I only have very good things to say about these people. I found them in the phone book and took a chance and hit the jackpot! In addition to my wedding disaster, they added the links to my watch, polished and cleaned it. They sized and straightened out my wedding ring, they fixed my emerald ring and I had seen the most beautiful purse hanging on the wall of their store. They have gorgeous merchandise of all kinds in every price range and the purse kept calling to me. After thinking about it multiple times over about 3 months I returned and bought it. There is a shop in Las Vegas that carries this artists purses for 4-5 times the 600.00 I paid for it here. During the fixes I had done I saw numerous people come in for different reasons and every one of them had a smile on their face. I love everything they have done! Thanks J. Thompson jewelers.

Better than imagined. We had a short turn-around time frame and Thompsons accommodated us with great consideration for circumstance and professionalism.

They not only fixed it, but inspected it (I hadn't had it cleaned in two years) and saw how dirty it was then cleaned it for free. They told me to come back every three months for a free cleaning. He also told me just how much my ring was worth which was pretty impressive.

Jeff gave us a discount by giving us credit for the old gold chain and a large discount for the new chain. We have dealt with Jeff for years now and have spent a sizeable amount of money with him for jewelry. We have found him to be extremely knowledgeable about his craft and he has consistently had better prices than his competitors. I think his staff of artists can accomplish any task set before them. We have had custom pieces made from scratch and they were perfect. They use state of the art CAD software.

I took the jewelry in on June 8th and they told me would be a couple of weeks. Today June 10th they called and everything was ready. I was so excited had not been able to wear the rings for 15 years. They were very nice and considerate and very, very quick.

It went incredibly well. My wife had purchased a beautiful silver/gold ring from Ireland for our 25th last November. Ring was too big. Finally got around to having it resized--on St. Pat's Day--which was also her birthday. Hoped to surprise her. Took ring into Thomson's around 12:30. Jeff initially said it would take several days and quoted a price. When I explained what I had hoped for, he said "let me see what I can do". What he did was get his jeweler to spend four hours on what turned out to be an extremely difficult job. The ring had to go from an 11 to a 9.5. It also was actually three separate rings combined. The price quoted was extremely low--especially considering the complexity and degree of difficulty encountered. Offered to pay more, but Jeff held at his original quote. The ring was done by 5:30. They also polished the ring to where it looked brand new and when I came in, took my wedding band and polished that as well. I was able to surprise my wife with me now wearing a ring she bought me that not only fit perfectly but was polished and beautiful. It meant a lot to her and made her birthday. It only happened because I luckily picked a jeweler that had the skill to do a complex and difficult job--and a profound commitment to meeting a customer's needs. Doesn't get any better than that.

it was a busy Saturday, yet they took the time to size a wedding ring and clean two of them thoroughly while we waited. The process took very little time, and they resized one ring several times until it was perfect. The cleaning and polishing was an added bonus, and whatever they did removed something that was causing a dermatitis or irritation. We were extremely pleased, and it was a perfect job for a reasonable price. Plus, they were selling Girl Scout Cookies!!!!

Having been customers of J. Thomson Custom Jewelers in years past, my husband decided to surprise me with a visit to their store on our 40th wedding anniversary to let me pick out a piece of jewelry to mark the occasion. He wanted to give me something done with rubies as they are the traditional 40th anniversary stone. The staff at J. Thomson worked with us that day to come up with an "journey" drop to be created with 7 rubies in ascending sizes. My request was that the stones be as deep a "red" as possible, preferring red to the pink, if possible. As the result of their research, we have stones that have a definite red edge over the pink, and deep in color. They are beautifully matched as well. We were told that it could take a little time to research and find the stones before the setting work could begin. I believe it took about 3 weeks before we got the call that it was ready. Very reasonable. We have always been pleased with the "experience" working with the artisans at J. Thomson. They strive to make the customer feel the project at hand is as important to them as it is to the future owner. I appreciate knowing extra TLC went into what we have purchased. We now have a keepsake piece in this recent necklace that i'm sure will be passed down to future generations.

The resulting earrings are stunning. I buy a fair amount of jewelry and know what I'm looking at. The quality and craftsmanship are far above what you will find in the stores. It's not cheap, but if you know what goes into making settings (My stones were not a standard size, so the settings had to be custom made) you understand the time it takes. I also wanted 18k gold.

