Sonward Construction LLC

After working thru my insurance company on a roofing claim from a hail storm in Summer 2012 and taking various bids for roof replacement, I settled on Sonward construction to perform the roof replacement. The Sonward office team worked with me to establish a day best suited for roof replacement. The team arrived at the appointed time to install the roof on my 1655 sq foot house. The roof was replaced in two days with no problems, the company also helped coordinate some gutter replacement. All went excellent. The office staff was excellent in the financial handling department.

Since the Contractor was the Insurance Co. suggestion the two of them worked together to make the job go smoothly. The contractor arrived a couple of days early to discuss the shingle type and color, the timing and action of what was to happen. Each item occurred as discussed. The shipment of shingles and parts arrived as scheduled and was parked where we asked for it. On the next day, six men came to the house about 2 pm (they had just finished another that morning) and began to remove the old shingles. While they were pulling the old shingles an empty container was parked under the roof edge and the removed shingles were dumped into the container. These men removed half of the old shingles and covered that area with a waterproof cover that remains. When they quit for the evening (about 8:30 pm) the area was clean and the roof was water proof (though no rain was forecasted). The next morning I awoke and 6am to find the trash container gone. About 7 am both the trash container and the six men had arrived. These men completed removing the old roof and began in earnest putting on the new roof. They finished the entire job by 8:30 pm. The temperature was 105 degrees F. I did nothing except provide Gatoraide and water. They worked steady, without stop, except for a 30min lunch break. When the roof was completed the men began cleanup. Not only did they pick up all trash that had fallen or blown down from the roof but also used a tool to search for any fallen nails. When they left just before total dark they were completely finished. The next morning the the trash container was removed and the supervisor gave the roof and area a final inspection. Any flaws or errors were corrected at that time (very few were found). Among the details I noticed was that all the vents had been painted a brown color to blend with the shingles, the pinnacle ridges stood out and highlighted the roof while the valleys were smoothly covered with the shingles over the usual sheet metal cover placed there to protect from leakage. Finally, payment. This was complicated because the check from the insurance company was made out not only to myself but to the Sonward Roofing and Construction and to the Mortgage Co. Getting an endorsement from the mortgage company proved to a problem and very lengthy process. Sonward Roofing and Construction was helpful and patient in getting payment for their work. The mortgage required proof of insurance, licensing, and bonding. In addition, the mortgage company required proof of completion of work. All of this Sonward Roofing and Construction handled in the background while I only had to call the mortgage company to continually remind them of the importance of endorsing the check so the roofing company could be paid.

They repaired, redecked and reroofed my house. They were very good about working with me on the amount I owed above the money paid by insurance.

Everything was wonderful. They did a great job, and the communication between their rep and us was great. Everything they did was exactly as they said it would be done. They cleaned up really well afterward, and came back to check and assure everything was done correctly. They protected my gardening around the perimeter of my home. Their prices were very competitive, and I would definitely use them again.
