Was having solar panels moved to the other side of the roof, so needed either patching, or reroofing. Decided to reroof because the old roof was 16 years old, and although it was still in good shape, I will probably be moving in a few years, and didn't want a potential buyer to tell me I needed to reroof at that time. Got two estimates, which were very close in scope and price. This was for removal of old shingles, about 18.5 squares of new architectural style Tamko roof shingles, with 15lbs felt, and flashing etc on roof vents and chimney. Went with Metalsbetter because of my previous good experience with them when I lost some shingles in a storm. I used an Angie's List coupon, which reduced the price by $250, so really felt I got a good deal. The work was done on time as scheduled, and the crew did a thorough clean-up when they were through. Pat Fryer, the owner, is very pleasant, and easy to work with. Sorry it's taken me so long to write a review - I thought I had already done it, so was surprised when I was asked to do so!

It went very well. They were prompt, courteous, and very responsive with pricing and did an excellent job on installation. I chose their pricing and personnel.

Estimate was lower than the others, but not the criteria used for assigning them the job. They were the last estimator, but also noticed other work needed, in addition to the other work needed, the other 2 estimators had brought to my attention. They included this work for free, so greed was not a factor. The job when finished looked great. Front shingled area matched perfectly with surrounding roof. Job took a little less than a day, and they left behind no mess whatsoever, for me to clean up, and there was no plant damage either. Extra work was performed in addition to all concerns listed in the estimate, yet was done gratus. My wife was away on business during job, and was well pleased when she returned. The workers were pleasant & not disruptive to the nieghborhood with yelling or cussing, and none appeared to be under the influence, as both have been the case with other work crews in the area. Best home repair work experience ever, and I would not hesitate to enthusiastically refer them to anyone needing either metal or shingle roofing, as they did both for me with most pleasing results.

During last night's tremendous windstorm, I lost at least 8 shingles. I called Metals Better Roofing at 7.30am in a panic, as I planned to leave the next day to Texas for Chrismas, and couldn't leave without getting the roof fixed. I talked to Pat Fryer, and at his suggestion, took a picture of the damage and emailed it to him, and told him what type of shingles I had. He called back after getting the photo, and said he could have a crew out by noon. They arrived at 11.45am and got to work immediately (it was still very cold, and very windy). They were done in about an hour, picked up all their mess, and said I would be billed (I was expecting to have to pay right then) I have definitely had my Christmas Miracle!! I would recommend these people to anyone - I can't tell you how appreciative I am that they were able to do this for me right before Christmas. I just received the bill by email, and it was much less than I expected it would be. I had not got an estimate from Pat as I had to have the work done no matter what, and I'd read MetalsBetter reviews on Angie's list, so knew I could trust them.

I could not be happier with the work done by this company. I had obtained quotations from six other companies, all that did their best to steer me away from the roof I wanted to a product they wanted to sell or provided an over priced estimate. My house is an older home, built in the early 20s, and has an unusual pitch change towards the bottom edge of the roof. Pat and Bill made every effort to listen to what I wanted, tell me what they could do to accomplish that, and offer suggestions as to how to achieve the best outcome. They designed a solution to fit the shape of my roof and made it a reality. Out of all the companies that I received quotes from, they were the only ones that I never doubted anything they told me. They and their crew worked to complete the job in a timely manner, were conscientious and professional the entire time they were working on my property. A great company to do business with.

I am very pleased with the professionalism and quality of the work performed by Metals Better Roofing. Our phone calls were always returned in a timely manner. They showed up when expected. The crew was friendly and polite. The work was completed on schedule. When the job was finished they cleaned up all the debris leaving my yard just as they found it. I would highly recommend this company to anyone who is looking to have a metal roof installed. The overall experience was outstanding and I love my new metal roof!

I received an estimate from Pat back in June before I was an Angie's List Member. I was impressed with his professionalism but was still looking at other options and was not ready to commit to putting a new roof on. I recently joined Angie's List and I re-contacted Pat to see if he would give me the Angie's List discount on the estimate even though I wasn't a member at the time of the original estimate. He quickly replied that he would honor the discount and would even take the discount off the original estimate even though prices on material had gone up. I signed my contract and selected the color of my new Metal Roof and was informed by Pat he would be able to install the new roof the next week. As the next week was Thanksgiving I asked was he sure and he said that they could install on Wed so that it would be completed by Thanksgiving. His crew arrived early Wednesday morning and went immediately to work installing the new roof. They completed the work around 7pm and spent the next hour cleaning up. As it was dark when they left I figured that I would find trash left behind but the next morning I walked around and didn't find anything out of place, no trash or nails to be found. I am very pleased with my new roof and when it comes time to replace the roofs on my shop and barn I will definitely have Pat and his crew from Metals Better out to do them!! Thanks for a job well done!

Their estimate was for $20000. I am not sure if they would be doing the work or not as I am still looking at the other options. I think that their price was in the ballpark with everybody else. Their responsiveness was good.

Flat metal roof was damaged from the February snow build up. The company came out and removed the snow on the same day I called in February. They followed up with insurance adjuster and me with estimates on replacing the roof and did an excellent job during the replacement. This company is the best construction company I have ever done business with. They were on time, got the job done exactly as the approved estimate and gave me daily updates on the status of the job. Other than weather delaying the progress, the job was done very quickly.

After the extensive snow accumulations of early February, the ceiling of an industrial office building was hanging low and leaking inside. Pat met me the morning I called and gave me an estimate for the snow removal. He got a crew of 5 working to remove the snow withing an hour of my approval of price and had the roof cleared of snow within 5 hours. The roof sustained damage from the buildup and his company is in the process of giving an estimate for replacement and/or repair now.

I started by looking on Angie's list for roofers and called or emailed the top rated ones for quotes. I received 2 quotes and 1 call back. We considered adding a new steel roof over the existing shingles, so I contacted several more that specialized in metal roofs. Pat Fryer from Metalsbetter Roofing called back and we discussed the pros and cons of metal or shingles. He answered many questions by email, gave me references to call, and gave us a quote that was several thousand dollars lower than the others. He gave me his cell phone number, communicated every step of the way about delivery of materials, start date, etc, and LISTENED to my questions and concerns as well. It was blazing hot here the days they roofed so they took many breaks, but worked 12+ hours for 2 days to finish. Pat discussed what they found under the old roof and worked diligently to repair it efficiently. They put tarps down to catch the old shingles, cleaned up everything very well, and even painted the old vents on the roof to match. Best of all, he did not require payment until the job was completed. I have never had a better experience with a contractor, and the roof looks great!
