TruGreen Lawn Care - 5455

Well Tech Derrick Scharabok came and seen how my yard had weeds after the last rain and he told me the name of them and said give the treatment at least 2 weeks and I should see them change color and die.

Tru Green is the epitome of unprofessionalism and incompetency when it comes to landscaping. They not only ruined my front yard and back yard, but also left me with a muddy pit with a disgusting ring of weeds. It's appalling to have a company that refuses to take responsibility or fix their mistake. Even worse, they won't even refund the money that I paid for their so-called services. I trusted them to take care of my lawn and turn it into a beautiful oasis, but what I got was a nightmare. The lack of care and attention to detail is absolutely unacceptable. They left my yard floundering in misery, and they simply don't care about the damage they've done. It's frustrating and heartbreaking to see my once-lovely yard transformed into a dirty and lifeless hub. Their refusal to resolve the issue or compensate me for the shoddy work they've done is only pouring salt into the wound. I urge anyone reading this review to take note of my warning. Avoid Tru Green at all costs, unless you want to end up like me with a mud pit and a ring of weeds. This company doesn't care about its customers or their needs. They're only out to make a quick buck and leave you with a mess. It's time to hold them accountable for their actions and make sure that nobody else has to suffer the same fate as me.

The first time they provided service, I watched them on my camera fertilize the house across the street. They went to the wrong house. I brought this to their attention stating this was unacceptable and needed to be corrected. I also alerted the neighbor that they presumably got fertilized. TruGreen returned a week later for a “free” service "to make it right". We have 3/4 acre of lawn. They not only purposely ignored over 1/2 of the lawn, they also NEVER went back to the truck to refill their spreader. See the photo of the TruGreen employee fertilizing with an empty spreader captured on my cameras. Furthermore, my cameras have him starting the job at 12:29 and finished, back to the truck, at 12:35. Six minutes to fertilize 3/4 acres. No spreader refills and intentionally neglecting more than 1/2 of or lawn (with a fake empty spreader). These people are the most dishonest service providers I have ever worked with.

I will never use Trugreen again. My lawn treatment was not performed in my backyard evidenced by my backyard cameras. The receipt that was left on my door said they did perform the service - dishonest. I called the company twice to talk to a manager and I never ever got a call back - management of this company is very poor and management doesn't care about the customer or they would call you back. They did come back a fertilize after I pointed out that the backyard was not done. They do a great job on the lawn but I fired this company due to the management lack of caring that they were about to cheat me out of what I paid for.

They are not responsive and at times don't show up. Today the tree service technician sprayed chemicals into the pool and pool furniture. All he had to do was point the hose away from the pool. Yesterday the lawn care treatment shows very little fertilizer was used and he left a large pile of fertilizer in the street in front of my house.

Terrible....sad they spent more time trying to get me to buy more services and try them again than actually sending someone to fix what they said they would do....

I have a contract with them. It's every 6 weeks or something. I don't have any weeds. I just don't really care for their customer service aspect.

In the past the have killed my fescue by applying pre-emergent after overseeing. They say they will correct that. Time will tell.

They never show up when they say they will, yet they bill me each time. I have consistently called to complain and they say they will send someone back out, but they never show up either.

Their pricing was fine. Fertilizing was done great. Our grasses are coming in really well.

They go above and beyond. They come back out no questions if they missed a spot.

They could do better on the applications for weeds. They don't get in the nooks and crannies.

Actual technicians and their supervisors, do a good job, though I would have them out for weed service calls more often if I had the time to arrange it and be there to show them. There are too many weeds. The office, on the other hand, tries to charge me for services I have already paid for, and for service calls (which are supposed to be free). They did not succeed, with the help of my tech supervisor ( I am not sure this is his proper title), but it is annoying. In my experience, there have been no companies that do this service at an A rating, except for the company that I was using before Truegreen purchased them. This is why I continue to use them.

I think there are 4 applications a year. It is $49 per application. I used to be with another service provider and their service was very poor. The quality is fine. They never miss an application. It is a lot better than the other service provider.

