Interstate Heating & Air Conditioning

I called to see if they could schedule it. One, it took the girl 5 tries to spell my last name, though the first couple time were because of a bad connection. Then we took down all my information. Then, after I explained for the second time what I needed, she said they couldn't do it unless they talked to the current owner, which seems wrong since I've had plumbers, roofers, contractors and structural engineers in the house on multiple occasions. I'm OK though that that is their policy, but tell me before you waste my time please. Bottom line, they need better front office staff. Will not use again. As a comparison, I called Shockley Heating and Air after, talked to the owner directly, he understood what I needed, got me scheduled all in couple minutes. For Angies List: I sorted by recent Grades A to F, somehow Interstate came before Shockley even though they had a very recent F and D grade.

Do not use. I was told that I could apply the Angie's list $30 off coupon off the diagnostic but when the sales person showed up and finished the diagnostic he told me the coupon could only be applied if repair was completed. The price quoted for a dual run capacitor was $394 and I refused. I ended up going with another company for $230. Keep your money and integrity. This company is a rip off!!!

The employees who answered the phone were very nice and courteous. The air conditioning problem was at my daughter's home in Edmond. The Tech arrived when promised; however he was dressed way too nice to be a repairman, which should have been my first clue. He diagnosed the problem to the point where he determined there was compressor failure and promptly pulled out his rate book to quote a price on replacing the compressor and possibly the condenser (anywhere between $2K and $5K). I wasn't wanting a salesman, I was expecting a repairman. It was clear to me that his main purpose/job was to sell a new system rather than repair the system which was only 11 years old. Subsequently, a 2nd opinion was scheduled and it was ultimately determined that the breaker switch to the compressor was bad and needed to be replaced, which was what was done and the air conditioning is working perfectly. I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone and definitely won't be calling them again.

They are beyond perfect, as far as a business goes. They respond quickly, very professional workers, and the business office workers are wonderful. I pay a monthly fee now for their twice annual check up service. The owners have repaired their out of warranty equipment, even though they really didn't need to and I am very grateful for their excellent ethical business operations. They have loaned us a free standing air conditioning unit when they had to order a part. If I could give them higher than an A I would.

This is a yearly contract. For $179 Interstate comes out twice a year and does a summer and winter check and maintenance of our heat/AC system. They have very polite, professional and competent service people. We had a problem with the heating system winter before last and the service person came out at night to fix it. Our system is well past its expected "shelf life," and they have given us an estimate on a new system, but have not pressured us. In fact, the last service person suggested we place a carbon monoxide detector inside the heat/AC closet (we have one in the house) to detect any early problems.

Every person I encountered with this company was wonderful. The receptionist answered the phone with a smile and was very polite. The salesperson who came out was professional, knowledgeable and genuinely interested in tying to help me get my A/C fixed. He explained everything thoroughly and followed up with me a few days later to see if I came up with any additional questions that can help me make an informed decision. This company understands the importance of good customer service. I ultimately used a different company to install my unit based solely on my budget, but I would absolutley recommend this company!!

Very professional technician who was kind and curtious and explained everything in detail. I signed a service plan with this provider and plan on using again in the future for any and all HVAC needs. Overall price was very reasonable for work done.

It was a good experience. It started off bad and came out okay. He came in and said I need a new unit and then I said well if that is the case fix me up for the new unit. He started to and then he said I did not have enough credit to buy a new unit, but since he has already said my unit is totally collapsed it put me in a hell of a predicament for half of the year some which involved a heat stroke that I ended up having to be hospitalized over but anyhow by and large I ended up using the same guys who are really confident when I got my cash together to buy a $10000 air conditioner. Their lameness kind of put me on the edge to some extent. I had no problems with any of them. They did a great job as far as their work and how they took care of things and professionalism on the job. Price is in the ballpark. Responsive was great. Everything regarding the work and the equipment and the followup and the customer service and all that stuff is really top.

Interstate came out and did my fall preventative maintainable, they are a little pricey but you get what you pay for! They provide excellent service, and are very thorough, ever since I have been with interstate I have not had one breakdown! I would recommend this company to anyone!

Interstate showed up promptly, diagnosed the problem and gave us an estimate which I verified with other service providers. The initial estimate was approximately $800 due to the scope of work and parts costs. He went to get the needed parts and came back with great news. He cut the cost nearly in half by being able to source the correct components at a substancial discount.

OK. However, I did not like the sales pitch I was given to purchase preferred customer agreement for discount on future services and the pitch to switch our parts that are worn but still working..

