Second electrician was no good. Could not help with new light fixtures and spent most of his time talking about chatting on the internet with underage kids in China and other Asian countries. Very uncomfortable. Plumber was the worst. Never came when he said he would, and this on about 3 separate occasions. Did not ever seem to come up with what was wrong. I had to go to another company that fixed the problem immediately.

He was a bit late for the appointment. However once he got here, he got all the work done. I shopped around and his price was the best one. He cleaned up after himself. I would use them again in future.

At first all went well. I received a call from Alan and was told that he was able to start a week early because he was on vacation. It did not occur to me what he meant by that at this time. After working days, sometimes arriving well after the 9:00 AM start time he had told me, he had not quite finished tearing out the old bath. Then I was informed that "Next week I won't be able to get here until about 1:00 PM because I have to go back to work." Apparently, he works for UPS, and this is a side job. Not what I bargained for. But as the work progressed, he rarely arrived at 1:00 PM. Always with a reason he was held up at work. The work progressed slowly. We would be eating dinner, he is there working. Often until between 7 and 8:00 PM. Toward the end, he asked me if I really wanted him to fix this one big crack in the wall because the mirror would hide it when he put it back up. As it stands now, he failed to repair one of the cracks in the wall, he didn't paint except where he fixed cracks in the corners of the walls. He didn't even paint the drywall he installed in the shower. I don't think he sealed the grout properly because when we take a shower it turns from biscuit, (an off white color), to gray. Then when it drys it goes back to biscuit. We had three ceramic shelves, and a ceramic soap dish put in with the tile in the shower. The soap dish is crooked, and the shelves are not angled so as to be able for the water to drain out of them, so they retain water after showering. We have to pick up the shampoo bottles from each shelf and brush the water out with our hands before we get out of the shower stall. When he reinstalled the toilet, he left the studs uncut and without caps. He offered to cut them and silicone my old caps onto the studs but I declined, that's not the way it's supposed to be done. In the end, he was there better than three weeks, and the work was sub-par. You would think after taking three times as long it would be at least be done right. I was offered by Andy on Call to have Alan come back and fix the discrepancies, but quite frankly after what has transpired, I don't want them back. I will either hire someone to fix this mess, or do it myself.
Description of Work: I have a small bathroom in my master bedroom. The shower needed to be re-tiled, and new plumbing fixtures installed. The bath floor had carpet to be removed, and tile put in it's place, and the walls had some cracks to be repaired. As an afterthought, we had a new vanity and sink cabinet installed with new faucet. I explained that this was a test repair. I told Alan, (the man who was doing the estimate, and would be doing the work), that I was not so concerned about the size of the estimate as long as it was for a complete job. I was willing to pay, but wanted everything done so I don't have to come back and do it again in a year or two. If the job went well, I had more work I needed performed. I was given the price of labor, and told that the price of materials would either be added to the total if Andy on Call picked them up, or I could pick them up. I chose the latter since my wife and I had to go to pick them out anyway. I was told that the job would take approximately four days.

