He was going to resurface my two bathrooms and kitchen cabinets, and he wanted to start the job without giving me an estimate! He said he was going to email me an estimate from him. He just threw out a price of $6,500 off the top of his head. I'm not going to deal with him without a written estimate. How can he come up with a price without taking any measurements or writing down some of the description of what I wanted. I could never recommend him to anyone, and I will never use his services.
Description of Work: He came out and looked over what I wanted to have done, and never wrote anything down and didn't measure anything, and he said that he was going to get an estimate to me.
We hired Jeff because of previous carpentry projects he had done that really impressed us. He has shown himself to be an excellent craftsman, skilled and experienced in just about any remodel or construction task you throw at him. He came over, looked at the job we wanted done, took measurements, and called the countertop supplier right then. He came back the next morning with the countertops and got right to work. He and his assistant had the job done that day. We decided to have him build cabinet doors instead of leaving open shelving as we'd first thought, so he will build them at his shop and come back to install them in a day or two. He's a good family man who is honest, very hard working, and concerned with giving his customer the highest quality results. We've been happy to recommend him to others who needed his skills in both commercial and residential jobs. We will also be hiring him again in a few weeks to do drywall, cabinetry and countertop installation in our master bath remodel.
Description of Work: Installed new countertops for our kitchen remodeling project. Installed new under-mount bow-front farm sink and stove cooktop. The new sink is quite a bit larger than the previous top-mount sink, and required redoing the cabinetry bulkheads and building a shelf underneath for it to sit on. The new larger sink size also caused us to lose the three drawers that were in the island next to the old sink, so we converted the space to shelving and Jeff will be building and installing new cabinet doors for us.
