HOME DEPOT INSTALLATION

I was shocked at how long the whole process took. I had found a nice carpet that we wanted to have replace some old carpet in a rental home of ours. I went to the store and the store associate helped me set up the measurement. I asked him typically how long until the carpet can go in and he replied usually about a week to a week and a half with this carpet. So four days later the measurements were taken on a Thursday. I didn't hear back from home depot until the following week at which time the had come up with a quote. I told the guy I only wanted 3 of the rooms and a hallway done and he said ok I will adjust this and call you back in about an hour. He called back the next day and still had not adjusted the quote, not sure what he did at all over the course of that day. He then told me again he would call me right back with the correct quote. Several hours later he called back and we finished up the sale. He told me it would take a couple of days for the carpet to come in because the amount I needed would have to be special ordered. The special order took over another week to come in and then they could not install it for over another week after that. All in all the whole process took just about a month to complete. The product is nice, the price was good and the installation went fine but it took way to long. If you need carpet installed in a timely manner I would look elsewhere. However if you are not in a hurry then home depot would be fine.

The doors were measured and I went in to pick out the doors and when they were brought to the house it was a bit disappointing. This is my fault for not catching it but the doors were primed instead of ready for stain like the rest of the doors in the house. I think if we would have hired a door company to do the installation they might have caught that for me. Then the door hinges were already cut in and were in the wrong place even though we ordered slabs it looks like Home Depot had got them prehung. The installer thought that looked good enough but we called him back to fill the extra hinge cuts and he did about as good of job as I would do which wasn't great. Also, one of the hinges got bent and he had to repair it and now one of the roller ball catches on the top of the door has popped out and needs to be repaired.

Timing was horrible and work was even worse. The contractor's work caused damage to the inside of our house that was never mitigated. We were completely misled and manipulated. Home Depot representatives at both the store and headquarters level informed us, upon our complaint, that there was nothing they could do. "We have not control over our contractors."

The plumber left and didn't tell me he was leaving. I went out and his truck was gone! I called his boss and got a secretary. I said he was rude and he laughed at me. She said his boss was out of town and would call on Monday. He never called. Home Depot refunded the charges and I got another plumber to replace the hot water tank. DON'T USE HOME DEPOT. The people they send are morons!

I have had a very good experience with Home Depot. They do great work and I trust them. I would hire them again in a second.
