D & E CUSTOM CURB LLC

I needed to either replace my back patio or have a deck built instead. I hunted down contractors for both options and had 3 bids for each option from top rated Angie's List providers. During my search I wasn't looking for the comments about how nice the contractor was, etc. As one contractor told me, con men are the most charming people. I wanted to know how well the job was done. I also looked at how long the contractor had been in business and what the reviews were like over time. So I appreciated the comments from reviewers related to punctuality, responsiveness, professionalism, and quality of work. I began looking for contractors in early August, hoping to get the work done before school started. I was able to get all the contractor's bids within 2 weeks, however due to the excessively wet spring and summer everyone was quite backlogged on scheduled jobs. I chose D&E based on my contact with Duane's wife, who provided me with estimates for several options after we discussed my needs and she examined the work areas, along with the online reviews. D&E did not have the lowest estimate nor the highest. However I felt that the company focus was on what I wanted and needed, not on what they wanted to do. Some contractors were clearly just hurrying through the process, asking few questions about my needs or preferences. The company was booked until the end of September, so I scheduled them to come during my fall break so I wouldn't miss work days. I also decided to expand the job to include the pad under my heat pump, my front porch, and a piece of sidewalk that had deteriorated. Duane and his crew came on time the first day. Duane reviewed what I wanted to have done and his crew got to work on the demo. In order to replace the entire front porch slab he would have to remove the 3 posts supporting the porch roof, and doing so would damage the siding on the beam above 2 of the posts. So we reassessed how to accomplish the job and I opted to leave half the porch slab in place as it had little damage, and that avoided the 2 problem posts. Duane suggested an excellent alternative that replaced the first landing down my front steps, which was an inch lower than the porch slab and very discolored. His alternative eliminated the 1" drop that someone could trip over, and made the steps much more attractive. It was also $500 less expensive. I appreciated Duane's consideration of alternatives and determination to make the result meet my expectations. The job took 2 days, one for demo and placement of the forms, and the second for pouring the concrete. The crew was hard-working and courteous. They cleaned up well after the job was completed. The concrete dried over the weekend and Duane returned on Monday to replace iron railings, remove the wood forms, etc. The 4 areas they did all look very nice. It's not a fancy job with stamping and staining (which they can do) because I'm selling the house and we agreed the extra cost would not be recouped in the sale. However Duane was very meticulous in brushing the surface to provide an attractive finish. I'm very satisfied with the job and wouldn't hesitate to recommend D&E to anyone looking for any kind of concrete work. I only hope the rest of the contractors I hire for the remaining renovations are as ethical and professional as Duane and his crew.

D & E was great to work with. Dwayne went above and beyond to make sure everything was done right. It is very obvious they care about customer service and making sure the customer is happy with everything being done. They are honest and very helpful on the decisions that need to be made. Will tell everyone about D & E!

There aren't enough good things I can say about D&E. A couple years ago they came out and poured a concrete slab for our shed. I was pleased with the work they had performed then so I had them come out and do our driveway extension and curbing for several flower beds. Again, I wasn't disappointed. They came out quickly to provide a quote and listened to all my concerns. Our driveway is slopped so that the roof run-off drains along the width of the driveway into the side yard. It was key the driveway was poured correctly to prevent pooling in the middle of the drive. They did an excellent job! The drive drains perfectly and much better than before the extension. The flower bed curbing is beautiful as well and I love it so much. D&E definitely goes out of their way to make you happy by going above and beyond and at a very reasonable price to boot.

They were wonderful and I would give them A's all around. I spent about $300. They came out quickly, they were very cautious and aware of the weather, they provided a quick estimate and got the job done.

They did great and I got them from Angie's List. They came when they said that they would and they did not overbook. They also did everything according to the schedule. I would definitely use them again in the future.

It was great. It was really nice. They put together a pretty curb. They did a good job and they were punctual. They seemed to care that I was happy. I had to call them twice.

We made a huge mistake and used a and quot;cheapand quot; concrete company 5 years ago. We decided to fix it this year. If you want concrete done at your house, DO NOT use anyone else. They are fabulous. I mean really, really good!!!! Can you find someone cheaper? yes...can you find someone better? NO!!! They are knowledgeable, nice and they have made my house look amazing. They're busy (b/c they are good), so be patient and you will be as happy as we are.

They got a bunch of good marks but this guy must be very, very busy. He was great, he was just horrendously busy. He is hard to get in touch with. He got a lot of good marks on Angie's List and I would probably use him if I could get in touch with him. He is a very nice guy. He's higher military and my husband is military. I would give him an A on everything.

They were very quick to respond to my call. Very honest and hard working.

They were excellent. They did it quickly and they were very professional and efficient at what they did and the driveway looks great. They were great, I was so lucky to get those people.

He did an excellent job, and his quality of work was very good. He was very punctual, and he had good prices. I paid about $1000 for the curbing work. He is a nice guy all around. I would rate him highly and would use him again in the future if necessary.

Dand E quoted and charged the lowest price compared to other concrete companies. They were very responsive and did a good job overall. The only issue was that they accidentally ran into our gate with their bull dozer, but they did replace the wood. Also, it took them a few days to come back and clean up after the concrete set. Our friends also used Dand E for expansion of and staining of their back yard patio, and it looks great.

Our front porch and sidewalk areas were covered with thin red paver bricks which, over the years, had become broken, cracked and in disrepair. On the back side of our house we had previously removed a brick planter, under which there was some unsightly concrete. We first met Dand E Custom Curb owner operator Duane Johnson at the 2009 Oklahoma City Home and Garden Show. We subsequently requested them to bid the job. We accepted his bid and he and his crew removed our concrete front porch, sidewalk areas. They also removed the concrete beneath an old wooden deck in the rear of our home which we were also replacing. They then replaced these areas with stamped concrete which was stained based on the color that we chose. Duane was very easy to work with and he and his crew worked very hard to make sure we were completely satisfied.
