Mr. Steward was very experienced and very prompt, he gave you full hours of work that you would need him and he would do the best job for you.

Mr. Steward did a great job at an amazing price. There were three beams under my bathroom that were either rotted or broken. He went under there and attached the new beams to the old beams and the floor is as good as new! He also installed some light fixtures/ceiling fans throughout my house and installed some acoustic ceiling tiles. Will definitely hire again.

I could not be happier with Chet Steward, the quality of his work, and his professionalism. When my mom needed to sell her home, and because I live out of state, I decided to join Angie's List. I searched the lists for the kind of work I needed completed and came away with three or four candidates. My interviews were conducted over the telephone. Steward Maintenance was not the least expensive quote I received, nor was it the most expensive, but I felt the most comfortable with Chet. I did fly out to my mother's house in Moore and met Chet during the progress of his working on a long list of household repairs. He did an excellent job. One particular job worth recounting: we needed to remove the old kitchen trash compactor and turn that space into a usable kitchen base cabinet. Chet made a recommendation that we accepted. He built the base cabinet and turned the space into the trash cabinet housing two small kitchen trash cans on a roll-out drawer slide. When Chet finished, the new cabinet blended perfectly with the rest of the kitchen--even the antique-stained arched frame-and-panel cabinet door perfectly matched! I would definitely hire Chet again--without so much as a second thought. In fact, my sister lives in Shawnee, and I'm trying to convince him to to out there to work on her house.

Came out and looked at it, then set up a time to come repair it. Showed up on time and completed the job quickly. He did an excellent job repairing the drywall inside, cleaned up, and you couldn't even tell he was here except I had a brand new faucet that worked!

Chet was running behind in the morning, but called twice with progress reports on arrival (his business is 35 miles from our home). When he arrived, he went right to work and spent 11 hours getting the job done. Chet is very attentive to detail and the work went well. An amazing amount was accomplished in 11 hours and we booked another appointment to take care of the next items on our to-do list. Everything that Mr. Steward has fixed at my house has been done to more than my complete satisfaction. He is always punctual and if he does run late, he always calls and lets me know when he will arrive. He takes a lot of personal pride in fixing whatever is needed and the quality of his work is unmatched. He had to come in behind another contractor and finish the installation of the wood floor in my RV, and while it isn't yet totally completed, the work he has done shows his attention to detail and has made the floor look custom. I will continue to use him only for any repair etc needed on either my home or my RV.

Chet was both friendly and professional and was very good about trying to save me money while finishing the tasks we had requested.. I was able to go buy the materials needed while Chet began the work, which saved time and money. He had good, creative ideas about how to accomplish our wishes and he returns on 7/22/2015 to work on other projects. I am very satisfied with his services.

Deck was power washed too closely by Chet's associate that was unsupervised. Wooden deck was gouged due to having the power washed nozzle too close which resulted in breaking the power washer. He then charged me for the rental of another. Gouged so badly that they had to return and sand it; however scars remain. Showed up 4 hours late to stain the deck the following week. He then left the site and did not return for another three hours. The deck staining was never completed. He said he would return the following week, but did not. I hired another to complete the job. He charges $50.00 an hour. I would NOT recommend him to a friend.

The did a great job The price was very reasonable. They were quick, courteous, and very friendly.

Both workers were fast and professional. They tried to be as clean as possible. NO job was too small for them including changing the bulbs in a high chandelier. Fair price and respectable time needed to complete the work. Definitely keeping their number in my contacts list.

I like his professionalism and everything. I trust him, his company very much, his promptness to return my phone calls, promptness of coming out to my home and professionalism in terms of the service. My barn is neat and clean. I am very picky and very precise. He did everything precisely as I wanted expertly done and very well. I have another appointment with them.

Over the last year and a half we've hired Chet again and again, at least 15 days total, and recommend him to family that needed work done. They were also glad they waited and used Chet Steward and plan on using him again. We hope Chet never retires as we can't imagine finding someone that could compare. His prices are ridiculously low (sometimes by as much as half!) compared to the four or five other quotes we received from contractors; Chet charges by the hour rather than by the job. He has worked as a contractor and knows what he's doing. In addition, he's a perfectionist and has been known to stay at our place past midnight just to "get it done right!." You can trust this guy in your home, he's also a former pastor and still has the morals entailed. He's never needed to advertises as his work speaks for itself. In fact, the main drawback to hiring Chet is the wait; he's in such demand that he's often booked out for months! We recommend scheduling early and more time than you need to complete the jobs; you don't want to have a project unfinished and waiting for Chet's scheduled to open up. There's no need to worry that Chet will be left hanging; he always has a list of people hoping to be scheduled early due to cancellation. Also, Chet is NOT a morning person, he starts late (even when he says he'll be there early) and often works late into the night; don't schedule on a day when you need to head out in the evening so he has the chance to finish what he's started. The only other problem we've had is with his unskilled labor associate--his price per hour includes Chet, his tools and one helper. These helpers have varied from amazing to lazy--one such helper kept disappearing to take cigaret breaks and read a romance novel. Even so, when we've had problems, we've talked to Chet and he's reduced the bill for the day accordingly; he's also fixed mistakes by said helper at no charge. At one point in the remodeling our electric stove was broken by accident. Chet paid us replacement cost for the electric stove and installed a new stove for free (almost $500 in free labor!). This was not an easy install since we upgraded to an induction oven and added a downdraft range hood; much of the island cabinetry had to be redesigned to fit. Chet is also open to letting people, like my husband, help with remodels in order to speed up the process and, thus, reduce costs. You'll get the most bang for your buck if you have all the supplies ready for him when he arrives. He is willing to go to the store and pick things up but you do pay for his time to go shopping. Overall, Chet is the only handyman we'd consider hiring. He's smart, funny, trustworthy, experienced and affordable.

