david donkeen gave us a written contract signed mid may, to make a long story short we got 1/3 of the work done, he started and 
worked about 2 half days and we never saw him again, he had a million excuses, he flat out broke the contract,it took me months to get back some of the down payment, plus the work he did will have to be redone, DO NOT USE THIS MAN you will not be happy

David Doonkeen quoted me a price to build a flagstone patio in my backyard. After agreeing on the specifics and final cost he began the work. It was soon very apparent that he was way in over his head as he was working alone on this huge job after telling me that he had a crew that would be assisting him. He had no such thing. He asked for a draw on the final amount owed as he needed to buy more materials. After the work was completed he came by to pick up the balance that was owed him. At this time I expressed my concern that the screening was not hard and that the flagstone was not set. He told me that the "screening" ( filler) between the rocks would get "rock hard" to set the stones in place, in two days. This never happened. After a week of waiting for the screenings to get hard, I contacted him and asked why this was not happening. He said he did not understand why it wasn't getting hard and would come by and see what he could do. His solution was to put more screening. Needless to say this did not work either. This made the problem worse as the little rocks were all over the patio and grass as they never hardened. The flagstone was moving and could not be walked on without them moving and shifting. The screening was actually moving into the grass along the edge. Again I contacted him asking him to come over so we could discuss this and he texted me saying he would drop by and look it over. He came when I was not there and texted me saying it looked good to him and that he didn't know what more he could do to "make me happy." The problem got worse every day. I sent him a text restating the problems and asking that he return my money so that I could get it properly fixed. Repeated requests have been ignored. David Doonkeen has chosen to ignore my requests. David Doonkeen totally misrepresented himself and is anything but a professional. The public must be warned that he is not to be trusted when it comes to the services he promises.
