I try to be eco-conscious. I particularly appreciate his incorporation of pavers I already owned, and his use of recycled crushed concrete as base for the patio.
Dennis with Mudjack Mania, LLC met with me to discuss my needs for a concrete patio and sidewalks. He was very knowledgeable about the many options available for my project. He was patient with my many questions and his suggestions regarding design options were very helpful. The work was completed within the time frame stated. The new patio, sidewalks and mow strips are beautiful and turned out even better than I imagined. I definitely recommend Mudjack Mania, LLC and will not hesitate to use them again.
He had told us he would power wash the pool deck before they did the work, but they didn't do it. They sprayed water on the concrete and used a brush to clean it. Needless to say, that didn't work, so we spent 4 hours power washing it the night before they did the work. He said he never told us that he would power wash, but that is a complete lie. His contract even says he will power wash, but he said his power washer is too powerful for our concrete and will tear it up. What? He didn't even have a sprayer to attach to our hose, so he borrowed one from us along with a broom, a screwdriver and a pole to attach to their roller. When they applied the sealer, they only used a roller and no brush to get the tough to get spots. I asked him about it after they were done and he said he forgot to bring a brush. If we would have paid him that day, we would never have seen him again.
He came back the next day to finish touching spots and brought a cheap brush that the sealer was eating right through. This guy has a story for anything and nothing is his fault. When they put the sealer on the cement, they got a bunch of it rolling down into our pool, so we now have sticky runs of it on our liner and there isn't anything we can do to take it off. He put that blame on his employee even though he was with him the whole time. This guy is a know-it-all and if you use him, you are asking for trouble.
He took $200 off for caulking because we told him to not do it. He told us he couldn't find the color that matches our concrete, so he was going to use a gray caulk even though everything is a dark brown. We told him to forget it. This guy is one of the laziest people and we wish so bad we never hired him. The only good thing that came from it is we have one piece of concrete that is now level, but knowing him, it won't last. They also got a lot of the antiquing spray in our pool because they are so careless, so instead of them cleaning it all out, we had to do that too. I could go on for days with typing, but hopefully this is enough info to keep someone else from wasting their money like we did.
"After reading this review, I contacted this site immediately. I offered to send documentation that would without a doubt dispute and discredit all of the statements made by [Member name removed]. I was shocked to discover that the people that operate this site are not interested in any facts. They do not, and will not monitor statements posted by paying members. Without holding both the members and the contractors to the same standard, they have created an opportunity for people like [Member name removed], without any supporting documentation, to slander maliciously a reputable company. So, if paying members are allowed to write anything they want, good or bad, without having to document a single fact, my question is: How can ANY of the information on this site be trusted? Having never received a bad review before, I was not sure how to respond. I decided I would simply state a few facts. Within his review, [Member name removed] made several incorrect references to the contract. Unfortunately, he was not even able to post the correct contract date. I have the original contract and it is available to anyone who would like to review it to clarify the facts. Mudjack Mania prides itself on our customer service. Our policy is to resolve any and every customer issue and we do. We often even solve problems that are not ours, just to make sure our customers are satisfied. Apparently, this policy works well. Because, after almost 40 years of doing business this way, we have no unresolved complaints, from any of our hundreds of customers, with [Member name removed] being the only exception. We communicate with our customers up front that we are always extremely busy in the spring and early summer. Our policy is that any customer unable to wait may cancel at any time for any reason without penalty. Additionally, Mudjack Mania NEVER asks for nor accepts a deposit. We accept payment ONLY upon the customer acknowledging that all work is 100% complete to the customer’s satisfaction. Therefore, I see no scenario where anyone could be forced to wait, and or forced to accept inferior work, as no monies would change hands until all work was completed to the customer’s absolute satisfaction and accepted by the customer. For the record, I would like to point out that on the very day the work was accepted by [Member name removed] and payment made, [Member name removed] posted this review. Does that not seem odd to anyone but me? Several attempts have been made to contact [Member name removed], with intentions of resolving any unmentioned or unforeseen issues. Apparently, to date, he has been unavailable to return our calls. Lastly, I would like to apologize to any of our future customers for having to endure this display of public ignorance. Unfortunately, a growing lack of morality appears to be spawning an overabundance of this type of behavior. As for Mudjack Mania, We will keep our chins up and continue on, knowing that “this too shall pass”."