I have a variety of jobs I need to have a completed. I telephoned him, leaving a voice mail message, but no return call.

Chet and his assistant Scott are very professional about their work. Even though they are located over 25 miles from our house, Chet came by before the work was done to discuss what we wanted and to give suggestions regarding the work. When they arrived to do the work we had planned, they started immediately and worked quickly. While they were doing the planned work, it occurred to me that there were a couple of other jobs that I would like done and asked if they could do those. They were very accommodating and agreed, interspersing the new work with the jobs they were already working on. All of the work was finished comfortably within two days and it was a very pleasant experience. Unlike many workmen, Chet did not insist on arriving first thing in the morning. While they worked, both Chet and his assistant discussed what they were doing and the pros and cons of different techniques and materials. I found this very helpful as I serve as the "amateur handyman" for many of the household jobs and appreciate some training when it's available. In my experience, it's rare to find very knowledgeable workmen who are willing to share their knowledge while they work and are pleasant to talk to. When the work was finished, they did a good job of cleaning up the work site and nothing was left undone. The price for the work was very reasonable and Chet does an excellent job of accounting for every item he bills for on the invoice, complete with store receipts for all materials purchased. Chet and Scott certainly have our highest recommendation.

He is absolutely perfect. I found him on Angie's List and I've used him many times. He's very reasonable in price, he charges $35 an hour and he comes out and gets it done very quickly.

I apologize that this review is seven months late. This tardiness is in no way a reflection of how I evaluate Chet Steward's services. I needed expert handyman help at a very unsettled time. My husband had just just been released from the hospital with a terminal diagnosis, I needed help NOW, because I had to separate the nursing area from the rest of the house. And It had to be a glass or screen door because I also needed to keep a recently adopted belligerent cat not just closed off from the original feline inhabitants, but I also wanted them to be able to get used to the sight of each other. My door problem did not have an easy store-bought solution but Chet went the extra mile and scouted around and found a used storm door from the Habitat for Humanity ReStore for not much money. Then he tinkered and adjusted and tinkered until it fit the opening perfectly. I needed a motor for my garage door because I no longer had the time and energy to operate the door manually. Installation involved among other things crawling around in a low garage attic. And many of my door frames had been ruined by scratching cats. Replacements had to be measured, cut, stained and fitted into place. All this had to be executed while the house was swarming with hospice personnel and medical equipment providers establishing a base of operation. Chet, and his associate Liz were infinitely patient, tactful and understanding. They completed the work two days and did a wonderful job. They were professional and a pleasure to have around..The price was very reasonable. I will definitely ask for Chet's help for future jobs, if he is willing. Again, I apologize for the delay in submitting this review. My husband hung on for five more months, and after that I have been quite busy.

Super job, worked from minute they arrived to when they finished. He has a truck with everything he needs to do a job. I would hire him again, it is very difficult to find someone who does everything.... The only thing is it took several weeks before he had time to do my job, but he was worth waiting for. Chet arrived later than planned, but had kept me informed on this. He worked hard and long; and stayed quite late to try to finish my to-do list - which was probably too extensive for the time he had. He had a helper, who we also paid hourly - he helper was pleasant; helped Chet and cleaned up after jobs, but was not needed for all the tasks. Chet was great - he worked hard and took few breaks. He was eager to get my list accomplished and to do the jobs well.

Unlike other handymen I've dealt with, who are specialists masquerading as a handymen, Chet is a true handyman. Don't ask him what he can do. Ask him what he won't do. He can do virtually anything. He was honest, trustworthy, and professional and his price was very reasonable. I found him on Angieslist and took a chance on him after talking to several handymen. He exceeded my expectations and I was 100% satisfied with the job he did and his approach to everything. I will call him in the future.

Chet is good so he is very busy and it may take several weeks to get him to your house, but he's worth the wait. We will use him whenever we need something done.