My husband and I moved to Edmond 2 years ago after living in Tulsa for 30 years. In Tulsa I had purchased several semi precious stone rings and a very nice diamond ring a few years ago. I searched, in Tulsa, for a gemologist to verify the stones in the rings and and appraise the diamond ring that I had purchased. I looked online and found one that was certified and took the jewelry in to her. She did what I needed but was very expensive. I thought while I was there I would ask what she thought about my 3 C wedding ring. Before I could stop her, and she didn't ask, she raised one of the prongs and took out the diamond to weigh etc.. But when she put the diamond back in she just bent the prong back down. It wasn't long before I noticed that prong catching on some clothes. Of course over time I realized it was getting worse. When I moved to Edmond I went to see a formers classmate that has a large jewelry store and asked him about the prong. He looked at the prong with a loop and said the diamond was safe and in his opinion nothing needed to be done. Well a couple of years later I sheared off that prong. I felt lost wondering who to take it to. Angie's list gave mr the answer. I saw all the A's for J Thomson Jewelry on NW Expressway and went there. The experience was fantastic. As soon as I walked in I was greeted and 2 minutes later Robert was there to help me. He looked over the ring and prong and said yes there wouldn't be any problem repairing the prong and would match the shape of the others and wrote out meticulously to the repair person what it should look like. ( I forgot what jeweler told me I had to have the full top cut off and replace that part of the setting). Also, as Robert examined the rind he found that at the tip of the triangular pave set on one side had a diamond and the other just gold. He showed me with a giant loop making it so easy to see what he was talking about. I was shocked that I had never noticed. I knew from then on that would really bug me. I asked if a diamond could be set in that area where just the gold was and he said yes, no problem. Then I held my breath when I asked about the price and was pleasantly surprised when he said ~ $ 100.00 but might be a little higher depending on the price of the diamond. Robert then thoroughly mapped my center diamond and wrote out the picture of the inclusion and other identifying spots so I wouldn't have any worries that the diamond could be switched. Then he took the time to check the cut of the small diamond and wrote it down to make sure that it would be done properly. The next good news was he said he could have it finished in 10 days before we went on vacation. He called me in 5 or 6th day and said my ring was ready to be picked up. It looked beautiful!! Any repairs or jewelry design I might need I will return only to J Thomson Custom Jewelry! The are completely honest and above and beyond customer care oriented, which is sorely lacking almost any where else.

Called J Thomson based on the strength of the existing Angie's List reviews, which set high expectations, and I'm so glad I did. It is obvious that everyone there loves what they do and enjoys working together. I called first of course, and the gentleman I spoke to was very knowledgeable and friendly. I told him I wanted to replace the stone in my wife's engagement ring for our 25th anniversary. Back then, when we were both dirt poor, all I could get was a "cap" diamond, which is a round brilliant cut, but it's only actually diamond from the table to the girdle (the widest part of the classic diamond shape); the lower part or pavilion is glass and considered part of the setting rather than part of the stone. It's always bugged me; I've been wanting for years to replace it with a full stone like I wanted to get back then, but couldn't come close to affording. When I described what I had and what I needed done, he was very interested in looking at the cap diamond, having heard of them but having never seen one. To me, that is a sign of a true n*** (being a true n*** myself, although in a different field). He said no matter what it would not cost more than $150, and that was even before he knew I was an Angie's List member (Yep! Mention that you saw them on Angie's List and you get a discount!). The missus and I went in together on a Thursday to drop off the ring and the new stone and to discuss settings. We preferred the look of the four-prong solitaire like what we had originally, but we had some problems early on keep the old stone in. We took it in to another OKC jeweler for repairs (ANOTHER jeweler, not J Thomson). After it fell out again for the third time he eventually just jammed the stone down in there as far as he could and it never came out again. It also never really sparkled or shone again (once more, a DIFFERENT jeweler did that, NOT J Thomson!!). So we were leaning towards a six-prong for security. We chatted with two of the experts while we waited for the Gem Guru to get back from lunch. The gentleman I spoke to on the phone was there, as well as another lady who worked for GIA for 10-ish years. When she found out we had a GIA diamond, she asked if she could see the GIA report for her own curiosity. Another n***! Yes! Phone Guy (sorry; I'm terrible with names) pulled out a high-powered loupe to see if the stone was laser-inscribed with the GIA number (it is) and if he could read the number (he did). He read it off and GIA Lady wrote it down. Did I mention I love working with people who are nerds in their field? If you don't love what you do, then I'd rather you not do it for me. The four of us tossed around a few different setting options. Finally the Wise Master arrived. Ultimately, after everyone else had given their opinions, he said, "We'll do a four-prong. We don't want to cover it up any more than we have to. It's not coming out of there." He also said he would mount it higher, so that light could actually get to it, and thus restore the ring's fire and brilliance, but to an even higher level than it ever had before. If they'd had the setting in stock, it would have been ready the following Tuesday or Wednesday, but after fairly intensive searching they did not. So with having to order the setting it would be about two weeks. Well, I'd say long story short, but I see it's too late for that. Anyway, the ring was ready right when he said it would be, two weeks later. It was also ready right AS he said it would be, which is gorgeous! He did a masterful job. It's sitting nice and high, but without being gaudy or intrusive; light can get to it, and through it, all around. He is truly a Wise Gem Sage Master. I just wish I could remember his (or indeed anyone's) actual name. I have their business cards around somewhere but seem to have lost them too. J Thomson Custom Jewelers have definitely earned a new life-long customer, plus as many others as I can convince.