WE ALWAYS CALL OUR CUSTOMER'S AT THE COMPLETION OF A JOB TO MAKE SURE THAT THEY ARE SATISFIED AND HAPPY WITH THE WORK WE HAVE PERFORMED FOR THEM. WE CALLED THE MEMBER ON 11/21/08 AT THE COMPLETION OF HIS JOB AND HE INDICATED HE WAS HAPPY WITH THE COMPLETED JOB. THE CUSTOMER CALLED US ON 11/26 AND SAID HE IS NOT SATISFIED WITH THE JOB AND WOULD LIKE US TO COME LOOK AT IT. I SET AN APPOINTMENT WITH THE MEMBER TO COME OUT ON 11/28/08. I WENT BY FOR THAT APPOINTMENT AND VISITED WITH THE MEMBER. I REVIEWED EVERYTHING WITH HIM AND ASKED HIM TO TALK WITH HIS WIFE AS TO WHEN WE MIGHT COME OUT AND WRAP UP THE THINGS THAT HE WANTED DONE. HE TOLD ME HE WAS RECOVERED FROM HIS SURGERY AND WOULD BE GOING BACK TO WORK SO IT WOULD HAVE TO BE AFTER 5 OR ON WEEKENDS. THE ITEMS HE SHOWED ME INCLUDED SOME CERAMIC SHELVES IN THE SHOWER THAT WERE NOT TOTALLY DRAINING, A CRACK ABOVE THE BATHROOM ENTRY DOOR, GROUT CHANGING COLOR WHEN IT GOT WET, AND SOME CAULKING WHERE THE TILE MET THE WALL (THAT COULD ONLY BE SEEN IN THE REFLECTION OF THE MIRROR BECAUSE OF THE SMALL BATHROOM). I CALLED THE MEMBER ON 12/1/08 TO SET A TIME (AT THEIR CONVENIENCE)TO COME OUT AND FIX THE PROBLEMS HE WANTED US TO ADDRESS. HE TOLD ME THAT HE AND HIS WIFE DECIDED TO DO IT THEMSELVES AND THAT IT WOULD BE TOO INCONVENIENT FOR US TO COME BACK AND DO THE REPAIRS. I TOLD HIM THAT WE WOULD TAKE CARE OF IT AND THAT IT WOULD BE TWO EVENINGS OR A SATURDAY. I MENTIONED THAT THE WORK WOULD HAVE TO BE DONE IN THE EVENING OR ON A WEEKEND WHETHER WE DID IT OR HE DID IT. HE AND HIS WIFE HAD MADE UP THEIR MINDS ALREADY AND SO I TOLD HIM TO CALL ME IF HE CHANGED HIS MIND. WE GIVE A ONE YEAR GUARANTEE ON OUR LABOR AND WERE MORE THAN WILLING TO COME AND ADDRESS ANY OF THE MINOR REPAIRS THAT WERE NEEDED TO MAKE THEM HAPPY. THE MAIN PROBLEM FROM MY PERSPECTIVE WAS THAT OUR CRAFTSMAN'S UPS SCHEDULE CHANGED DURING THIS JOB SO HE WAS NOT ABLE TO START AS EARLY AS HE NORMALLY WOULD HAVE. ALSO, THE JOB TOOK HIM LONGER THAN HE ANTICIPATED WHICH MADE HIM THERE WORKING LATER IN THE EVENING. WE DID THE JOB FOR THE AGREED UPON PRICE EVEN THOUGH IT DID TAKE MORE TIME THAN EXPECTED. THE CUSTOMER PROVIDED THE MATERIALS. MY CRAFTSMAN TOLD ME THAT SOME OF THE DELAYS WERE DUE TO THE MATERIALS NOT BEING AVAILABLE WHEN THEY WERE NEEDED. THE GROUT SEALER THE CUSTOMER PROVIDED WAS NOT A FAMILIAR PRODUCT TO US, AND NOT WHAT WE WOULD NORMALLY HAVE USED. WE APPLIED THE PROVIDED SEALER AS SPECIFIED BY THE DIRECTIONS, BUT HAVE NO EXPERIENCE WITH IT TO KNOW HOW WELL IT WOULD PERFORM. OUR CRAFTSMAN TOLD ME THERE WERE ALSO DISCUSSIONS BETWEEN HIM AND THE MEMBER WHERE THE MEMBER INDICATED HE WOULD FIX THE DOOR CRACK HIMSELF AND PAINT HIMSELF. WE DO THOUSANDS OF JOBS A YEAR FOR OUR CUSTOMERS AND HAVE A VERY GOOD RECORD WITH ANGIE'S LIST AS WELL AS THE BBB. EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE WE HAVE A SITUATION ARISE THAT WE ADDRESS AS PROFESSIONALLY AND COURTEOUSLY AS POSSIBLE.
