Arrived on agreed time. performed repairs promptly. Upon completion, performed an overall visual inspection of roof. Upon payment, told my wife that he didn't see any issues and reassured her that the couple of visible (from the ground) anomalies were to be expected on a roof of this age and posed no problems now or in the near future (if you are from N. E. OK, you know roofs take a beating). my wife commented that he was very professional. Britton was recommended by a local independent home builder who has used Britton for a number of new home roofing projects. I could not be happier with the service provided. in looking a the BBB site, I noticed that Britton has an A+ rating with no complaints. Appears that he has been in business for 20+ years, with over 10 years in the Owasso area. He is fully licensed and insured.

While the roofing crew was doing the back side of the house, I happened to walk outside and look at the job being done. I noticed one of the workers laying shingles down on bare wood. On the front side of the house they had rolled out a sort tar paper like underlayer, before they shingled. But it was not being done on the rear. Since I could not speak to anyone, as I don't speak any Spanish and none of the workers spoke a word of English, I called Britton and they adamantly told me I was wrong. That could never happen. I did notice however, that a few minutes later after several cell phone conversations, they started pulling several rows of shingles off the back roof, and layed the tar paper stuff down. I have no way of knowing if they pulled all the rows needed, or just went up a few? I figured I had a good warranty and it wouldn't matter. They assured me if I had any problems ever they would be more than happy to come out and take care of them! They were a local business and would be around for years to come. Well they are still around, and they did come out when I had a problem with wood rotting on the rear entry and the Front Patio. Unfortunately, their word, their work, and their promises are worthless!
Description of Work: Roofed our home in 2008, though our homeowners hail damage claim contacted them in July 2013 about some problems we found where the roof had been leaking between the exterior siding and the interior wall. We had a door leaking that we had replaced. The contractor had to remove the siding all the way up to the roofline and replace the siding and some of the studs. He said the roof was not flashed correctly and the guttering was not re-attached correctly after the roofing job. Britton Roofing said there was no way we could prove it was their fault. The job was out of warranty, and it wasn't their problem.

Response from Britton Roofing
[member name removed], I am sorry that this situation has occurred. If we would have been contacted in a timely manor, sooner than 5 years after the work about a roof leak, any and all issues would have been addressed. We do a post work walk threw before we receive payment, if underlayment or gutter problems would have been brought to our attention we would have address any problem then and there. When I came out, less than 12 hours after I was contacted, to see the problems that you thought were from faulty roof flashing, the areas had already been removed to the point where I was not able to see the damage on the roof. The damage that was present was behind siding and no roof slope above, if water was leaking from the flashing it would not have traveled 8-10 to the south. We do not remove guttering when we install a replacement roof, the gutter is attached to the facia so there is no need. Your gutter was one of the causes to your problem since you only had one down spout to drain the water from 2/3's of your roof this was also the case on the front of your house which will allow water to back up and flow under the roof line. The other cause of water penetration was from paint and caulking that had shrunk over time which allowed gaps in the siding and trim boards which allows water to get behind the siding. Both issues I discussed with your contractor and he agreed with my assessment. I wish we could have come to a better resolution to this issue, the quality of our work is why we have been in business since 1991.