The designer and I created a dazzling pave white gold ring using my stones and additional stones from the owner. These stones included princess cut diamonds as well as almost 100 round brilliants. We collaborated and came up with a spectacular modern ring that will knock your socks off. All of the preparatory work was done on site including computer aid design, casting and manufacturing. Jeff Thomson (the owner) was professional in every aspect of this creation, kept me informed, and then delivered the ring earlier than expected. I would go to Thomson Custom Jewelers again in a heartbeat. They stand behind their work for maintenance and repairs. Jeff is a very personable guy, pleasant to work with, and enjoys what he does and that comes across to the customer. It's inspiring. He wants his customer to be completely satisfied and that is a very admirable quality. There are no don'ts. THEY ARE AWESOME!

I have nothing but positive things to say about J. Thomson Custom Jewelers! I brought Jeff my great grandmother's ring in hopes to use the diamond and re-design a band to match for my engagement ring. Completion of the ring was done in a timely matter and exceeded my expectations. He created exactly what I had in mind, at a very reasonable price. Jeff was prompt with phone calls and made sure to keep my fiance in the loop throughout the entire process. He was also able to custom design my wedding band to match. Jeff and his team listened to all my ideas and created a beautiful ring. We plan to design and purchase my fiance's wedding band here as well and I know it would turn out just a wonderful as my two rings. Each staff member we have worked with at J. I have very small wrists and it is hard to find watches to fit. Robert helped me find a watch in the Charles-Hubert catalog. He ordered it and it was in a week later. After taking out four links, the watch fits perfectly and looks very nice. I finally have a watch to wear that does not look like a little kid should be wearing it. Thanks Robert and Jeff.

Jeff and his staff are amazing! I started emailing Jeff to see if he could produce a ring that I wanted for our anniversary. He was extremely prompt in all of his responses. As we met in person he had everything set out that we had discussed and ready for me to start narrowing it down to what exactly I wanted in my ring. The entire process was very fast and I am extremely pleased with how everything turned out. He was able to melt my gold from my original wedding bands into my new ring that I was able to design every aspect of. After doing my thorough research, I had what I consider the chance of a lifetime in choosing J Thomson Jewelers to custom design a diamond ring for me. They are in a word, AMAZING, but that doesn't even begin to describe how INCREDIBLY AWESOME they are. So off we went in I believe on January 27, 2015, and talked to them (Jeff, Susan, and Robert). At that time, I thought I knew what I wanted. I already had all the gold and side diamonds I needed for the ring and just needed the 1 carat diamond I was fortunate enough to be able to purchase as a gift from my husband. I went back a few days later and picked out my center diamond. It is INCREDIBLE!! We then started the CAD design. Midstream, I changed my mind as it turned out the original design wasn't what I wanted after all, which wasn't a problem. We basically started over. No problem. Jeff worked with me and and worked with me until he was sure he had it right before he cast the ring. It turned out to be a more difficult job that we had initially thought it would be. I was sending him emails nearly everyday. I am such a picky woman and had to be sure everything was going to be my specifications. I thought he would surely be irritated by all of these emails, but he is TRULY THE BEST! I kid you not. I'm usually not a very patient person, but during this custom design process I was surprisingly patient. At any rate, Jeff called me on March 19, 2015, and told me my ring was ready for me to come and pick up! To say I was excited is an understatement. As this was a weekday, I had my husband come home for lunch and we went to pick it up as I could not wait until that evening. OMG!!! It turned out to be more BEAUTIFUL and STUNNING than I ever thought it would be and one of which I never in my wildest dreams thought I would ever own. There aren't enough words to describe its beauty. If you are looking for someone to design or purchase a ring from, or any other piece of jewelry from, you need to at the very least go to J Thomson Jewelers and visit with them. Robert is very patient and explains everything to you that you want to know about sizing, quality of merchandise, how a stone is tested in an appraisal, etc. Robert and Jeff are very friendly and willing to help with any jewelry need. They will even clean your jewelry even if you don't buy it there. Customer service is outstanding! I will definitely use them again, with sizing of rings and with future purchases.

I originally had my wifes engagement ring made by J Thompson and it is absolutely gorgeous. Wherever we go she always gets compliments on the ring and band. So, we went in to have the ring cleaned and noticed a beautiful opal in a gold setting. My wife fell in love with the ring. I went back and they gave me a great quote on the ring and I bought it on the spot.

My wedding ring didn't fit any more so I took it in and they had it resized in a week which is just the amount of time they quoted.

Took the rings in on a Thursday morning and they were done same day. I was helped by Susan, who was friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. The rings all look brand new even though the oldest ring is at least 60 years old.

We had no idea what we wanted when we walked in. Robert was the sales person that helped us. There was never a push for the sale. He simply helped us make up our mind by showing us many different designs and how each of the ones we were interested in could be altered. It took us three weeks to make up our mind. We got exactly what we wanted in our price range. We also got the "QUALITY" we were looking for.
