I worked with Lonnie and Jack. They were both friendly, easy to work with and did a great job. I'm sure that your experience with Andy on Call depends on who gets assigned to your job, but I would request Lonnie and Jack again for my next project!

Andy on Call sent out Drew the same day I called, and he completed the repair the same day as well. Drew was very personable and did a great job on the fence. He put back 3 panels and did general repair on the rest of the fence that was damaged in the windstorm from several weeks ago. He is highly recommended!

Andy On Call (Mike Sabo) is professional, except for actually inspecting the work completed. Don't know if he has his own crew, but our guy was a sub-contractor. He took almost 3 weeks past his promised completion date, and never did fix minor flaws that needed correction. Overall quality of the work was OK, but delay after delay. When asked to make corrections, attitude was quite unprofessional. Returnable materials were missing at the end of the job. As an admitted infrequent user of contract painters/handymen, I would have to call this an overall poor experience.
Description of Work: Repainted interior of 2 bdrm condo. Did some repairs, not particularly well. Installed 1 sink. Painted cabinets. Installed linoleum.

This job did take longer than anticipated. In defense of our workers, they had to follow a previous contractor that [member name removed] had hired that had done very sloppy work. We bid by the job so in an effort to do a good job, we had to eat alot of time cleaning up behind the oversprayed texture on all the trim as well as hunting down parts to existing fixtures that were scattered around the vacant property. We did not raise our price for this additional work that was not a part of our original bid. This delay did push us into other work that we had scheduled and could not reschedule. I made (2) trips to the job site to see the progrss and check on the work. We followed up and responded to a punch list requested by [member name removed]. There was some damage done to some walls and trim by some carpet installers after we were done, that we did not feel responsible to take care of, since the carpet installers did that damage after we were finished. I did try to handle the job in a professional manor even after finding out that [member name removed] had (wittingly or un wittingly) made a deal with my Craftsman for painting the ceilings and had written an $850.00 check made out directly to my Craftsman, rather than to our company, for this additional work. This job was frustrating for both [member name removed] as well as our company but we did try to take care of our agreed to obligations as professionally as possible. Mike Sabo Owner - Andy OnCall

I needed an old, dilapidated bathroom vanity removed which would require dropping the plumbing turn-off stops and rerouting the drain pipe to accommodate drawers on the new model and setting the new faucet. The craftsman set the appointment and then postponed at the last minute and rescheduled for one week later. I arranged to have an expedited delivery of the new vanity to arrive the evening before the morning he was to start work at 9:00AM. I cleaned out that whole end of the house, moved furniture, and arranged to take all my pets to the veterinary clinic for day boarding. On my way back home from the vet to meet Lonnie Stevens, the craftsman, his office called THIRTY MINUTES before he was to arrive and start work. It seems that the job he was working on this week was very involved and he would need to reschedule for the same time next Thursday. These people KNEW that they would not be able to start the job at the least, the nite before. A courtesy call was warranted AS SOON AS it was obvious they would not make the date. Unfortunately, when the new vanity was delivered, I had no place to store it inside my house. There was a drenching rain today and the box became soaked. Upon opening the box, there was standing water in it and the vanity was all wet. $365.00 for the vanity down the drain!! And the price FOR LABOR ONLY was not competitive now that I have gotten other bids for the job. DO NOT USE ANDY ON CALL OF TULSA.
Description of Work: Provided estimate, made two appointments to do the work, and called 30 minutes prior to appointment time to post-pone.

This customer has a valid complaint against us. Our Craftsman should have called as soon as he knew that he would not be able to honor the start date that he had set with [member name removed], unfortunately, it was the morning he was supposed to come when he realized his schedule problem and called. As soon as I heard about this situation, I called immediately and offered [member name removed] a 20% labor discount on her job for this inconvenience. In the course of our conversation, I recognized that she had already made up her mind not to use our company. I believe she said that "we had shown our true colors" and that she would not be using our company. She also told me that she was an Angie's List member and that she would be sure to post her experience giving us a failing grade. I truly wish that every job that we did went as perfectly as planned but sometimes they do not. I've learned that as long as there are people involved in the process, there is potential for a glitch to happen. It's how we chose to respond to those situations that impacts the final outcome. With [member name removed], we had one chance and we blew it. Although it is unfortunate that [member name removed] vanity may have sustained damaged, she was responsible for where it was placed and left upon delivery, not our company. I understand that our Craftsman not calling sooner reflects poor job management and turned out to be very inconvenient for [member name removed]. However, we had no way of knowing that she decided to pay a fee to expidite delivery of the vanity or that she had decided to board her pets when we would be there working. Respectfully, Mike Sabo - Owner

They installed the ceiling fan and were supposed to set it up on 3 switches int he living room. They didn't have the switch the first time. The ceiling fan in the bedroom works fine. However he didn't set up the switches properly on the living room fan. They cut the switch on the china cabinet to fix it. They cut the cord the cord in half, twisted the wires together and then taped the wires because they didn't have the switch. I called them a year later to have them put back the switches. When they came in he didn't have the correct ladder and I offered my ladder as well, but it wasn't able to work. He told me that he had just gotten back from China from getting married. He ended up having to use the neighbors 8 ft ladder and while bringing it in he banged the ladder against things. He said that he had corrected the issue and I explained that I wanted to check and make sure that everything was working properly and it wasn't, so he had to go back and get the ladder again and was able to get it all fixed correctly. He then started working on the china cabinet switch and it took him 20 mins and he still wasn't able to get it fixed. I advised, just don't worry about it since he can't get it fixed. I noticed that he was going to charge me for the work that he had to come in and corrected. I explained that I felt $75.00 was a little high and advised that I would pay less. He then got really mad and pulled the bill out of my hand, tore it up in pieces and through it back at me and slammed the door shut. The other company that was there giving me an estimate for insulation apologized for that workers behavior and I decided that I would call the workers boss. The other company stated that he would verify what happened. I contacted the boss and the boss said that it didn't sound like the worker and I haven't heard back from him for a week.
Description of Work: They installed a ceiling fan for me last year and also remote control for another ceiling fan in the living room, and I called them back to disconnect the remote and fix my china cabinet switch.