The goal was to have fewer weeds and we do. The grass has been green, too. (service was about $200-300/ year. I can not remember exact price)

I pre-paid for a year in advance for a 20% discount for the services list. In 4 months time I have received 1 application, the week after I made the original payment. Since then I HAVE RECEIVED NO TREATMENTS. They have called several times to tell me they are on their way, and they never show. The final straw was today, they were suppose to come last Thursday, no show, 3rd time they did not show, rescheduled for Monday (today), no show again. I call head quarters, and am told that they were here today, sprayed a liquid fertilizer, weed control, and pH balancer. MY WIFE WORKS FROM HOME!!!!!!!!!! They were not here. They produced an online bill, showing the temperature of today and said the guy was here, that is the only way he can produce a bill. THEY WERE A NO SHOW FOR THE 4TH TIME!!! They will not give a refund or end the service as it was pre-paid. I am calling corporate in the morning and demanding a full refund for services that were not rendered. If you live in OKC, do not use TruGreen, they are scamming liars.

The staff is pretty nice. The representative of the company was friendly. She answered all my questions I needed. They spray the lawn while I'm at work and they performed a well job.

We've been using TruGreen for two years, and we've not been impressed with the service or quality. We've decided to drop them, based on the latest incident in which they promised to perform a service on two separate days and did not show for either of them.

This company always go door to door eventually I decided to give them a try. They were supposed to spray my yard and the first treatment was supposed to be at a discounted rate of $39.00. They sprayed my yard and my entire lawn is dead. The grass is brown and crispy. They kept saying to water it and it would be ok. I watered it not to mention we had plenty of rain and my grass is still brown and crispy. They sent a manager out and the manager says it's not dead and that I just need to water it. I had another company come out and confirm the grass was dead and nothing I can do until next year. It upsets me because earlier this year I just paid someone to seed my yard and get my grass green and now this company just killed all my grass! Then they billed me $55 when it was supposed to be $39.00.

I've used them for about 12 years and I'll likely stay with them. They're always very punctual and let me know when they'll be out. They tend to send different people out to do the applications (typically one of three), and they're always very professional.

The quality of their work was pretty high. They were consistent. You do not have to worry that they fix you overnight, but I did think they were a little overpriced though. I would not recommend them just because of the price. I have been able to find cheaper locally. I never actually spoke to them directly.

I started using Scotts about 2 years ago. As the time goes by, I seem to have more weeds then I started with. The first year was good and I had no complaints. This year is a different story. I am finding more and more weeds in the yard and each treatment seems to show no improvement. Because of my dogs, I do not have them treating the backyard, and it has less weeds then what I am starting to find in the front. I have a sprinkler system that waters on a regular schedule and mow weekly to a 3 inch height. They used to leave little comments about the condition of my lawn and recommendations when I first started using them, but now, they come out and sprinkle some pellets and leave. Do they even look and notice that the weeds are there? I want someone that is going to take the time and analyze the needs of my lawn and treat it accordingly. I dropped Scotts today and have someone coming out from another company for an estimate.

We had a different provider for several years, but decided to switch because we were having recurring problems with weeds. Since switching this year, we have seen very few weeds. We have one patch in the back yard that tends to stay damp, and has been a problem. The last time Trugreen came out, they payed special attention to that area, and it is now clearing up. We are extremely happy with their work in our yard. It looks better this year than it has in several years.

My wife and I discussed our lawncare needs based on a couple small spots that resembled Spring Dead Spot (SDS) disease - a disease that targets bermuda grass. We purchased the Tru Complete Lawn Plan with Tru Green and was informed that a specialist would analyze our lawn and design a plan tailored to manage and maintain our lawn. However, the SDS has progressively gotten worse - as evidenced by other lawncare professionals that we have asked to look at our lawn in order to provide professional advice. One lawncare professional stated "yes, it's pretty bad." Our lawn is so bad that we considered having our entire lawn, both front and back, redone. We have contacted Tru Green a several on a couple of occasions to inform them of our major issue. A Tru Green representative came to our house to look at our lawn and stated that he is not an expert, but the problem must have originated from bad soil. He provided this analysis without even having a soil test competed - a typical deflection of the problem from the company in which one works. I truly think that Tru Green sells a plan to customers and based on that plan, uses a cookie-cutter approach rather than a specific plan tailored for each homeowner's lawn needs. I strongly recommend that you do not hire Tru Green! I am convinced that Tru Green does not not use a tailored-plan approach, but a cookie-cutter approach based on the plan you purchase.

This was back in the year 2010 and I am not really sure it is worth my time to write about their service. I am very satisfied with who I have been using since last spring of 2013 (Naturalawn). To me that is all that matters. The bottom line is let's just say TruGreen had a difficult time admitting that they were at fault for ruining my lawn.
