Response from Sooner State Home Improvement
(removed member name), First, I wanted to thank you for contacting Sooner State Home Improvements to allow us the opportunity to provide you with an estimate on siding your home. We truly appreciate that opportunity. Second, I wanted to address your concern about Mr. Willis' assessment that the siding currently on your home was asbestos siding. Your concern was that Mr. Willis was making an assumption due to the age of the house. Mr. Willis has been in the home improvement business for over 30 years. All of those years have been in Oklahoma, so he's very familiar with the materials used to build and renovate homes in this part of the country. Mr. Willis was very sure by the touch, the feel, and by the brittle condition of the current siding that it was asbestos siding. As for the others you dealt with that never mentioned the asbestos siding, we can't speak for them. I don't know why they wouldn't mention anything about the possible presence of asbestos on your home. I do know that our company takes matters like the health and welfare of our customers very seriously, so in matters dealing with substances like asbestos or lead based paint, we would rather lose a sale than take a chance on risking anyone's safety or their health. I am truly sorry that we could not come to an agreement on installing siding on your home. I do hope that if you do decide to have siding installed on your home, that you ask the company doing the work if they checked the siding for asbestos, for your health and for their installer's health. The installers would be at a very high risk. Again, thank you so much for the opportunity to try to earn your business. We wish for nothing but the best for you and yours. Sincerely, Joe Jordan Sooner State Home Improvements
