It was fine. We had to have our air conditioner replaced and that's not who we used at the end but we didn't have any problems with them to our knowledge. I am not sure we were happy with the quality of their work but I don't know heating and air conditioning that much so I was a little unsatisfied with it but I can't say for sure that it was their fault. Their prices are a little high because we eventually bought an air conditioner from someone else so we did do some price comparing.
Description of Work: Hill & Company Service Inc. did the regular service for our heating and air and doing the annual check in the spring and in the winter. They told us to have our air conditioner replaced.

It went very well. Very well to my satisfaction. They did my house here and my brother's house. He did two houses and he gave me a discount because I was an Angie's List member. I mentioned it and I think they gave me ten percent. The service was very good. They were very professional, they knew what they were doing and they kept everything clean and organized when they left. If I have to use them again I will not hesitate. I will call them if I need service again. They were professional and they were on time, they got here and they told me it takes about two hours and they did it in two hours and they cleaned everything and they left in a friendly manner. I was satisfied with their service. They give you idea of people that are on Angie's list, I joined Angie List last year based on my brother. He's been there, so I decided to join and in the neighborhood that we were in you need professional help. They can provide good service and they give you a good price. They are helpful for your needs. It is very helpful.

I am a regular customer of the provider and participate in the provider's seasonal inspection program. Contacted provider because A/C wasn't cooling. Provider responded the following day (Wed). Since the time window was large I requested a 30 min call...I received a 10 min call. As a result I suggested the technician move on to his next customer and return to me afterwards. I left work immediately and waited at the house for approx. an hour before the tech arrived. Once on the premesis he was very polite and professional. He determined that the capacitor had to be replaced. As we were settling the bill I asked some questions about potentially replacing the system. He decided to check the system before he left and behold the fan motor had just failed. He then encouraged me to just replace the system. I declined. He then advised that the fan motor may have just overheated and may reset if I leave the system off for a few hours. I did so and the fan came on. Unfortunately, it was a temporary fix so I called the provider the following morning. A different tech returned (Thu)...again no 30 min call. I was advised I needed a fan motor. He told me he would order it from a local vendor the following morning and have it installed that day (Fri). Moved to a hotel. At about 2:30 on Fri I called the provider after not hearing anything from them. There was silence on the phone and a promise to call back. I received a call about 30 min later to tell me that the fan motor had just been ordered. They offered to install it on Mon. When I asked if they worked on Sat i was advised that they were booked up. I expressed severe displeasure!!!! After not hearing from them again I received a call at 6:20 on Fri night to advise me that a tech was at my house ready to install. My wife and I had just ordered dinner...still staying at a hotel...and told them that "no notice" was unacceptable..I wanted the fan motor installed on Sat. At approx 7:30 AM on Sat I received a phone call from the provider giving me 30 min notice. It took about 15 min to install.

The service was excellent overall! They are the best people that we've worked with for mechanical services. We had our system installed about three or four years ago, and an electronic air cleaner was installed, but nobody ever showed us how to use it properly. The technician even took the time to explain how to use it, and really went above and beyond!

Overall, the experience was excellent. They were unbelievable! Their price was within line of other estimates we had gotten, but the reason why we went with them was because of Ron's attitude and professionalism. It was a big job. The employees were so clean, professional, thorough and quiet. I can't think of anything they could've done to have it be a better experience and I wouldn't use anybody else.

Our air conditioning was out, so I called Hill and Co. on Friday to service the unit. According to their dispatch person, they were booked on Friday but would be able to come by on Saturday some time after 12:00 PM. After sitting in an extremely hot house all day Saturday, I called them at 4:40 PM to find out when they were coming by. The "on-call" technician called me back and indicated that their office was closed and that he could come by and charge me overtime. This was not what was agreed to initially so I told him that I would find somebody else. It was so hot in my house that I had to get a hotel for Saturday and Sunday night that put me out an additional $250 after taxes. The extremely frustrating thing about the encounter is that had I known they weren't going to show up on Saturday, I would have called someone else on Friday and likely had the unit fixed that evening. Lesson learned. I will not use Hill and Co. again.

We attempted to call the member on Saturday, but I believe the office transcribed the numbers wrong, as we received no answer on one number and the other was disconnected. Our on-call technician should have ran the call at regular rates when he called him that evening and informed him of our mistake. I have attempted to call the customer to apologize and have sent an apology along with a $300 credit, to make up for his hotel stay. Hopefully, he will give us another chance in the future.

I have used their services before. I was going to use them to install a new unit. They guy they sent out this time was a jerk. They charged me a $90 trip charge, $90 for the freon, and also labor to install the two pounds of freon. After they left, I had another company come out to do all the work for $210, including the repair of the leak, installing half a pound of freon that they missed, and two hours of labor. I have a service contact with them for one more service, but after that I won't hire them again.

