Our sales rep was Nate King. When he came by for an estimate, I couldn't believe that my husband wanted to go with this guy. My husband would ask questions, such as "What if the roof leaks in two years?" and Nate would think a moment, and then reply, "Well, it won't." After my husband had asked several questions, Nate was obviously annoyed, and said something along the lines of, "We can't plan for every scenario, if something is wrong we'll just fix it." Well, that doesn't sound like a real guarantee to me, buddy! My husband ultimately decided to use Heartland (Roofing Authority) because they could repair everything in the house themselves, unlike most roofers, who could only do the outside damage. So I went along with it, but didn't really have the best feeling about the transaction. I will say this: the roofers themselves did a great job. I'm not sure if these guys were real Roofing Authority roofers, or if they were subcontracted out. But they did a great job. They were timely, and I only found a few nails in the yard after they left. I have few complaints. What was MUCH worse was the indoor construction crew. The indoor crew didn't show up for two days in a row despite having "confirmed" times, so we had to miss quite a bit of work. The drywall "specialists" left ridges in our living room ceiling that are still there today. The garage drywall FELL DOWN and had to be redone. And the worst part of all - they BROKE our living room TV and then tried to blame us! They were dragging ladders around willy nilly, and it wasn't until after they left that we realized that the glass on our living room television was cracked! We contacted Nate, and he said he'd get back to us. When he did, he said that the painters told him it must have been our dogs. Dude, our dogs weren't even in the room. It was NOT them. Finally, Nate agreed to replace the TV, and he did. But it wasn't without quite a bit of anger and frustration on our part. It never should have been broken in the first place, and to blame US for something that we obviously didn't do was wrong. There are other things we have issues with, like shoddy paint jobs (they painted the bathroom with a color that obviously didn't match, so we had to repaint the whole thing) and the price changing on us near the end, but what I found very disrespectful was the way they constantly called about payment. Nate knew from he get-go that we'd have to wait for the insurance check to pay them. He said he was okay with that. We kept him in constant contact with our insurance company. But he called my husband and started saying, "We need you to give us something." That wasn't the agreement. I'm sorry that the process takes a while, but we never told you that we'd pay you out of pocket. We CAN'T right now - we have to replace all the damaged stuff in the house! It started to sound like the mafia after a while, so we were really, really glad when the insurance finally paid everything. Nate knew from the beginning that they would receive the rest of their money after inspection, so I don't have any idea why he thought he could wrangle us. It was very rude. I would never, ever go with these people again. They don't even seem good at the get-go, and not much changes after that.
Description of Work: Our roof was destroyed in the May 2010 hailstorm that went through Moore, OK. We hired Roofing Authority (although they first presented themselves as Heartland General Contractors) to completely replace our roof, to fix the water spots and ceiling damage in most of the house. Our damage from the storm was extensive.

It was awful. Junior has to be the rudest person and one of the biggest jerks I've ever dealt with. He happens to be one of the owners, which explains why he still has a job there. I have never had a business yell at me or hang up on me like Junior did. Look at the pictures and see why I was upset. These pictures are after they had come out twice and said the siding was "finished". What they conveniently forgot to fix was the siding that was DAMAGED BY THEIR OWN ROOFERS. It is ridiculous that Junior tried to tell me he was doing me a courtesy. Last time I checked, the customer is doing the business a courtesy by paying them 15000 to do the job. Good riddance to this company, please do not waste your time with them. There are too many other companies that will do it right the first time.
Description of Work: They replaced my roof and siding. The roof has had snow blowing in it in three different spots during a snow storm. This isn't from vents, since I found out where the snow was coming in and they just did a TERRIBLE job wth the roof(see pics). The siding looked awful (see pics). We agreed that they would fix the damaged siding, but they didn't fix all of it. When I called them back, Junior said the insurance didn't give him the money to fix all of the siding. However, when we agreed to have Roofing Authority do the job, we agreed all of the siding would be fixed for the amount the insurance company gave us, and then he tried to claim he was doing me a favor. I had to ask Junior to stop yelling at me on the phone, and he told me it was the insurance and the other companies fault. He always had an excuse for everything, even yelling at a customer who was about to pay them 15000. He told me "you aren't the most accessible person and are difficult to get ahold of"...because they had to wait for me to return some phone calls, despite the fact that I have taken of multiple days at work to come meet them at my house, but they never showed up and never had the courtesy of making a phone call to tell me they weren't going to be there. I am a medical student and don't always have time to pick up the phone to get yelled at by the roofing company and my priority doesn't involve making myself instantly accessible to a roofing company. I called them back as soon as I could, since I obviously wanted to get this taken care of. In my experience, placing the blame on the customer for lack of performance by the company never works too well for future business. Update: I recently found out that Junior is part owner from one of the secretaries. I said "Oh so that's how he can get away with talking to customers like he does". Her response was "Yeah we just have to learn to put up with it, he can have a short fuse." Even his own company can't stand him. This is NOT the person you want to do business with.

My roof was damaged in the May 16th, 2010 hail storm and I called roofing authority 2 days after the storm. They showed up and agreed to fix the house including siding, awnings, shingles, and other interior damage. It took them over two months to put the roof on. During the two months, their was $3000+ worth of additional damage. When I called to ask why it was taking them so long to put a roof on my house, since Roofing Authority, my insurance company, and myself had all agreed on a price for the roof, Junior blamed it on the awnings. However, when I told him how frustrated I was with the additional damage and the length of time it was taking them, he wouldn't let me finish a sentence and ended up cussing me out and hanging up on me saying " I don't want your d*** business". After receiving apologies from another employee, but never Junior, they put my roof on the next day. They put half of my siding on, did a terrible, unacceptable job with the siding, leaving 3-4 inch gaps from the siding to the roof. They came out to fix THEIR OWN WORK, and only fixed half of it. The siding that was DAMAGED BY THEIR OWN ROOFERS, has still not been fixed, along with other siding that we agreed in person to fix. It has now been 4 and 1/2 months and I still have damaged siding, both from the hail storm and from the roofers, no awnings, and plenty of empty promises of them showing up to fix it all, but they never do. I was asked to be patient and I told them I would be extremely patient, as long as they would communicate with me. However, they have made no attempts to communicate or show professional courtesy enough to call me and cancel an appointment, they simply just don't show up. When they do show up, they are often over an hour late, during which I have been taking time off work and waiting for them. Almost every time, I am the one to initiate a phone call to find out what is going on and why. The clearly have no idea how to do the job correctly the first time, treat customers, or run a business. They are an absolute nightmare and are one of the roofing companies that try to scam you by taking so long to do the job that you eventually get tired of dealing with it. PLEASE DON'T USE ROOFING AUTHORITY OR HEARTLAND GENERAL CONTRACTORS. If you do, do so at your own risk. There are too many other companies that will do the job correctly the first time.
Description of Work: They put on a roof and half of my siding. They are supposedly replacing awnings on my house, but they have yet to do so. The siding had to be redone, and they still didn't fix the damaged siding from their own roofers. It has now taken them 4 1/2 months and they still have not fixed the siding.

Mr. Spradlin came out only minutes after I called their office. The insurance company did not want to replace anything on my roof at all. He met with the insurance person and next thing I knew, Mr. Spradlin called and told us that we were getting a new roof! The roof guys came out and had my job done in just a few hours. They were referred to us by a friend in Eufaula, OK who had some work done as well. DEFINITELY A PROFESSIONAL COMPANY!
Description of Work: Took off and replaced shingles on my roof due to wind damage.
