Irrigation system never worked properly; drains never worked properly; employee belligerent and condescending. Unresponsive

Carl came out 5/23/13. He seemed very knowledgeable and I thought, professional. Don't know if our job was too small or what. We discussed several projects for the backyard and he was going to get back to us with estimates (mole control, sod, landscaping and explansion of the patio) so that we could work our way through the projects this summer. We had planned to do some of this last summer but we had to delay until this summer. When I'd heard nothing I called 6/5/13. When I spoke with Jennifer she said Carl was on vacation and she would check to see if anyone else knew anything about our estimates. Talked to her again on 6/6/13 and she said no one else knew anything but she would call it to Carl's attention as soon as he returned on Monday. Its now two months since I talked to Jennifer. Still haven't heard anything. I have new estimates and am proceeding forward with another company now.

The technicians showed up on time and provided an accurate estimate. They adjusted or replaced the necessary sprinkler heads efficiently and professionally. We had to have them return twice, not entirely due to their fault, with no extra charge. We had called them this time because we were pleased with work they had previously done for us that involved digging up and replacing a leaking pipe in the sprinkler system.

Tim and his partner, of American Services, were always extremely courteous and professional, and did fine work. They always showed up on time, as previously arranged. We were always billed for the same amounts as the original estimates. We just wish that all companies were this client-oriented, professional, and courteous, and did such great work.

After sending the check, I didnt hear from them, nor did I ever get a door hanger from them indicating they had checked my Sentricon system. After the first 90 days I called and could not reach anyone, but was told Kevin was the person to talk to and so I left a message. I did not hear from Kevin. I let some more time go by (a few weeks), then decided to call again. I again was told Kevin was the person to talk to and I left another message. I did not receive a callback from Kevin. Since it was wintertime, I let a few months go by. In the spring, however, I heard some other people in my area had had some problems with American, too. So, I called again and asked to talk to someone other than Kevin. I was transferred to Kevins line by a very curt woman who answered the phone. Kevin did not answer right away, so I hung up and called back and asked to talk to a supervisor or someone other than Kevin as Kevin was unresponsive to me when I left messages for him previously. I was transferred to Kevin anyway. Kevin answered and so I told him my problem and my dissatisfaction. He assured me always returns phone calls. I told him I hadnt received any calls from him and I would just like my money back. He asked me to wait a minute and then came back on the line and told me they would give me credit for the time up until then and they would like to keep my as a customer or I could just have my money back. I opted to take my money back and find another provider.