I fielded the customer's phone complaint personally. I don’t recall our technician being called a jerk at the time I spoke to him, but the customer did complain about the prices we charged. Our $89 diagnostic (not $90 trip as stated) is a flat rate charge to find the problem, which we did. The customer was aware of our freon charges before we began charging the system, and the amount came to $142 for 3 lbs of freon and labor (not $90 for 2lbs + labor as stated). It was recommended to find and repair the leak in his system, but he declined. The customer did receive a bid for a replacement 7 months prior to having this service call and was still contemplating replacement. Other than the price, there were no other complaints that I was aware of at the time of our phone conversation. I stand by our prices and I think the charge was reasonable. Although the customer stated he wouldn’t use us anymore if those were our charges, I felt we ended the conversation amicably. I obviously should have done more to salvage the customer’s goodwill, if not his business. I wouldn’t want to do business with a company that I rated an F, therefore I am refunding the customer the unused portion of his maintenance agreement. Sincerely, Jon Hill

I replaced a gasket in a bath faucet valve to eliminate a leak. In addition, there was a very poor flow of hot water. I contacted Hill and Company who had installed A/C and heating equipment for me over the summer (a very good job also). They set up an appointment with the plumber, who arrived early. Perry was very helpful and patient as I tried to understand what the possible problems were and as I wanted to be involved in the solution. Perry and I discussed options, he gave me prices on the options, and even wound up staying around to do the job rather than calling it a day. As a needed part was being delivered, he prepared the site for installation of the new part and was ready by the time the part arrived. There were one or two "hiccups" during the process and Perry very professionally dealt with them, providing a solution that worked, solving the problem.
Description of Work: Lack of water pressure in the bath on the hot water side due to a build up of minerals in a connector. Replaced rough-in valve, faucet handles, spout and shower head. Very professionally done. Perry, the plumber, took time to help me understand what was going on and involved me in deciding on the approach to take. Turns out the recommended approach was the correct one and it fixed the problem. All is now working great.

During the middle of the wonderul heat wave we experienced this summer, our A/C unit stopped working. I checked Angie's list to read recommendations and comments from others about potential service providers. We selected Hill and Company based on the comments from customers on Angies List plus the fact that one of the owners took time to address concerns raised by one customer. We also heard their ad on radio most mornings. Repairmen showed up as scheduled and after a thorough examination of the issue, we agreed to try a temporary repair solution. The repairman explained the problems with the system, what might be wrong, and what the options were. He also explained what could go wrong with the temporary solution. Turned out the temporary solution did not work and the repairman spent quite a bit of time answering my questions about the systems I had. He also discussed the liklihood of future issues if we pursued repair versus replacement. I asked the company to send a sales person who was right on time and we agreed on a heating and A/C package for my home. They had several financing options including paying it in cash. We agreed to financing and on the specified date, the installation team showed up to install the units. They encountered several problems during the installation, however they addressed each one of them appropriately within the price. The city inspector found a couple of things that he questioned and when the repair guys showed up, they took time to meet with the inspector to work out the details. Office staff followed up diligently to make sure that all was well and we've been happily cooled and now heated since. I decided to sign up for their annual maintenance program where they will come out twice a year, in spring and fall, to ensure proper operation.

had the company I have a service contract with tell me I needed a new unit for around $10K my gut told me to get another opinion - so I went by Angies list and called Hill. I have a copy of the readings of my compressor and condenser amps as well as the pressure. they did say I needed to have contacts replaced but the unit itself still had life in it. also said it needed a new thermostat - so I bought a thermostat at hardware and put it on myself - cost $79. I will have Hill come back and replace contacts. Hill saved me a bunch, Angie led me to Hill - never go without Angie saying OK!

On Thursday night, before Labor Day weekend, I came home to a house that was 80 degrees. The next morning, I asked someone I worked with who he used and checked Angie's List. Both recommended Hill and Company. I called and they had someone out by 12:30. He recommended replacing the AC unit. He told me that he could put in a $500 dollar part but couldn't promise that something else wouldn't go wrong. My house was built in the mid-70's and they were pretty sure that it was the original AC unit. I was probably lucky that it kept chugging along during the incredible heat we have had this summer. I called to schedule someone to come out and give me an estimate on new AC, not expecting to get someone out that afternoon. Dennis did come out that afternoon. He did estimates for just replacing the AC and for replacing the AC and heat. I already knew that, according to OGand E, my usage was 17% above other homes of the same square footage. Dennis told me that my current system was 1/2 ton smaller than they would recommend for a house my size. I thought I might get away with just a new AC unit. I kept thinking of the heat system as "new" until I did the math and figured out that it was 17 years old. And it was making a funny noise. Dennis explained my options clearly. I chose to replace and upgrade the AC and the heat. Amazingly, they were able to schedule installing the new system on Tuesday after Labor Day. The installers were here all day. They did the installation and cleaned everything up. The AC has been working just fine. It's a lot quieter now, without the AC running full tilt boogie day and night. Obviously, I haven't had the heat on yet. Based on my personal experience and recommendations from friends and Angie's List, I will use Hill and Co. again. I was pleased with the fact that everything was scheduled so rapidly, especially over a holiday weekend, and that everyone from Hill and Co. I had contact with, was polite and professional.

