+ 0 morePrice gouging during a State of Emergency...Blizzard of 2011, Oklahoma City. Got a quote over the phone from the owner of Davis Landscaping, Scott Davis, for $125.00 per hour for snow removal. He was very vague on time estimates on how long it would take. When we spoke, he only mentioned one vehicle...quote was $125 per hour...period. He arrived nearly 3 hours later than scheduled in a very small bobcat. I thought he would be in a large snowplow (my bad). About half an hour later, 2 more small vehicles arrived. They plowed from 7:40pm until 10pm and then began doing private driveways. I was expecting to receive a bill for 2-1/2 to 3 hrs max for $375.00. Instead, I received a bill for $1125. When I called him to discuss, he called me stupid, crazy and made threats. I told him we would only pay him $375 as contracted verbally by phone. He has threatened court action and liens. I have since heard other horror stories about his price gouging that night. We hired another company for our big snow yesterday...they did the same work..were here for 4 hours with 2 vehicles..one a big snow plow, and charged us $375.00...hmmmmmmm. Davis Landscaping and their owner, Scott Davis..in my opinion, are unethical and immoral.
Description of Work: Contracted to plow snow for a small, 2 road neighborhood with 42 homes at the rate of $125 per hour. He was also to contract separately with the homeowners to clear their driveways. The approximate amt above includes driveways cleared by contractor, which were billed separately.
