We were hit by the F5 tornado that ripped through Moore in 2013... during our rebuild process our builder told us to go to Metro to pick out our stove, dishwasher, and vent hood. Once we finally got a salesman's attention the actual purchase process went fairly easy and we decided to go ahead and get our fridge and washer/dryer there too. My relationship with Metro Appliances ended about a year later when all our appliances started breaking... the drum rollers on my dryer went out and had to be replaced, the turntable of my venthood/microwave has never worked right and squeals intermittently, part of the LCD on my fridge display is out already, the hot burner indicator light on my oven went out within 2 months, and my dishwasher drain pump had to be fixed twice now for not draining! I finally broke down and bought a new dishwasher tonight because it has quit filling. All my appliance were delivered and installed in early March 2014 so they're only about 2.5 years old. They shouldn't be breaking so much already... my family is only 4 people so it's not like we're **** ** appliances! Calling Metro to fix the appliances was useless, they blamed it on defective appliances and wanted us to contact the manufacturer or they wanted to charge a ton to come "fix" them. I understand appliances break down but 2.5yr old appliances breaking this much is rediculous! Makes me wonder if they're buying factory 2nds and referurbished models and passing them off as "New".

Description of Work: I visited their showroom on Reno with my father-in-law who had visited previously with my husband. The two of us were greeted several times by friendly, not pushy salesmen. The gentleman who helped us was very professional and remembered my father-in-law from the visit he'd made earlier with my husband. He answered all sorts of questions and didn't mind me taking photos of a few items. Several days later, my husband and I came together and the gentleman who helped us was very nice yet seemed to be less forthcoming with a confirmation that they would indeed make a call to the house prior to installation in order to check what needed to be done. They would not be able to do most of the pre-installation work, apparently for liability reasons. They also flat out do not install ventilation hoods which send exhaust through the roof, again, for liability reasons. This, we found to be somewhat limiting. So, between that and the mixed messages we got on pre-installation measurements/checks, we decided to go elsewhere. The place we used (and bought appliances from) had no problem with roof/attic-exhaust vent hoods and insisted on a pre-installation visit and even offered several tradesmen they regularly use who understand the type of work typically required. The difference to us seemed to be largely that while Metro caters to contractors or people accustomed to doing this sort of work (and therefore were perhaps less able to help families who only buy appliances every 10 years or so), the place we went to definitely puts the emphasis on helping those who don't do this kind of thing that often. Still, I'd go there again if I needed to for sure.

We will use them for all of our appliance needs.
Description of Work: We bought a French door refrigerator in 2012 from Metro, 9 months later the unit started having problems. Called KitchenAid they send out several service companies over a period of a month and were not able to repair the unit. Contacted Metro and they ended up replacing the unit with a new one. I am sure if I had not contacted Metro and them going to bat for us we would still have a completely useless refrigerator sitting in our kitchen. Great people and they stand behind their products.

My friend is blind and just moved to a new home which needed a refrigerator. I took her into Metro, looked straight at 3 people standing around their central counter and then guided my friend toward areas that were set up like kitchens. She preferred to just go to the refrigerator section but we couldn't see it. Still no one had approached us to offer help. Guess they figured a blind person couldn't possible really want to buy something. The fridge section was not obvious to me as it was behind a dividing wall, so we approached the counter and had to ask outright for help. Even as we stood at the counter, no one acknowledged us. We went to Harry's, got immediate help and bought her refrigerator.

We were on a mission to buy a refrigerator. The days of daily shopping ended long ago, and we are not fond of ice chests taking the place of a refrigerator. It took a long time to catch the eye of a sales person. We lost that eye immediately. Nobody came up to us after that. Their prices for every model we had seen in other stores (regardless of whether it was a model we could use) were about the same, despite the store painting itself as the place to go for good service and prices. We had bought an oven there a few years ago and it never worked right, the installers not leaving enough room to allow the self-cleaning feature to work. We did find one model that would fit plus leave a ton of space because it was way too small and bare bones in features. Betty Furness could have advertised it. As we left, a receptionist did raise her head long enough to say, and quot;Have a nice dayand quot; -- the only reason I'm feeling generous enough to rate it a and quot;Dand quot; in professionalism.
Description of Work: Did not sell us a refrigerator. In fact, they barely acknowledged our presence even though the store was not crowded. We needed an appliance to fit unique space requirements. Apparently, that didn't interest the store enough to give us a sales person. As we looked around by ourselves, using our own tape measure and whatever information was available on the appliances, we realized that the only model available that would fit our space was bare bones and looked like something out of the days when the ice man used to come to the door.