The young man was polite but did not solve any thing for my $89.00 Mr. Hill called me personally to apologize and refunded my $89 along with a gift.
Description of Work: I called and asked if they worked on mini splits that my unit had a leak and the lady sad they do. She made an appointment between 1 and 4 pm for the tech. He arrived at 9am but this did not present a problem as there was some one home. The tech inspected the unit and could not attach his gauges as he did not know that he needed an adapter for mini splits. He called me at work to let me know he would have to return with the correct fittings. When I got home I located the adapter I used (available from Locke Supply) to install the unit and called his shop to have him return. The company at that time informed me that they do not work on the brand unit I have and I am out $89. Never did they ask what brand the unit was when they scheduled the appointment. This was very disappointing as I had read good things about this company. Angie's List let me down.

Everything was handled professionally by well-trained personnel.
Description of Work: The tech performed A/C system maintenance and removed cells and filters from my air cleaner that were damaged and very dirty. He provided me with the option of sending out the items for cleaning and repair at one of their partners which I agreed to do. There was a miscommunication that caused me to go 3 weeks without hearing from them about the status of the equipment (when I was told they would call me to advise cost and timeline). However, they were very apologetic when I called to follow-up and called me back that same day with all the information. The cost was surprisingly reasonable for the work performed. I did pay for a separate return visit for the tech to re-install the components but had the option of having them returned to me at no charge and doing it myself.

July 31, 2010 THANK YOU JD! Hill & Company came to the rescue. Our a/c went out with no warning, my husband & I called around to more than 30 places with only a few companies calling us back. Hill & Company could have someone over in about 20-30 minutes. JD came over to find out what was going on and found our compressor had died (don't worry it was quick). He gave us a quote and explained some things we could do to help it run smooth during the season. (My house is 3yrs old - so for our compressor to go out was a shock to us.) He left about 8pm on Thursday night and had our part the end of the next day. He lived near us so he was happy to put our compressor in on his day off. He was very helpful, kind and funny. Great service, great help and genuinely cared about our needs. I have to say, it has been a long time since I've found a great A/C company with such great customer service. Even calling the office, the women were compassionate and kind when I'm sure they hear everything as people are SWEATING to death. Thank you everyone at Hill & Company! You obviously only hire the best and I'm very impressed.

After feeling lied to by another company who advised us to replace our gas valve at over $500.00, I called Hill and Company to get an estimate for them to replace the valve. Their price was significantly lower, so we made an appointment for them to replace it. Upon inspection of our unit by their technician, he advised the valve did not need to be replaced at all. It simply needed to be adjusted. This technician was very professional and personable. Hill and Company saved us a large sum of money! When we need heat and air service in the future, I will certainly call them again.

The $99 "energy audit" consisted of an inspection of the A/C portion of my package unit, and a filter change. The technician didn't speak English very well so there was a communications barrier. The technician was also not authorized to bid estimates, so I had to call several additional times to request an estimate on the work that I wanted to have done. Ultimately, the person who gave me the estimates over the phone did so after consulting with the technician but without having looked at the job personally. The estimate on the HVAC unit in the attic was 200% higher than the company we ended up contracting with. The estimate on the tankless water heater was 500% higher than the company that we ended up contracting with.
Description of Work: Called and asked for an energy audit to determine ways to optimize energy savings. Also requested estimates for tankless water heater and HVAC unit in finished attic.

-There was obviously some miscommunication with our office staff because we do not perform "energy audits". We have apologized and offered Pam a refund. -Our technician that performed the work does have a Spanish accent, but speaks English very well. He is a United States citizen and has an Oklahoma HVAC license. He is requested time and again by our customers and I guarantee you would be happy to have him in your home. -Our technicians do not do estimates. We apologize if this was not made clear. Our factory trained salespeople are normally required to meet with the customer on site to assess the situation and discuss comfort options. -There is no doubt you can find someone to install equipment cheaper than us. Are they licensed? We are. Will they stand behind their work? We offer a 2 year labor warranty standard on installations. Do they install Trane equipment? We are Trane Comfort Specialists. Do they permit their jobs? We do. There was no permit pulled on the job in question.(you can visit the city of OKC website to verify)

Went great. We have two dual-fuel furnaces, one for upstairs and one for down, gas+electric combos, and on both of them the gas portion finally rusted out. After consulting with them, we decided not to repair the upstairs gas but just let it work as an electric heat pump, but replace the gas part downstairs. I thought their guestimate of $800 for the whole job was a bit much, so I called around to some other places.... $1,000 for the part alone, PLUS labor... I quickly called Hill back and got them to work. They did it quick and easy and I'm very happy with the repair.
Description of Work: My 12 year furnaces both died at the same time, and Hill & Co patched one up (as I requested) and fixed the other one up.
