Merry Maids of Oklahoma City

They cleaned for me for years. It was adequate, sometimes they were better than others. I paid a little more because they said they were insured, licensed and bonded. They advertised themselves as trustworthy and I thought I was better protected by using them. Some jewelry came up missing from my bedroom, including my grandmother's wedding ring, I contacted them. They told me to make an itemized list and a police report. When I did that they told me that I would only be compensated if there was a police conviction and that would only happen if I had proof, like a video of a maid stealing. I told them that my bedroom is private and the maids are the only ones who had been in my bedroom except my husband and I. When I called the Regional Manager he said that my husband or children might have stolen my jewelry. He also said, "This is America" and "Insurance companies have rights". I feel that my trust was violated twice by Merry Maids. The first time when the maid stole my jewelry. There is a certain amount of risk when you let someone in you house to clean so, although it was upsetting and disappointing, it was something that I always knew could happen. What was more upsetting and surprising was the response from Merry Maids. There are going to be extremely few police convictions in these cases. They know that and they have stacked the deck so they do not have to compensate customers when items are stolen. Do not use Merry Maids because you think you can trust them or because you think you are protected. Their advertising is misleading and deceptive and they are quick to turn on their customers if there is a theft.

The first time Merry Maids came to my house was very disappointing. i was excited about coming home to my nice clean house. The first thing i noticed was that they hadn't touched the small office or the adjoining bathroom. After that i started checking everything and found many things not done that were part of their checklist. i was quite upset. I contacted the team leader a few days later and was told they would come and clean again. i told them not to, just do better next time. i was also told i would receive 4 coupons for $20 off my next cleanings and that the team leader would come the next time. She did not come and never checked back with me. The next couple cleanings were somewhat better, but not satisfactory. They said they "deep cleaned" my kitchen but didn't wipe off the top of the refrigerator. The final straw was when i asked them to do a few dishes and they left a note saying it had to go through the office and be put on the order. They put the dishes in the dishwasher. Only problem was, the dishes in the dishwasher were CLEAN. I had to rewash them all. I don't think this service is worth $115 each time. When I called to cancel my service they seem unconcerned. I told them I hadn't received the 4 coupons and they said they were in the computer but they couldn't give them to me because I kept paying the full amount. No one ever told me they were in the computer. i know of other people who have had great experiences with Merry Maids. Maybe it's just the area but my experience was very disappointing.

We had a little problem with breakage for a little while and they replaced the person. They are really good people. They had this one lady who was very exuberant in her house cleaning and she broke a couple of pieces that were replaceable. They did replace them and were very good at that. We called and requested that she not come back and she didn't. They correct all that stuff and paid for the stuff they broke.

They were here three times and overlooked major things on each visit. The laundery was not done properly. They did not strip the bed and replace with clean sheets, as I requested. The kitchen sinks were filthy. I had to fire them immediately. They seemed to be in and out and it showed. I felt very dissapointed. It seemed like the crew was very disoriented and in a hurry.

They come once or twice every month and they do an excellent job.

Pros: Original estimate was for 4-5 cleaners to get the job done in one day for $800. The 5 worked for 6+ hours and still had a lot left so 3 came back the next day and worked all day. When they left, everything had been cleaned, including pulling everything out of the pantry, wiping it off and putting in back in place. Same for cabinets and drawers. Excellent to be able to move back home to a clean house after almost 5 months! Cons: 1. Estimate was $800 so I was shocked to receive the invoice for over $2,000. I was not told that it would be so much more with them coming back the next day. If it wasn't for insurance paying for most of it, it would have been a serious problem for me. 2. One of the cleaners decided to use bleach on my marble tile shower. This is absolutely a very basic no-no! I don't even use bleach on grout because it yellows it. Their supervisor informed me immediately and took me to see the damage. In their favor, they hired a professional tile repair company to remove the etching from the marble and restore it. The repair company spent 12 hours over the course of two days to restore the tiles and did quite a good job. However, my dark grout has white patches, which the repair company said would fade over time. And, while Merry Maids is paying for the restoration, I am having to waste vacation days sitting at the house while they are working. Overall, if money is no object...hire them! Their work and professionalism is great!

Our neighbor’s granddaughter and our realtor both used them and were satisfied so we thought we would give them a try. We are happy with them. Initially they did a deep clean which took 1 1/2 days. Now they do the normal clean the way that we would clean.

I think they are a national franchise. They have been coming out at least two times a year for several years. I really like them. They are expensive, but they have two or three women that show up at a time. I still think the price is reasonable considering that we are paying for two or three women. They are fast, extremely thorough, and professional. They get right to work and do a great job. They are hard-working and highly experienced women.

I have had no problems with Merry Maids to date. They are easy to deal with and I am happy to invite them into my home. I continue to recommend them to my family.

Merry Maids are dependable. The only problem is, it is different people every time. It make things more inconsistent when you always have some one new.
