We only allowed Oklahoma High Tech to take care of the "contents" of the house. Thank God for that! They charged for doing what was called "Ozoning" on our clothes. Applying Ozone is supposed to remove the smoke smell out of the clothing, not to mention, they charged for laundering our clothing. When we moved the contents back into the house the boxes had never been opened, and never been touched. Our wood furniture had what appeared to be white spray paint scattered on it. A lava mortar and pestle had been placed in the same box as some of our crystal that was in our china cabinet. You can only imagine what happend!! Our credenza, which had been passed down from my wife's great aunt, had a huge gouge across the top of it that had not been there before the house fire. They had charged for cleaning appliances as well. When our refrigerator had been brought back to the house, it was full of mold, and had never been cleaned. When all of this was brought to the owner's (Nolan Wellbourne) attention, he sent his 20 some odd year old son to "take care of things". His son told us that none of the problems were the companies fault. He said the scratches and the paint were already there before they removed them from the house. We quickly asked him to leave, and to send his dad before things became serious. After a week, his dad, Nolan Wellbourne, finally set up an appointment, and came to the house. He started where his son left off, and accused us of trying to get new furniture out of them. Things became very ugly. After arguing over a week Nolan Wellbourne contacted me at work and said that my wife was being unreasonable and that he needed to negotiate with me. I refused. Later, in a conversation with my wife, Nolan was arguing with her over the phone. Nolan said he was not going to fix anything. He said the crystal stemware that they broke was not as expensive as we say it was, and that he would only replace it after we got an appraisal. We got an appraisal from Kambers. It was appraised rather expensively. My wife had purchased it in an estate sale, and was impossible to replace. During that conversation my wife overheard the owner's wife telling him not to back down. Having enough of the run around, my wife said "fine, then you can talk with my lawyer!" and hung up the phone. Nolan Wellbourne called back immediately. We did not answer the phone. The answer machine picked up the call and we immediately heard Nolan say "I'm sorry Mrs. Lane, I'm sure we can work something out!" Let's not get lawyers involved. Give me a call back and we'll get things taken care of for you." After a few days we finally called him back and worked out the issues we had. Furniture was professionally restored by a company called "The Furniture Medic", who did exceptional work by the way. The crystal stemware was never replaced. I don't believe at that point we were concerned about that. We just wanted to be done with Oklahoma High Tech, Nolan Wellbourne and his son. We will NEVER hire him again, and would never recommend him to anyone. No company worth their beans should tell you that you are trying to get new furniture out of them. They were VERY unprofessional. It has been a long time since this happend, over 14 years ago, and this company may have made some changes. Since I refuse to ever hire them again, I couldn't say one way or the other.
Description of Work: The work Oklahoma High Tech performed was paid for by the insurance company, so it was hard to say, as it was over 15 years ago, how much they charged the insurance for their services. I can say for a fact, however, that this company charged for services that were never completed, or ever started. If Angie's List had been around then, I would have documentation to back up my accusations.

We used them to get rid of mold that was in our home. They really explained everything in detail on what was needed to be done. They also walked me through everything that was done afterwards. They really stand behind their work.
Description of Work: We had mold in our basement. They had to remove all of the drywall and chemically remove and treat the mold. Then they had to replace the drywall.
