Description of Work: I contacted McGuire Plumbing (recommended by a City Official) to find a solution to a sewer problem I had previously had. I had a different plumber come to look at the problem prior to McGuire's, which ended costing $500.00 for basically hooking up a new washing machine and hearing his solution to the sewer problem which would not have worked. Tony McGuire came to my home when expected, and was professional and courteous. I told him about the clothes washer (in the basement) backing up with sewage and my understanding of the way the sewer lines were run. He checked the plumbing in the basement, and verified how the sewer lines were placed outside. My housewas built in the 1940's and for whatever reason, the sewer line came out of the basement for several yards and then made a 90 degree turn, and was routed and hooked into the sewer next door and then routed to the sewer main. Mr. McGuire recommended theycheck the line with a camera to determine if there was some kind of problem with roots or a blockage, etc. Using these cameras can be somewhat expensive but a copy would be made for me to keep. (The previous plumber also used a camera, but did not mention making a copy and I was unaware I could have had one). As it turned out, the line was full of roots and collapsing. McGuire's Plumbing solution was to close all connections to the sewer it had been connected to and put in a sewer line in the back of my yard and connect it to the sewer main. A drain in the laundry room had to be closed off and a sump pump was installed that would route the washer water (and any other water that could get in the basement) to the new line. There were pipes that had to be installed to run the water from the washer to the pump and several that had to be closed off. To move the sewer line, besides all the digging and laying pipe involved, going through a concrete basement wall to reroute the line and then prepare it so it cannot leak and dig a hugh hole in the basement floor to insert the pump was a huge undertaking. I had mentioned I wanted to get a new commode in the downstairs bathroom and was able to take advantage of one they had for sale. They removed and disposed of the old one and installed the new. They put drop clothes down on all floors on the way to install the commode, so they would not be covered with the Red dirt. .

Description of Work: We had a frozen water pipe which later burst. They scheduled us in and were very responsive. The pipe was repaired -- I believe they replaced the sections that were damaged, and in fact even found more leaks. They also put some insulation on the pipes, which was previously not there.
