When Dorman and I discussed my project for the first several times it seemed like Dorman fully understood what I wanted, which was a simple concrete 20 x 20 slab with a non-slip finish (regular concrete color). There was a short waiting time, but not too long. When Dorman came by our house the last few times before starting the job (and when he called me) he was telling my husband and myself about the concrete "staining & stamping" that he does to beautify concrete slabs. It sounded really nice, but it wasn't what I really wanted. I would listen to him & then tell him I would think about it & let him know. This went on for several (2-4) times that we talked & I just wasn't convinced that the staining & stamping was what I wanted. At the very last, Dorman even brought some samples of the stamping molds & pictures of the previous jobs he had completed that were stained & stamped. I was just not convinced that it was what I wanted. In another attempt to convince me, he gave me addresses of other jobs that he had just completed. I went to look at them & they were beautiful....but, again, I just did not feel that it was what I wanted. On the day of the start of the job I finally agreed to do the staining & stamping because, well, because he wouldn't accept "no", no matter how much I wanted a "just regular concrete slab" and no more. With all the pressure he put on me to get the staining & stamping, I agreed to it with much reservation and reluctance. Once it my patio slab was completed (with staining & stamping) it just wasn't "curing"/drying right. There would be small white spots all over....so he would re-do the finishing/top coat....then there would be more white spots & bubbles...so he would re-do the finishing/top coat, etc. This went on for several months with it just not "drying" right. Dorman and I agreed that we would wait out the winter & see how it looks in the spring. He said if it didn't look right then, he would come by and re-finish/re-stain it again. Dorman repeatedly told me that "look, I'm right here in this area", "this is not the kind of work I do & I take pride in my work so I am Not going to abandon you, or to "hide" from you if there are further problems", "I'm not going to hide from or ignore you", "I am not happy with these results & do not want to be known for this kind of results", etc., etc., etc. So I was agreeable to wait until spring to see how my patio would end up. Come spring, it is worse than ever. The color has come off in large areas....the concrete has cracked...it looks ugly! So, since Dorman said he wouldn't hide from or ignore me, I called him about mid-April. He would only talk to me by text for a few weeks promising he would come by, but would never make it. As of a couple months ago, to date, he has stopped communicating with me at all....no response....lots of "hiding"....lots of "ignoring"! I am so disappointed in Dorman....I really thought he was one of the "good guys"! BEWARE to anyone hiring him to do a good job!

He was very prompt. If he says he's going to do something, he doesn't forget. He is very detail oriented and kept us up to date on what what going on, and what to expect. We found, after he left, where the concrete truck dumped and cleaned his truck out in our pasture. One call to Dorman, and he cleaned it up. Said it should have been done at the job time, and apologized for the inconvenience. His crew are all very polite, and professional. I will definitely keep his name in my "call back" list!