I spoke to [member name removed] right after this incident happened. I agreed with her that our Craftsman's behavior was uncalled for and I apologized to her for the incident. I tried to reach the other service provider the remainder of that day but his mailbox was full (so I could not leave a message) and he never answered his phone when I called that day. I had no reason to doubt [member name removed], so I did not pursue him any further. When I spoke to my Craftsman about this, he said he did over react and he new he had blown it in a big way and he felt terrible after the fact. He did not share with me any details other than he was under some stress personally and that he should not have let this affect him professionally as it did. I related my sincere apology to [member name removed] for this experience and we parted on cordial terms from our phone conversation. Mike Sabo - Owner

It went great. The new fan installation and the new glides for the kitchen drawers were not easy tasks to preform. The gentleman sent out by Andy on Call was very professional and calm about the setbacks. He did a great job. He arrived on time and worked the entire time. The only time he left was to get additional parts what weren't originally anticipated. We'll definitely use Andy on Call again for future projects.
Description of Work: We had two ceiling fans installed. One was just a replacement so it was pretty simple. The other was a new installment in a bedroom that required going in the attic for reinforcment plus we wanted the light and fan to be on wall switches rather than having to pull chains. Then we had our kitchen drawers glides changed from center glides that weren't too stable to side glides. This project turned out to be much more labor intensive because notches had to be made to make room for the side slides.

The guy was really nice and everything, but I did feel like the work could have been better. He had to go up in the attic of the garage to install it. He didn't use screws to install it. They were timely. They showed up when they were supposed to. It was not a big job, but I had them do it. Their prices were about there where everybody else was, but they worked like a super competitive dealer. In the future, may be I would shop around more if I had more time because again I do not think their price was just that outstanding, I thought it was kind of expensive for what I had them do.

Mike Sabo promptly returned my initial inquiry call. Did not pressure me and answered all my (inane) questions professionally and courteously. Assigned an employee to give an estimate and that employee gave the same excellent service. Our front entry door woodwork was weather beaten and faded and barn swallows loved to build nests near the ceiling. When the work was completed everything was spotless and you could practically see your reflection in the wood! It is not an exaggeration to say that the entry looked better than new! Start of the work was delayed due to rain but (even though even I know you can't paint in the rain) the employee extended the courtesy of calling to say he could not do the work as planned that day. Based on this experience I would not hesitate to again use ANDY ON CALL!
Description of Work: All the wood on the outside front entry door, transom and side panels was refinished. Cleaned all the barn swallow nest dirt from off the bricks and ceiling and the entire entry. Did an excellent job of maintaining the original wood color on the door, transom and side panels. There was NOTHING left to clean up after the worker left!

Very well. The repairman came up with the novel idea to fix it so it would do what it was supposed to do and screened it so that uninvited guests could no longer get in that way.
Description of Work: Repaired the heat/AC vent on the rear of the house. It was falling apart and needed to be fixed for a number of reasons.
First and foremost, I would use the company again -- if they could send a different worker. My worker did not show up as originally scheduled. When I called the company, they could not locate where my work was scheduled and they said I should expect a call from my worker. When he called he told me that he had gotten ill from a tooth problem and had to go to the dentist. Never-the-less, I should have received a phone call to reschedule. When he got to the house to complete the work, everything was fine. I particularly appreciated his attention to detail regarding the caulking and he was very particular about the clean-up involved with the total job. However, it wasn't until he left that I noticed he had not removed a birds nest from the guttering near my front door. I did contact the company and they were willing to send him back out. I declined, and also told them I would be happy to try them again when I needed something done, but I didn't want him to come back. One thing worth mentioning, a company representative called (I was not home) and left a message to see how everything went within 24 hours of the work being done. I thought that showed they do believe in customer service. Consequently, I will try them again.
Description of Work: The work needed was: replace a window screen, trade out light switch, clean house guttering, replace caulking on selected windows outside.

Lonnie and his workers were very professional. They made sure that each task they performed was done well and met my approval. The work took a little longer than anticipated, but that was because the wood rot was worse than originally thought. They did a beautiful job of reconstructing the wood structures that couldn't be saved and repaired.
Description of Work: I had quite a bit of wood rot on my garage doors, decorative trim and window panes of my house. The work provided included replacing the bottom panel of both garage doors; this included constructing a panel to match the other two panels, constructing new decorative shutters for the front window, painting all exterrior stucco and wood trim, replacing rotted wood frames for 4 rather large windows, painting one interrior room and a large hallway, replacing a cracked tile, repairing and painting baseboards in 4 rooms and a large hallway.
They are really diverse in their work abilities. I have hired them for electricial switches, ceiling fans, rebuilding of my cabinets, and even to put a door in my crawlspace. I am happy with their services. I think sometimes they are a little high in price, but I know that I can trust them.

Over the weekend we found termites had eaten the wood around our exterior door in the garage. On Monday I called Andy's OnCall for an estimate on installing a new door. Tuesday they came out and gave us a quote and said someone would come out tomorrow and install the door. The carpenter arrived at 7:30 which was the agreed upon time. He had all the materials and tools needed to do the job and completed the job in good timing. Upon completion of the job we received a call from Andy's OnCall to check on the progress. I would highly recommend this company and will use them again when I have a need.