Hello, I think you have outstanding Techs like "Jordan", but the scheduling dept is a disaster area. I called Interstate a couple years back to service my unit. I was given a date and time, but it was a "No show, No call". I called a second time upset that I had missed a day of work for no reason. I was told that they were very sorry and if I gave them another try they would make it right. I gave interstate a second chance, I understand things go wrong at times but Interstate"Manned up" and gave us a year tune up service for no charge and has done a great job since. All techs that have came to my house have been very professional and friendly. End result was we were happy with Interstate Heat and Air. Fast forward a couple years and now we have the same problem, "No show No call" and a I'm very sorry story and that we will make it right. Jordan came out and did the inspection and let us know that the igniter was working but could fail at anytime and suggested that we replace it for 132 dollars. I called the office back later 9/11/14 that day and told them we had decided to go ahead and have Jordan replace it. He was going to be on vacation the following week so I was told he would be here 9/22/14 from 10 - 1. Again The office failed to get it on the schedule. It was not the fault of Jordan. I have discussed with my wife about what to do next. We have decided that we will not have the igniter replaced and will look at other heat and air companies. Then make a decision if we are going to change companies or give Interstate yet one more try. Regards, PS. We never received a call back after speaking to the person that tried trying to smooth over the issue. We have decided to not use Interstate ever again.

The service tech was profressional and performed to the work he was hired to do. However, he begin explaining some 'Special Customer' Service that i could sign up for and it would cost $15.00 a month. I told him i was not interested and hire them no on as needed basis. Apparently, thinking I was signing the invoice, he also had me sign the 'Special Customer' service scam. So August, September and October I was having $15.00 deducted from my personal bank account. When I called the phone # associated with the transaction, it has been discontinued. I had to way of knowing who the merchant was, and report fraud to my credit union. They immediately stopped my debit card and notified Interstate Heat and Air without the authorization of the account owner, you cannot make deduction to their account. I guess they got their hands slapped and rightfully so. Just when you're fying high and think the competition is no where near, look again. If that hadn't incident hadn't p***** me off enough, they cancelled the fall service call that I had on the schedule for two weeks. How rude. What a poor way to run a business. I hope 12 months from now you are not even in business. And I can assure you, regardless how goofy you answer the phone, you will contniue to loose clients. Good riddens! Jennifer Finley

Very professional and here on time

I called the company on a Saturday evening shortly after my air conditioner failed. Thanks to the flexible hours, I was able to receive service the next day. The company had an open appointment on Sunday @ 8:00 am. Alan the technician arrived on time and first asked what the issue was and then went straight to work to address the problem/issue. Alan identified the problem in my presence and explained in detail the work that needed to be done. He showed me the damaged parts and then upon my authorization, he replaced the parts and we had air again within an hour. The timing was perfect, as the day was expected to be at least 100 degrees. I would recommend this company to others. I would like to especially thank Alan for his honesty and for taking the time to explain the problem. I must also thank the answering service for being so professional and courteous. In addition, I received a follow-up phone call asking if I was satisfied with the services that were performed. No issues. They serviced the furnace and told us everything was fine with it. Didn't try to charge for services we didn't need. Talked to us about getting on a bi-annual plan to take care of furnace and air conditioner. They were on time and we felt the service we received was good for the price.

I've been using interstate for about a year, they are always professional, honest, and we never have any problems with our a/c! Great company!

Kai came out very quickly and gave us an estimate to install a complete heating and air system in our home. Their quote of $9,950 wasn't the highest or the lowest but they were definitely the most professional. If this wasn't going to be a rental property I would have gone with them but I took the lowest bid for that fact alone. They will be 1st on my list to call once I build my new home.

The plan cost $650 because it's for a couple of years but I think it also included the air conditioner part. They weren't high but they weren't cheap either; they're just about normal. They were nice. The guy came out and handled it. In fact, he went out of his way. He came all the way across town to see us when we called. I'm pretty happy with them.

They came out and the guy did a good job. The guy talked to me and he explained the stuff to me. It was a decent price and that's why I had them come out. It was good.

It was terrible. We were so displeased with their service. We thought that they overcharged us. We received their recommendation and then we got a couple of other companies to gather their input as far as what they thought we needed to have done. They had told us that we needed to do a complete system overhaul and that we needed a whole new air conditioning unit. However there were a lot of other simple things that could have been done to take care of the problem. We had a bad experience. They did make it right. They charged us $400 and when my husband came home and I explained to him what they did and what they'd charged, he called them and complained that it wasn't right. So they did reimburse us a portion of that. We would never use them again. They were professional, on time but they weren't honest and they overpriced us.

These guys sent out a kid who couldn't be more than 21 or 22. He showed up quickly - I will give him that. He gives us a long list of things that need to be repaired, charged us $89 for a diagnostic evaluation. He states: it will cost you around a few thousand dollars for repair or 8-10 thousand dollars to just replace the whole air conditioner. That might take 2-3 days, but he suggested that replacing the whole thing would be our best option. I thought that was a little high. So, we got a second opinion. Second opinion = $204 to replace a fuse. 2 hours later = in our house and AC working fine. These guys are scam artists at their worst and you should stay away. They, for all intensive purposes, stole $89 of our money to figure this out. We think we deserve an apology and our $89 back. Unfortunately, others have paid more to figure this sad fact out.

It was a pretty good experience. They're pretty efficient and timely. It didn't cost more than the big deal purchase.

They've been fine. We had no problems with them at all. My husband has dealt with them and he's been happy with them. They came out when they said they would. They've done well.

The service was good and I would recommend them to anybody. They were always on time, efficient, thorough, professional, and did a great job. They were very cost effective compared to others. I was very pleased with the price for the service they provided. I liked their overall service. I had done my research and they were highly recommended on Angie's List.
