Mr. Hollinger is a gentleman. After listening to me about my TV problem, he explained that it would be unwise to repair it, as its problem has to do with the panel itself, and replacing it would cost as much as buying a new TV. He was absolutely right, as I checked several online support forums and found similar advice. I would highly recommend Jim, as he has a great work ethic and integrity.

Repairman showed up exactly at the appointment time. Our 62and quot; Sony Wega TV had the power light flashing red three (3) times indicating that the lamp door was open, but it was secure. Diagnosis was made quickly and repaired. I was also told about another sensor to watch for inside the area where the lamp housing goes. Our 75and quot; Mitsubishi DLP TV would turn on, indicate that there was no airflow, and then turn itself off. Diagnosis was again made quickly and repaired. There was a faulty temperature sensor that made the system think that it was overheating when it was not. It only took about 45 minutes to repair both TVs. Cost was $135 per TV, which wasn't too bad. The repairman definitely knew what he was doing and was very professional. I will use them again should the need arise.

Called Statewide TV to repair my TV. I started the conversation with knowledge of the TV and told him what I thought the problem was. Jim responded quickly and was out the next day. It was the problem I found on the internet. I paid $235 (89 of that for the visit) to replace the thermostat. I arrived home and the TV worked for about an hour and same problem occurred. I called Jim that night and he was out late the next day. I got home about the time he was leaving for the second visit and he explained it was a lamp problem and that it busted and he replaced it. Jim was not aware I just replaced the lamp as a step before I called Statewide for around $30 bucks. Jim said he would not charge the service call fee ($89), but charged me a $129.00 for the lamp part, which was just the lamp and did not include the harness that I just previously paid $30 bucks. I did not want to argue, I was glad the tv was fixed and let it go. Two days later, the symptoms started again. I called Jim and never heard back. I had to leave town for a week and get home and same problems are occurring and the TV does not work. At this point I would rather buy a new TV than deal with Statewide. They had two visits and $370 of my money and I think anyone would expect it to be fixed at this point. I don't have the confidence they have the expertise to fix it and would just charge me more money. Summary Jim is a nice guy in person and responsive, but I feel is out to make a buck off people who he thinks don't know anything about TV's. I don't, but I have had this TV for 7 years and know all the issues and problems and feel Statewide ripped me off and they don't have the expertise to resolve issues, at least on my particular SONY model TV. My first call was a question to him about should I buy a new TV or if mine could be fixed for a reasonable price. I trusted the guy to fix my TV for a reasonable cost. I could have went bought a brand new one for a little over $370. Also, one last thing, my credit card was charged twice for $235 for the first visit.. I did receive a check a few days later, but still a hassle to deal with. I would not recommend going with Statewide TV.

I went to [member name removed] home on the first visit and Diagnosed his tv and repaired it. A thermostat had to be replaced, He called later that evening and left a message the unit had stopped working again. I made special arrangements in my schedule the next day to go back out to Piedmont and help the customer out. Upon checking his TV I found that the lamp in the unit had failed. I installed a new lamp and the unit came right on. As far as the charges he could have refused the lamp and I would have removed it. (Jim was not aware I just replaced the lamp as a step before I called Statewide for around $30 bucks) We don't use after market lamps that cost 30 dollars for just this reason they don't last.. That's why the lamps are 129.00 and guaranteed for 1 year. I contacted [member name removed] voice mail upon hearing from him, but never heard back. Until the people from angie's list contacted me about this review. ( I had to leave town for a week was how I read it ) As for the mistake on his CC I am the one who contacted the customer as soon as I found the mistake,and told him I was returning him the 235.00. I'm sorry it was such a problem for him to make a bank deposit. I understand he feels the way he does ,but without the opportunity to resolve the issues I can't. I always go the extra step to resolve issues with my customers and if [member name removed] would have contacted me I believe we could have resolved this one. Jim

Called and scheduled an appointment for the next morning. Was called after appointment time that they were running late and were on the way. Once arrived, repair was quick. Gentleman was professional, helpful and pleasant. I will be doing business with them again if needed.

I called this company for service on my fairly new TV, and a gentleman came out the same afternoon. He located the problem reasonably quickly, but the repair required that he take one of the components back to his business for further service. He promised to return within a few hours and did so. Although the TV was now working, it was apparent that I would need an antenna for clear reception. He agreed to obtain one and install it. He located an unobtrusive one that did not require rooftop placement, and at present I have satisfactory TV reception. The gentleman was prompt, businesslike and friendly. Although the repair was a bit pricey, I have a feeling that I might have paid even more elsewhere. I would certainly utilize his services again and would recommend his business to others.
