Description of Work: Ground zero installed a storm shelter in our garage. From start to finish this was a trouble free experience. Most appreciated that the office makes sure you have the proper permits in place before installment since finding out many companies never even mention that a permit is needed. The installers were very professional and prompt and cleaned all dirt and debris from the process from our garage and drive way. Would highly recommend to friends and family.

Description of Work: I got a custom above ground storm room. Was very satisfied with ordering/happy with the guys that installed. Reason I gave a B was that I custom ordered for door to be on the end. The way that the person drew it (and first delivery) it was on the side. Had issues on them recognizing it was their error (my drawings had on end and their drawings didn't have it posted). But they did fix it and got a corrected one out quickly. Just recommend that if you do custom, make sure that everyone is on the same page.

Description of Work: Installed an above ground storm shelter in our garage. We visited with several companies and felt they had the best product for us. They were also firm about everything they said, no different information each time you visited with them.

Description of Work: Ground Zero installed an 84" x 36" x 54" underground storm shelter in the garage. | |The Ground Zero office staff was knowledgeable, polite, and professional when I called to ask questions when I was comparing companies and trying to make a decision. Ground Zero did not require any down payment. The entire payment is made after they complete the installation. | |The level of satisfaction one has with the Ground Zero installation depends a lot on the installation crew that shows up. The leader of the crew I got was in a hurry and acted like he wanted to leave as soon as he got here. He got contentious when I asked him to show me exactly where he was going to put the shelter, and was argumentative when I wanted to move it over a few inches. He told me I wouldn't be able to get two cars in the garage where I wanted the shelter (although the tire marks from both my vehicles were clearly visible) and that driving on top of it would void the warranty (although he never told me what the warranty was). | |The cut in the concrete was not very clean in several places and the finish of the poured concrete was not very smooth. My garage was left flooded with water, and they used my water to wash the Ground Zero truck. I could not move the lid of the shelter from outside the shelter when it was completely closed unless I kicked it with all my might. So I knew I would never get in it and completely close the lid because I was terrified of being stuck inside it. | |I'm very happy I stood my ground on the shelter location, because if I had not had him move it from his original location, I would have knocked my car mirror on the frame of the garage trying to straddle the shelter. I still have room to drive both my car and my pickup into the garage and straddle the shelter. I later called the very polite and professional Ground Zero office staff who told me that the shelter had a lifetime warranty and driving on top of it would not void the warranty. | |Last week my next-door neighbor had a Ground Zero shelter installed in the garage, so I went over and watched the installation and chatted with the installation crew about how difficult it was to open the lid of my shelter. They were very friendly, helpful, and came over and fixed the lid of my shelter. Now it rolls easily with the touch of a finger. | |All that said, I would recommend Ground Zero. They have a lot of installation crews and I think I was just unlucky and got the worst one. Fortunately, an excellent crew was willing to come over and do what the original crew should have done.

Description of Work: Installed a 4' x 6' above ground safe room/tornado shelter in my garage. The contract and arrangements were very conveniently handled via email and fax. The 2 installers arrived and in just over 2 hours they had completed their task and were off to the next job. I would recommend this company to anyone seeking a shelter for their home.

Description of Work: Installed a large in-floor shelter in our garage. Great experience dealing with Ground Zero from sales all the way through installation and follow-up. | |Not a problem, but buyers should note that Ground Zero starts install 6:30-7:00am or at Noon daily. We picked the early slot (and would again).. The installer was in front of the house at 6:15am with the track-hoe, etc. If your neighbors will object to noise early in the AM, you might want to choose the later install time. | |Ground Zero tells you to clean out 75% of your garage, with everything out of the side where the shelter is installed. Make sure to do that. I would highly recommend tarping everything left in the garage, as there is a good amount of concrete dust from cutting your garage floor. | |Ground Zero is one of two providers that I could find that used concrete from a concrete truck (vs. dumping dry bags of concrete in the hole). I've got to believe this is a better way of installing. | |The crew was very personable, and did a great job of installing and cleaning up.

Description of Work: Installed the wrong shelter. We contracted for a 7'x5', they installed a 7'x3'. Then they tried to get us to pay full price for the shelter that wasn't even the one we wanted. Took several weeks to negotiate it down to what I still think is higher than a fair price considering that we had chosen not to buy that shelter. | |Also, they hit and broke a water pipe during the installation. | |For what it is worth, the installation crew showed up on time and acted professionally while they were here, but I would still not use Ground Zero again nor recommend them.