I called Metro on Saturday, 12/15 after realizing that something was wrong with the oven. Did not need emergency service, although I understand that was available. First available appt. was on Monday with a selection of times. I selected a time and the serviceman arrived on Mon. 12/17 within the time frame I was given. He had the parts on the truck and went to work immediatly and did not waste any time. Work was done in a professional and timely manner. Was only charged for parts and labor. I was told up front their was a service call fee of $69 but that would be waived if repairs were done, and it was. I would call them again for any appliance repairs that I might need.
Description of Work: Blower motor on large double Whirlpool oven went out. Unable to use the oven. They pulled the overn from the cabinet, cleaned all parts, installed new blower motor and fan. Took approximately 2 hours from start to finish. No wasted time or goofing off. Lynn was the repairman and did an excellent job.

They have a good storefront, big selection, reasonable prices, and good (although expensive) service. As far as appliances go, seems like either 1) appliances made in Korea are of better quality than the American brands or,2) the American brands are really made in China. You can still buy American-made, quality merchandise, if you shop carefully. Just because it's a namebrand however does not ensure its of good quality. They don't service all brands of appliances, but they seem to be very good at the ones they do service.
Description of Work: We purchased a sub zero model 690 from these people in 2002. It's supposed to be a "top-of-the-line" unit. It cost a lot, and there were no Internet deals to be found. They did cut the price a little bit though because they had a "sale". The installation went great, but within the first year, they had to come out and replace the evaporator coil in the refrigerator (a major part). They changed out the copper coil located in the unit, for an aluminum coil. Apparently, the refrigerator they are using is not compatible with copper, but the aluminum one has been fine so far. This was done under warranty, but I can't believe that a "quality" manufacturer would make such a mistake! Next, a small fan internal to the unit stopped working. It was out of warranty, so I had to pay for that one. Recently, there was something to do with the icemaker (which never worked very well to begin with), and I had to pay for that one to. Conclusion: the Sub Zero 690 is a nice well-designed appliance with convenient features, when it works. These guys had a huge selection of stuff in their store, name brands, and in all price ranges. They also sell Bosh, Thermidor, and other name brands. The Thermidor double oven we bought for a high price, has gone out three times, paid for every repair. The last time, they said the parts were no longer available, but I was able to find what I needed from an Internet parts store, so I got it fixed. Hope doesn't give me any more trouble. The Bosch dishwasher is dead, and will have to be replaced, it would cost more than it's worth to fix it. Their service is punctual, if not prompt,Professional quality work, but not cheap. It's not their fault that some of the appliances they sell are of poor quality, bad design and/or poor quality control. Seems like everything you buy these days is designed to fail after the warranty. They just don't make them like they used to.

Purchased Samsung Washer and Dryer from Metro Appliance in OKC (w. Reno), paid for installation and set up. Washer worked properly for one load then would not finish cycles. About every 6 to 7 attempts, the load would complete. Delivered on Friday, called Metro Appliance on Saturday to get the problem addressed, I was given a list of items to check before they would respond. I completed their list of items to check including calling Samsung who gave me another list of items. Finished all items in about 3 days, called Metro Appliance back and they would not help me. I explained that they delivered a washer that was defective and they said the only thing I could do was contact Samsung for them to handle. I told them that if I would have purchased any other place, they would bring another washer to replace the defective one they delivered. Their response was that if they did that, they would have a warehouse full of defective appliances. They delivered me a defective product and should have made it right. They would not do anything about replacing the defective washer. Called Samsung, they sent out a local repairman who couldn't pin point what caused the issue but wanted to start replacing parts to see if he could fix it. (He had to order the parts). Called Samsung back, told them that I didn't pay that much for a washer that has to be torn apart and possibly repaired. They arranged to send out a new washer and pick up the old. It took 5 to 6 weeks to get everything corrected. When the new washer was installed, everything worked at that point. Back to my complaint, Metro Appliance should have exchanged the defective washer they delivered and installed. If they would have done the right thing, it would have been a 3 day process instead of 5-6 weeks. Will not be back.

Got everything ok. Was a ding in the stainless steel oven, Melvin my salesperson took care of it and within5 days got a new door and they installed it. I am very very pleased with the salesperson which reflects on the whole store. I diffently would buy from again and have no problem in referring them to my friends.

This has been the worst possible experience for appliance purchase. We paid up front. The installer brought his 11 year old daughter. They did not install the appliance properly. There was sawdust left all over our kitchen, the installation was not level and did not function properly. They took an entire day to do this installation. The oven door was crooked, the hinges were loose. They had to come back 11 times to fix the problems. My husband and I both work but they were not willing to accommodate our schedules. This is the worst experience I have ever had.
